Stay Balanced

Living Your Deeper Song

Ashe
(“Ah-Shay”)
The Creative in me honors the Creative in you!

It is easy to feel overwhelmed by the rapid and dramatic events playing out all over the planet.  There can be a feeling of helplessness at the sheer hugeness of the destruction and dramatic change that is happening on so many levels.  It is a far-reaching and necessary change that is taking place in order to lead us to a new level of understanding and inclusiveness and interconnectedness.  A new level of being. It is a huge step and it is a bumpy ride.

There is a trust factor we must develop here.  As we stay focused on increasing our awareness of everything as one all-inclusive energy, we must monitor our beliefs and keep going in the direction of this unexpected and  unpredictable unfolding, trusting the Universe to both guide us and guard us.

It helps to remember that we don’t need to completely understand what is happening right now, nor do we need to be able to predict the future. Our job is to deepen our own vibrational awareness of the whole universe being one interconnected energy. We immerse ourselves in the vibration of oneness by monitoring our thoughts and expectations, expanding our inner inclusive awareness with meditation, journaling, and reading words that inspire us, that help us move us to that place of All-ness that is already within us, just waiting for us to choose to  reside in it. Move your being into Centered Oneness. All is well in our world.

DEEPER SONG AFFIRMATION

I move within to find the wholeness and unity of our Cosmic Oneness.

DEEPER SONG PROCESS

  • Sit in meditation and experience yourself as absorbed in the vast Oneness, the wholeness of All-That-Is.
  • As you sit in wholeness ask how you are to express that wholeness in  your life here on the planet.

The Two Vital Sides of Your Spiritual Practice

A Deeper Song Insight

I stopped cold when I heard this.  I had never before thought of my spiritual life in this manner and it helped me make some important new choices for my spiritual development.

There are two aspects to our spiritual practice, one is to deepen your own embodiment of our connection with spirit and the other is to deepen our connection with source.  Those are two different focuses in our spiritual development. We want to be certain we are addressing both aspects.  Let’s figure out how together.

===INNER WORK===

We Never Know What Lives We Touch

John came to fix my refrigerator.  He fixes everything around here.  When he was finished he told me that when he sweeps the halls on Thursday and I am playing my flutes, he stops, leans up against the wall, and just listens.

I had no idea.

I showed him my flutes and when he emails me I will send him links to where I got them.

His comment prompted me to deepen my own experience by getting out the drumming tracks I have that both stimulate and inspire my flute playing.  I had a lovely session and vowed to use the drumming tracks more often.

We both gained from that share.  You just never know how we touch the lives of another and how their life will touch you back.

Identify Your Path

Because I am in the process of change, I write things down so I can clarify my thoughts and notice my progress.  I am using  the Fall Equinox to begin to chronicle this next period of personal observation. Because it is a time of harvest I can see what I have grown this year and it is an opportunity for me to be very still and listen to the inner change that is happening within me. I’m getting insights about where I’m headed, but the path has yet to be  revealed.

Create a place on your desktop to capture your illuminating thoughts as you journey through your day and review them on a regular basis in order to to deepen  your understanding of the unfolding message the universe keeps offering.

Here’s my current understanding of my unfolding path: “Your task is to develop your intuition and spiritual awareness. Successful navigation of this leads to a new sense of oneness with the universe.”

I’m up for that!

Define Your Role

A close friend is evolving as she changes into the new role she will take in her retirement.  As we look for words to describe what she is going to do I realized that how we are willing to define ourselves is important. How we see ourselves can be uplifting or it can hold us back, tie us down.  For instance, it took me a while to accept that I was indeed a “spiritual explorer”.  The table “metaphysical philosopher” took some growing into.

Try on a descriptive name and see how it feels. Explore and see how the phrase feels and fits. Sometimes we have to grow into a title we want or choose.

How do you define your work, your place of service, and does it need to change to allow for more room for expansion?

===OUTER  WORK===

Enrichment

I’ve been watching a lot of Animal Planet lately and much of the conversation is about how to add enrichment to the lives of the animals. That often means mental stimulation or a new addition to their habitat that encourages physical development or natural instincts. So I begin to look at the word enrichment for me. “The act of imposing or enhancing the quality or value of something.” I wondered what I actively chose to do that enriches my life.

Enrichment can be about learning something.  It can be about adding to something that is already established.  I have added more TM meditation time and it is enriching my spiritual practice. I work at adding forms of movement to enrich and empower my body to move more easily.  I’m listening to more classical music to affect my mood.

I want to establish a time for more enriching study.  I am working on adding focused strengthening movement in my day – like a regular Qi Gong practice.  I have room for a lot of new and stimulating choices. I take time to go exploring and see what resonates.

What areas of your life need enrichment?  What are you going to do to deepen your experience and expansion?

Are You Spending Your Time Wisely?

I’m not.  I waste time  I spend time doing things that don’t really move me forward. I need to change that.

Begin with your priorities.  I now have a physical therapist coming weekly for a few months to help me stand up straighter so I know that I want to consciously change my schedule to take advantage of that support and the exercises she gives me to perform.

I want to adjust my day to include a more focused meditation period that does not end up as napping in a chair. I want to establish a learning period each day in which I read the books I have chosen to deepen my awareness and insights. I always have time to write because I love to do that.  I am driven to create and record and edit my podcasts on a timely basis as part of my self-expression.  I just have to make room for and find the prompts for new things – physical movement and meditation.  Talk about contrast…

What do you want to make room for? Look over your days to see how you need to adjust your schedule and identify some marker/prompts to help you fit in all that you want to do.

===DEEPEN  YOUR SPIRITUAL PRACTICE===

Send Healing Vibration to Your Body

It’s probably because my body is rather rickety at this point in time, but I am using more sound healing and directing it to specific places on and in my body. We always put an intention with a humming sound like the intention of balancing, of clearing out, or strengthening. Use an intentional hum to send focused energy to both known and unknown parts of your body. Sound goes everywhere. When I hum to my hips I know that it’s going to get bones and cells and muscles and  ligaments – whatever needs healing. How are you working to self heal your body?

===OUR EVOLVING FUTURE===

The Way It Was

“The world that is dying also contains within it the future seeds of a new world.” – Jean Houston.

Things will not ever be the way they were and that is a good thing.  That means we are learning and exploring and evolving.  This is a time of dramatic evolution and we must welcome it and explore the many unfolding opportunities.

Be like a wet dog shaking her whole body to get the water off.  Shake out your life.  Shake off the doubts and stagnation of your life  and enjoy a clean start.

Everything is changing and we must change with it.  We have beliefs and choices within these revolving circumstances that we must question – like letting go of methods and ideas that are harmful or obsolete or have flat out been proven to be incorrect. Welcome each day with a fresh look and  a lot of questions.  Is this how I want to feel?  Is that what I believe? What have I learned today that I want to build on, to absorb into my life? Let go of the way it was and start building the way it is going to be.

===CARA’S CORNER===

Weakened from Disuse

The physical therapist said that the upper part of my legs were stiff from lack of use. That made a lot of sense. I sit a lot. What else have I let move into disuse in my life as I age? I’m not walking as much. I don’t go anyplace because I no longer have a car. Covid sort of stopped the social activities. I have some work to do in order to create a viable day that is balanced and contains all the elements I need. The physical activity. The interaction. The spiritual activity. The creative choices.

What areas of your life have become weakened by lack of use and how are you rectifying that?

===SING A DEEPER SONG ===

The Forgotten Corner

It lay in the corner alone and forgotten.

It lay in the corner alone and forgotten. When I finally noticed it, I knew I wanted to bring it back into my life.

It lay in the corner alone and forgotten. When I finally noticed it, I knew I wanted to bring it back into my life. I turned, scooped it up, and gave it a great welcoming hug.

All is again well in my world.

Life Lessons from a Lump of Clay

An Exploration of the Unseen World

Sometimes it seems like there is no rhyme nor reason why our lives are the way they are  Or how we turned out the way we did.  But rehire is.  There are choices and beliefs and interacdtions that created our path, our journey. We are exactly where we should be considering what we thought and did.

There are many circumstances pushing and shoving and moving and shaping our life  It helps to think about some of them and where they might lead.

The Choices We Make

The Choices We Make

Insights From A Deeper Song

Ashe
(“Ah-Shay”)
The Creative in me honors the Creative in you!

I have journeyed a lot lately to understand what I am to do in my “next”.  And each time I am given many choices.  I am standing on a point in time with man options open to me.

Eileen Cady, Founder of Findhorn in her book Opening Doors Within said, “Expect the best.  Do not settle for second best.”  So I stand on my point in time and choose the best.

What two or three things are most important to you at this point in time? If an idea like “money” comes up take a step further to see what you want money to secure for you – safety, health, adventure?  If it is “health” begin to picture yourself in your natural state of wellness. Focus on what you want to attract, not how it is to be attracted.

Then do the work.  I want my body to be stronger and straighter and I have specific choices to make and work to do to help it make that change.

I want to see clearly within and within. I’m doing better with seeing within. Not sure what to do about the physical  change in “without.”

Take the steps you can and then get very creative about how you seek out the more elusive aspects of your choices.

We are each standing on one point in time. Our next step creates a new path.  It takes us in the particular direction of our choice. There is no going back but there are new trails to follow.

Take a step and see what new vistas open up for you.  Do you need to take another step in that direction or do you explore that side trail over there? Look at the view from where you stand now and see what is available to you.  Then chose what step to take.

Where are you choosing to go next?  What path do you follow?

DEEPER SONG AFFIRMATION

I pause to consider the possibilities of each choice before I take my next step.

DEEPER SONG PROCESS

  • What are three basic elements you want in your life right now?
  • Choose one and from a place of centered focus, look over the possibilities that seem to be available.
  • Listen to your heart, your inner wisdom and take a step.
  • Check out the new options that have opened up with that one steep.
  • Repeat as you will.

THE SUNCATCHER

I pulled out my paper calendar to look at the month that is unfolding and suddenly there were rainbows all over it. It was a sign, a sign of the month to come and its many blessings.  I have several sun-catchers in m window and rainbows often dance across my room. But these rainbows were on the month that is unfolding. Blessing it. Holding open portals for me to go through.

What rainbows dance across your month?  What do you do with them?

INCLUSIVENESS

I had no idea the US was as split in half as it is. It feels like it is me against we.  Not a good feeling.

I journeyed in my dismay and was shown that my job right not is to monitor my thoughts because our thoughts create our reality.  Our most powerful change-maker is our thoughts.

I begin to visualize our world as healing, coming together for the highest good of all. Learning to be more compassionate, more inclusive  All of is.  Each of us.

I’m going to add more pauses in my day to simply breathe and be present and focus on our Oneness.

Change your thinking, change your life.

***

OUR FOUNDATION

My body is making some changes as my hips organically realign and I realized how important our foundation is.  As  the foundation that is my hips changes, I can stand more upright.  My body is remembering how I once stood.

What is the foundation you stand on now? Physically are you keeping your body strong?  Spiritually are you exploring new paths? How are you changing, rearranging, strengthening your foundation to carry you forward?

***

HOW DO YOU ACCEPT ACKNOWLEDGMENTS?

Forty years ago in New York City in an est communication workshop, I was partnered with a young man I had never met before. We sat in chairs facing each other (as did the whole room) and took turns giving each other compliments. I felt myself energetically stopping each compliment before they even got to me. And that, of course, was the point of that exercise.  How we stop comments.  Is it because we don’t believe we desire them?  Is it because we are shy?  I began to watch how my friends did or did not accept a compliment.  Most of us flunked.

Somewhere in m life in NYC , I began an acknowledgment journal. I wrote down what someone said, their name and  the date.  What I learned was what others saw in me that I did not.

I now keep acknowledgements I receive on my computer and periodically it feels important for me to go read them – to reassure myself I’m on the right track and to see what I am doing that is working for others.

Begin an acknowledgement page. This is not an ego thing it is an “I didn’t know that about thyself” thing.

Discover what you do not see in yourself. Then act on it.

Black new anchor, Van Jones responds to US Election  Important.

OUR EVOLVING FUTURE

When it feels like your fate lies in the hands of others you have to believe three are enough aware people to keep the world on a positive track. I write this the day before the US election where the fate of our entire democracy hinges on how this election goes.

And I am one vote.  And it has been cast.

Are there enough people who want to be unified again?  Are there enough people who are compassionate enough to want to equal the playing field and help everyone reach a level of sustainability?  Are there enough good people to correct our course?

So many new doors are opening to help us save the environment.  We just have to take them.  We have more power over this worldwide crisis that we fully grasp.  Countries like Australia and New Zealand have the virus under control.  There are examples of the steps to be taken.  We just have to take them.  As a whole country.  As a whole world.

In this evolving world, we are to learn from each other.  We are to listen and look and learn and follow those who are accomplishing what we want for our country.  And  that involves group consciousness.

Our role is to raise our own vibration.  We do that with mindful intention and conscious choices.  That builds a higher vibration of positivity and attracts others who are ready to heed the call to oneness, to a world-wide community that turns its attention toward healing – healing the planet, healing its inhabitants.

We must turn our gaze. We must focus on wholeness, on unanimity, or creating a world of equality.  That is what we are changing in the here and now.  We must heed the call. We must do the work. Here and now.

***

DEEPEN YOUR SPIRITUAL PRACTICE

Breath is an extremely powerful centering tool for your spiritual practice.  Pause.  Take a deep breath and let go. Feel yourself settling into a more cheered, tranquil place.

All because you paused to take a breath.  Sprinkle mindful breaths throughout your day.

CARA’S CORNER

RETHINK OUR HERE AND NOW

The US is more divided than I knew. My eyesight needs me to make specific changes in what I offer and how I do it. My body is doing good things but odd things. I have some adjustments to make in the here and now.

Stop where you are and look around. How has it changed for you? What is working? What is not working?  Make some plans and take some steps to experiment.

Begin with making room for the new.  That means clearing some things out, letting go.  Do that physically and mentally and emotionally. Let go of beliefs that turn out to be incorrect or uninformed.  Let go of those that are so ingrained that you barely notice them.  Look at every aspect of or life and make new choices.

Invite change into your life.

What are Your Beliefs about Your Future?

September 20, 2020 By Cara Lumen

What ae Your Beliefs about Your Future?

Insights from a Deeper Song

Ashe
(“Ah-Shay”)
The Creative in me honors the Creative in you!

Our beliefs create our life experience so it is impotent that you and I look carefully at what we believe is in the process of evolving, where we think we are going to fit in, and what it will look like because of our thinking and our expectation. Our beliefs have the power to change the trajectory of our future.

In my Shamanic Circle with Hank Wesselman he quotes some interesting authors who said that in our “next”, we seem to go where we believe we will go.  Now that’s very inserting. That means if we change our belief here and now, it will change our “next”.

Well, we know that to be true in this lifetime. It makes sense that it is true in the next.

Another point the class offered was that hunters and gatherers did not believe in higher powers, they knew very well the spirit of nature and communicated with those spirits for guidance and insights.  It was a very shamanistic existence – communing with nature.

Religious belief systems seem to reflect back the basic characteristics of the social order in which they appear. The more hierarchal and structured the culture becomes the more hierarchal and structured the region is.

Now that’s very interesting. I was looking at where my belief system fit in. I’m very drawn to Taoism which recognizes that there is an ongoing flow of energy form to energy form.  There is no higher or lower energy. There is simply Tao.  All that is.  I am dawn to that. In Unity and zen Buddhism, the natural and the supernatural are not different, they are seen as different aspects of the same thing. Ernest Holmes who taught the work of Thomas Troward to form Science of Mind was trained by some of the same people the founders of Unity were.  I immersed myself deeply in the world of Troward and Holmes in what is now called Center for Light Living.

All religions have a system of ethics that is based on the beliefs of their social stratification. Have and have nots or one communal tribe.

When I try to imagine where this group of humanity may be headed as we move into this huge reposition, I begin by looking at our system of conduct.  I realized that we find ourselves separated into two major groups depending on our belief – one group believes in a social hierarchy and another group has an awareness of all being one.

I already know that those of us who are working with vibration and the concept of raising our vibration, understand, and experience each other as one big web of energy. We are also aware that what we do affects the whole. We are in a minority and there is no way I could go have a conversation with people who are not on this individualistic, stand-alone path that would make much sense to them.  I’m sitting here in the conservative Mid-West with not a lot of takers here for this raise your vibration stuff.  However, according to HeartMath.org, every thought in our heart connects 100 thousand hearts around us.  We have work to do.

I find like-minded people all around the world. We find each other on the internet; truly the world wide web. We share with each other.  We bolster each other. We work with each other. We raise our vibration together.

What do I do for our planet right now?  I am to keep raising my own vibration so others see it. I explore the unseen world and share what I find with others so they recognize our collective light in themselves and chose to raise their own vibration.

Not all of us are on this journey together and that is just the way it is supposed to be.

I don’t know what our world and our lives will look like as this new era evolves.  But I know that as I deepen my awareness of my inner world, as I actually explore the 95% that is the Unseen world, I am given new awareness, new ideas for an action show up, and when I act on what I am shown, I will be shown where I am to go next.

We each have our own life expressions to work with.  Our own beliefs, our own actions, our own choices. We are to keep listening to our inner wisdom, keep choosing for our highest good, and stay open to new insights and ideas and realizations that are unfolding in this New Era.

Change is constant.  Change is exciting.  Change is unsettling.  Change is good.

We are evolving into a higher vibration.  Yeah us.
And the adventure has just begun…

FIND THE ENERGY POINTS

I have begun to put my drumming back into my spiritual practice.  It was talking up a lot of time first thing and I was eager to get to my creative work so I dropped it for a while.  I needed to find a new energy point for it. Now to begin my day I sit looking out the window and play all there flutes and I have recently begun to sing a song of intention to my day.
When I realized I was ready to put the drumming back in my day, I began to look for the right energy point.  A synergetic meeting of energy and willingness….!

If you have a habit or a practice you want to establish, look at the places in your day where you are energetically willing to put them.

I have some exercises tied in with the action of making my bed.  I have some stretching moves ties in with being at the kitchen sink while waiting for my tea to brew.

I want to put Qi Gong back and just discovered that each time I return to my computer I am to look out at nature and do some Qi Gong moves first.  Each time. Several times a day.  It’s a perfect energy point for mindful movement.

Decide what still point you want to add to your day, what it will look like, how long it will take. Will it change your rhythm and therefore be welcome?  Move from sedentary to action and back to sedentary. Can you combine things or do they need to be separate?  What is their purpose – to stimulate or calm or center or strengthen? What is the reminder prompt for you?

Expand what you are doing now. I walk down the hall to get my mail in the late afternoon.  I’m going to expand that – walkup up and down the hallway several times.  I can also change the rhythm of that walking – mindfully or rapidly or a combination.

Choose the practices that call to you, that works for you that resonates with you, and begin to add them to your day one at a time until they are security embedded.

I have m daily shamanic journey tucked in at 1230 or so.  What do you want in your spiritual practice and where do you want to put it that you can immerse yourself in it?  I have several mindful sill points in my day.

Tune in to the energy of your day and identify the energy points that call for you to change your energy.  Then do that/

TRADITION VERSUS CREATIVITY

I currently live in the conservative mid-west.  I have lived on both coasts which is where I truly belong.  But this is an old-age choice because my daughter lives here.

I was thinking about tradition and how relieved my son-in-law seemed when we established that my time for Christmas with them was breakfast on Christmas Eve morning for – my choice – pancakes and fresh pineapple and real maple syrup. He even pointed out that we now have a tradition established.  He and my daughter have lots of traditions. It is how they want it.  But it occurred to me that by doing something the same way each time you limit your ability to explore and expand and create.  And I love to do all of those. So I am not a fan of tradition. I prefer improvisation – making stuff up in the moment.

I learned to disregard holidays when I lived alone in New York City.  I bought myself a birthday present and a Christmas present but beyond that, I just lived my life.

I rebel at all the holidays.  I don’t like to be told what to do on a specific day, who to honor, how to celebrate.  So I don’t.  I honor Winter Solstice instead of Christmas.  I honor Sprint Equinox instead of Easter.  You get the picture.  I go back to my pagan roots and take my cues from nature.

I’m looking at shamanism the same way.  I do not want to go back and learn the details and traditions that have evolved over the generations.  I want to underhand the intention and ask my current spiritual awareness to get me where I need to go.

Guess I’m still a rebel in my wold – at least a non-conformist, an independent thinker.

I’m also am not one to dwell on the past, except for the lessons I learned and the changes my choices made in the unfolding of my life’s journey that I can build on now.  I am both eager and content to live in the present moment.  To reposition myself in the now based on my insights and needs.  I live in the moment and respond from an ever-deepening awareness of my inner guidance.

Perhaps you want to examine the traditions you have and see if and how you want to reframe them.  What do you need to create in your “now?”

EXERCISE YOUR LUNGS

I woke up in this middle of the night with shortness of breath and it scared me. I’m going to make a really lousy old person because I didn’t like it.  I did some online research to see what it was and I don’t know but it did make me realize that I am not exercising my lungs.  No aerobics, no long walks.  No wonder my lungs woke up grouchy.  So I went online and the first thing I found was 6 Breathing Exercises for Older Adults

Heres’ the one I have begun to work with.

Breathing from the Chinese practice of Tai Chi.

This involves taking three short breaths

Breath  One – raise, your arms shoulder height in front of you,

Breath Two – pull your arms out to shoulder height at your sides

Breath three raise your arms  above your head.

Then slowly exhale and lower your arms back down to your sides.

Try 10-12 repetitions. If you get light headed, stop the exercise.

There is a diaphragmatic breathing exercise I learned in Bikram Yoga (Hot yoga) that I really like.  While standing, bend forward to put your hands on your knees and do diaphragmatic breathing. Breath in and contract your diaphragm, breathe out through your open mouth and release your diaphragm. It’s a bit like slow panting. Feel your diaphragm actively and energetically go in and out.   I do 50 repetitions.

I’m going to put that one back into my day.

My healer friend Christina Gerber suggested that placing your fingers at the base of your sternum is calming as you breathe.

Also holding your lung points inside your shoulders (at the hollows here) helps give you deeper breaths.

Notice what you have stopped doing as you age and find a version you can still do and then do it.

Beaching is a pretty core activity….!

HEALING

Healing is about bringing back something that is missing.  I’m not sure where I heard this concept but I made a note of it to explore.

The first missing thing that comes to mind is balance. When things are out of balance everything is affected.

I’ve been working with a tilted right pelvis that got untitled in recent healing so in theory that puts me back in balance.  Now, of course, the muscles in the other leg are hollering loudly because they have to work differently than hey had become accustomed to. And as my hips align my spine is straightening above it.  It too is grouchy. It’s all related as balance continues to come back into place.

Healing is about bringing back something that is missing.  We have lots of emotional things a bit out of balance with the isolation of the pandemic.  Look closely to see what that is.  I have had three in-person in-depth conversions in the past six months.  Fortunately, I have friends with whom I speak on Zoom on a regular basis.

What is missing? What is out of balance?  I do not have a good balance between writing and exercise and taking care of my food/home care needs.
Consider actions.  One of the ways I have learned to rebalance my body is to do leg lifts to the back and knee raises to the front, and standing sit-ups from a chair.

What do you need to add that is the opposite of what you are doing/feeling too much of?

Healing is about bringing back something that is missing.  What is missing in your life?

ARE WE RAINBOW WARRIORS?

In my early shamanic journeying years ago one of my first guides was a  young man I called Rayne. He said he was a Rainbow Warrior. I had not heard that term before and I had no idea what it meant so I look it up.  Notice what it says about the world today. I think we are all Rainbow Warriors…. OUR EVOLVING FUTURE  – NEW VARIABLES

New variables are like the wind shifting and we have to adjust our sails. Or the wind comes and you have to take shelter, or the sky clears and you take a nap under a tree. Different “climates” illicit different responses.  We are continually coming across new variables in our life.  We have great choices in what we do with them.

Here’s the trick.  We get to change but we also get to bring with us what is the most nurturing, the most interesting aspect of what we have going on in our lives.

For instance, my switch to podcasts brings with it the same exploration and discovery I have in my posts but speaking those words adds a tangible vibration that elevates the experience.  The variable is the format. The message is the same.

In the course of exploring new variables, build on what you love.
Reframe how you see what you do.  I teach all the time but I teach it once and move on to the next discovery. So while I definitely do not want to teach Life 101 over and over, there are fundamental concepts that I bring forward into all my work.  I teach, but it’s an ongoing discovery process for both of us.

The variables you embrace are to strengthen your journey.  Learning a new skill comes to mind.  I’m getting better at recording and editing and that may open up some new opportunities for me.  I know I’m going to create some introspective processes in my podcasts. I started a new weekly Meaningful Pause offering because I wanted to add more mindful still points to my own life so I’m teaching and I’m leaning at the same time.  I  always teach what I want to learn.

Variables could be a physical change. More exercise, better food, finding more friends. Each change you make changes the dynamic of the whole you.

Evaluate what you leave behind.  What does your new choice replace?  Maybe you have to create some sort of revolving cycle so you keep the things you love in your life. I still have some books to put up on Amazon.  A c couple of days work would make that happen.  I want to add more movement in m life.  Getting the links to the exercise videos I have chosen would be an easy starting place.  I want to cook more for myself, I just have to find the right time of the day to do that.

If you are lonely, reach out.  If you are bored, learn something.  We have a huge ability to change our lives.  What variables do you want to bring into your life and what will they do for you?  Do that.

CARA’S CORNER

OUR ROLE IN THE NEW CONSCIOUSNESS

In a recent journey, I asked why there was so much negativity in the world today.

The answer was both reassuring and a call to action.

“This is a time for the establishment of higher group consciousness.  Help shine your light brighter so others can see and make their choice. There are levels the group consciousness must reach. There’s a shift of consciousness that is taking place for those who are willing to change that will lift the vibration of the planet. This is a test of consciousness.  Can this planet rise to the occasion as a collective?  You are being tested. Keep focusing on the greater good.”

On one hand, I feel better.  On the other, there is work to do.
What I visualize is a field of golden consciousness, a high vibration that is encircling the planet  As people join in it shines brighter and others see it and recognize that light in themselves. Then they raise their consciousness and their vibration and join us. But what I have begun to consider is that we in this Collective Consensus of Raised Vibration may find ourselves separated from the planet or in an alternate reality or –  I don’t know.  I just see a group bonding that will strengthen us and also separate us from lower vibration.  On one hand, we will be safe.  And we have work to do to get there.

My mind just flashed on he hunters and gathers where each person participates for the good of the collective.  This new change may be a conscious version of that.  Working for the collective, the continuing raised vibration of the collective, the continued awareness of being one energy that the group continues to embrace as their new reality.
I am ready to live in that awareness, that world, that consciousness of our oneness.

It helps me to rise about the chaos of the planet and move into an internal still point and feel and hear and see and experience us all as one high vibration. As we sit here we impact each other and our collective vibration raises.  I am very willing to live in that world with other points of light.
This is a shift in consignees we are going through.  Raise your thoughts.   Raise your vibration.

The Path We Choose

An Exploration of the Unseen World

We are responsible for the journey we take.  We are responsible for the path we choose. We choose what we bring with us in our backpack and we are responsible for how willing we are to keep going.

Years ago, when I left the Mid-west to move to New York City, a friend gave me a copy of the Robert Frost Poem “The Road Less Traveled.”  50 years later it still hangs on my wall. It has lived on both coasts and is now back the Mid-West – a circuitous route, truly a road less traveled.

And I am forever grateful that I had the courage to take the Road Less Traveled.

We make our choices. We reap the response. With each choice, we learn how to choose better and we keep on going.

Where are you on your journey?  What new options are you considering?  Where are you headed?

I’m Cara Lumen, spiritual philosopher and founder of the Deeper Song Community. I am a cosmic explorer who consciously travels into the unseen world to serve as a bridge to help us expand our relationship with the spiritual world. I share what I learn and guide those who are ready to the next level so we can sing a deeper song.  Thank you for being a part of this journey

In this episode of Reflections of a Deeper Song, we think about The Path We Choose.

This is a translation of a poem by Antonio Machado.  When I first heard it I cried.  It is called “Traveler.”

Traveler, your footsteps are the road
There is nothing more.
Traveler there is no road.
The road is made by walking.
 Walking makes the road.
And if you turn around you only see the path you can never walk again.
Traveler, there is no road, only a trace of foam upon the sea

Let me read it again:

Traveler, your footsteps are the road
There is nothing more.
Traveler there is no road.
The road is made by walking.
 Walking makes the road.
And if you turn around you only see the path you can never walk again.
Traveler, there is no road, only a trace of foam upon the sea

There is a sadness about never going back. There is a challenge in knowing your next step is creating your new path.

Let’s see hat we can learn from this poem:

What is our read made of? What choices have you made that brought you to where you are today?

How do we make our road? If each step is responsible for creating our path, how aware are you of the next step you are taking?

Finally, what are our choices about directing our path? How do we make them?  How do we choose?

What is our read made of?

“Traveler, your footsteps are the road
There is nothing more.”

With each step, we create the path we take. Our choice directs were we go next.  Now that is very important to know.   That means that in every move we have choice . Choice to go one way or another, we get to take the path that goes up or the path that goes down or left or right or straight ahead.

With each step in each moment, we are creating our path.  Each thought creates our next experience. We can control that.  The deeper the awareness we have of our own heart, our own purpose,  the more aligned is the step we take as we make our road one chosen step at a time.

Do we stand still on our road? If only footsteps make the road, then standing still to consider, to contemplate before we choose our next step is a good thing to do.  But we don’t move forward until we take that next step.  That next step creates our road.

How do we make our road?

We have created where we are stanging today through the choices we did or did not make. I am deeply aware that some of my choices were made with more awareness than others.  And some steps were taken in response to an experience.  We each create our own path by the choices we do or do not make. The steps we do or do not take.

“Traveler there is no road.
The road is made by walking.
Walking makes the road.”

If I stand here doing nothing, I am not traveling, I am not moving forward.  “The road is made by walking.” So I have to take a step. I have to make a choice. I have to put one foot in front o the other and look to see where it has taken me.  I have to see if it is aligned with my beliefs and if it is taking me where I want to go, to what I want to do.

I can only move forward by taking a step, and then another step and then another step. “Walking makes the road.”

We need to try, we need to explore, we need to experiment. We have to move forward in order to learn, to understand, to experience, and to absorb.  That’s a lot from one step. But even one step provides us with a new view.

“Traveler there is no road.
The road is made by walking.
Walking makes the road.”
And we cannot walk the path again .”

There is no going back. What’s done is done.  Learn from it, change from it, and build on what you learned – but you cannot go back and change it .

“And if you turn around you only see the path you can never walk again.
Traveler, there is no road, only a trace of foam upon the sea.”

How delicate is our journey.  We have left ripples with our footsteps but those ripples are long gone.  We have survived the high seas of our journey, the high tides, the low tides, but there are no traces of our path, our footsteps, our traveling though left to see.  Only in your heart, only in your memory, only in your regrets only in your knowledge that you made good choices. You walked a strong path.  And those steps of the past are not your next step.  They are gone.  Past moments in time that has dissolved.

It’s as if we are standing on a ledge of time with only a next step to take.  We can choose a new direction. We can choose a big step or a small step, a hesitant step, or a bold one.  We can go in one direction or the other. But the only way our road unfolds is if we take a step.

Here’s the Robert Frost that still hangs on my wall and live in my heart.

The Road Not Taken

BY ROBERT FROST

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Traveler, your footsteps are the road
There is nothing more.
Traveler there is no road.
The road is made by walking.
 Walking makes the road.
And if you turn around you only see the path you can never walk again.

Traveler, there is no road, only a trace of foam upon the sea
