What Have I Come To Earth To Do And Am I Doing It?
I have never before thought to ask myself that question. But now that I have, I realize that I don’t have a clear answer. I have a lot to examine and consider.
I was the vehicle to bring four other souls into the world. As my focus turned to spiritual exploration and discovery, I taught esoteric spiritual concepts to other seekers. My writing emerged in many forms to impact others. As is true for all of us, my life is patterned with interactions and choices that had impact on me and on others.
I have always followed my instincts, listened to my intuition, followed my own heart and basically followed the wisdom of my inner knowing – sometimes impulsively, sometimes thoughtfully. I have never had a grand plan or even long-term goals that I set out to achieve. I just organically responded in the moment and kept exploring. The only path I have followed is to keep learning and share what I’ve come to understand. I listen closely to my inner voice. I know that I changed lives through my writing, my insights and my presence but I don’t always know exactly how. I’m not sure any of us understand our full impact because it can show up as subtle shifts in awareness that change the trajectory of our lives and the lives others.
My life has been one long exploration and even at 91 my path continues to expand and change.
We have a choice about where we focus our attention. Some of us wrap ourselves in grandchildren. Some of us focus on our career. Others pursue self-expression through art or music or writing. What or who are you focusing on?
I came to earth to learn, to interpret what I learn and share it with others. I’m to explore, create new combinations and explain what I find to others. I’m a door-opener of sorts. I seldom see my impact because I am so busy generating new insights. I depend on what others tell me to know how I am affecting them.
My calling is deep and clear and resounding and I pay close attention to my inner guidance.
I think I am doing what I came to earth to do, because the call has been so strong and I have followed it. What have you come to earth to do? And are you doing it?

A Day of Purposeful Peace
I have begun to create a day of purposeful peace each week. Primarily that means no news – no alarming, depressing, unbelievable news of what is happening on the planet. My day of peace each week includes sitting in the sun and feeling it’s warmth and allowing it to permeate deep within. My day of peace includes music that speaks to my soul. My day of inner peace may include journaling or writing poetry or playing music. If I could see better, it would include art. What it will not include is any thoughts about the outside world. It will be a day of self-healing. It will be a day of self-reflection. It will be a day of self-care. It will probably be Sundays because the rhythm of life is different on Sundays.
Will you set aside your day of peace each week? What will you put in it? What will you leave out of it?
Too Many Details
I’m not a details person, I’m an overview person. Sometimes that is good and sometimes it is not. Details matter, but too many details can bog you down. Always keep your final objectives in mind. Stop in the middle of all the details to make certain they are taking you in the direction you intend. Focusing only on details can make us feel overwhelmed. On the other hand, details are important in order to get it done right. So how do you maintain a balance between overview and detail?
Build in reflective pauses to make certain you are still going where you intended to go. Perhaps a new opportunity appears that opens up an entirely unexpected path to consider. Perhaps the path you are on is looking like a dead end. Pause to evaluate where you are in the journey and creatively adjust your choices.
Details matter but don’t let them bog you down, or pull you in a different direction. Periodically rise above the details to make sure you are going where you want and need to go.
What Is Slowing Down The Manifestation Of Your Vision?
In order to manifest a vision, you have to believe you deserve it and you have to believe it can happen. Both of those beliefs will deeply impact the manifestation of your vision.
It’s not so much about keeping your vision within the realms of possibility as it is finding a way to make it feel achievable.
I want to be more mobile but there’s just so much this 91-year-old body can achieve. But I have to do the work. I just have to keep adapting to my dry macular degeneration. I can work to keep things going through diet and movement and intention.
I’m not sure what to do about helping the world. It seems to be getting worse and worse. Do I focus on elevating my energy and expanding it as one of the Light Workers? Or do I focus on sending the energy of change into the hearts of a whole lot of people who are doing the wrong thing? I have to stay open and alert and aware of the signs and signals the universe gives me about my role in helping the planet and its people return to balance.
Check the belief system surrounding your vision. Is it what you believe you deserve and what you believe is possible? How is that impacting your original vision and expectation?
The World Feels Overwhelming
The hatred, the cruelty, the lack of solutions make me feel helpless. I go to my corner and send energy.
I cannot see solutions. I do not understand the rise of hatred against certain races and spiritual groups. I do not understand the violence. I have absolutely no clue how to help.
My role is through my energy work, through my interactions with those around me and through visualization.
What is your role in a world that feels overwhelming?
What Are Your Self-Limiting Beliefs?
This a sneaky one. Our self-limiting beliefs can be subtle and hard to identify. That includes beliefs caused by failures, unfulfilled dreams, grief, and self-limiting beliefs.
Can you just release them as lessons received? Patterns to be identified? Changes to be made?
I have to watch self-limiting beliefs that go along with aging. Perhaps there are things I can no longer expect to do but that do not prevent me from finding creative ways to accomplish the same physical objective.
Be aware of your self-limiting beliefs and work around them.
Use Intention To Make Change
In metaphysics it is our intention that changes the vibration and influences the outcome. Our intention, our thoughts, our words and our actions are all tools by which we surround ourselves with sacred space.
To create change, change your intention, your choices and your actions. My intention to live to 104 puts pressure on me to make the changes that help make that happen. That means stronger physical strengthening to keep my body going that long. It means getting very creative about the gradual change in my eyesight.
But my intention is to be a role model of what is possible as people age. My job is to explore the opportunities inside the openings the universe places before me.
With that goal in mind, I will look at things differently, I will find more ways to make a difference and I will work to create positive outcomes. How do you use your intention to make change?
Take Time To Reflect
Hopefully we learn from our experiences. We learn by reflecting on how things turned out. We learn by reflecting on what we learned, by reflecting on how our choices affected others. Do you take time to reflect on where you are and where you are going?
I keep getting surprise gifts and opportunities in this long-term care facility that I would never have dreamed of and did not expect. I don’t need to take time to reflect on why, I simply accept the gifts from the universe. I do take time to reflect on where I am now and what new paths are opening up to potential choices I can make.
You might choose to journal, you might choose to journey. You might choose to explore the opportunities in options and services. Take time to reflect on where you are and where you want to go. Then do that.
How To Begin a Meditation Practice
Pick a quiet place, close your eyes and follow the rise and fall of your breath. Meditation deepens our awareness of our oneness.
You can sit in the chair with your back straight or you can sit cross-legged on the floor. Place your hands in a mudra position.
Mudras are a symbolic gesture made with the hands and fingers that carry specific goals of channeling your body’s energy flow.
I’m going to suggest you start with the right hand palm up in your lap and placed the left hand palm up with your thumbs touching.

Mudras direct the flow of energy into our body. Mudras are used to generate a specific state of mind during yoga or meditation practice. Because different parts of our hands correlate with specific energy circuits in the body, mudras are powerful ways to stimulate different areas of the brain and nervous system.
For instance the Jñāna mudrā (“mudra of wisdom”) is done by touching the tips of the thumb and the index together, forming a circle, and the hand is held with the palm inward towards the heart.
There are over 100 mudras so experiment to decide which one or two resonate most deeply with you.
When we pay attention to our breath, we are learning how to return to, and remain in, the present moment—to anchor ourselves in the here and now on purpose, without judgement. It promotes mindfulness.
Keep your mind still and your attention focused.
Research shows meditation helps with everything from anxiety and depression to better sleep, lower stress levels, and chronic pain relief. You can start with five minutes of mindful breathing to calm and focus your mind every morning.
I took transcendental meditation 60 years ago and it was suggested that another good time to meditate is when you first come home from work. Meditation is a very centering and calming and focusing bridge to family time and “me” time.
A regular meditation practice will change your life.

Do You Buy Yourself A Gift?
Perhaps it is because I have lived alone for most of my life but I buy myself a birthday gift and a Solstice gift. It is usually something I want rather than just need.
There is a philanthropy group that gives the residents here presents each year. We make out a wish list. My first choice was a pan flute.
Even with that I bought myself a labradorite pendulum and a labradorite hand holder crystal.
If you were going to give yourself a gift, what would it be? Do that…

where something might be planted,

I Feel Helpless And Ineffective
The evil in the world is overwhelming. I feel helpless and ineffective. I go within and try to figure out how I can help.
The first step is to identify what we can and cannot change. My role is primarily one of sending energy and maintaining the highest vibration I can manage so others see it and join me.
It doesn’t feel like enough. But it is what I have to offer and I can get creative in how I use it.
In my day spiritual practice, I send energy to the world – to the planet that needs to heal its environment, to the people who are at war, to all the people who are affected by that, to the people who are working energetically to heal it all.
It’s what I know to do. It’s how I know to help. How do you help heal the world?

How Do I Heal?
First I must heal myself. I must release, cut cords, change views until I can clearly see the path I choose.
