On the surface, the shift is fairly subtle. And yet where it is going to take us is monumental. One step in a new direction and you end up on an entirely new journey. That’s exciting. And it’s good to know how much difference one step will make.

We are surrounded by new small steps to take. New venues to explore. New realizations that open unexpected doors. We are to be willing to go exploring because one step on a new path can completely change not only our journey but our destination.

So how do we do that? Pay attention. This idea for a process podcast has sent me soaring in a new direction. And when I rushed and captured all the ideas that had come flooding in, and paused for even a split second, I received directions to a new journey I am to explore and consider. Pay attention.

The more I listen the more I hear. The more I pay attention to my Inner Voice, it not only becomes louder, but it speaks in complete sentences. Almost in outline form. “Here, this is what you know you’re going to do next.”  Y our inner voice gets clearer with usage.

Take one small step and look around. That one step will have you facing a new direction, it will give you a different viewpoint. It will open up new vistas.  You will see the world differently.  It will be full of new possibilities.  One step in any direction. One step of exploration. It opens up new vistas, new possibilities. 

You don’t have to continue on that path. But you do need to look around. Maybe take another step in that new direction, maybe turn in still another direction while standing in that new viewpoint and go exploring there. The point is to keep looking around. To keep moving forward. The point is to keep taking a next step. One step in a new direction will totally change your experience and the outcome. Go adventuring. A new world awaits.

Connect With the Land Around You

Even living in the middle of New York City, I found a way to connect with the earth, PachaMama, Gaia. Central Park was a block away from my apartment. But I could still feel the earth beneath the concrete. 

Take time to connect with and appreciate the land you live on. Feel that energy coming up from the center of the earth to balance and restore and heal. I have a great tree outside my window and I often think of her roots and how far they reach. I see her branches respond to the wind and the sun.  This was Indian land here in Kansas and about a mile away there is a museum that was the last stagecoach stop before you really took off to the wilderness. And I have been across Kansas. It is flat as a pancake. And I have been across the Continental Divide and it is not!

Take time to  simply walk on the earth. When was the last time you stood bare foot in the grass? When was the last time you sat in the dark and listened to nature move around you or watch the moon rise? Talk to the earth where you live. Ask it who lived there before you. My building is on a slight crest of the hill and I like to think of Indians meeting here to have a celebration. Talk to your land. Ask for her message. Connect with her ongoing and deep support.

Who Do You Choose to Serve?

It was the end of my Reiki Teacher Training in the ’80s. We stood in a circle and each new teacher shared how we were going to use Reiki in service. The person right before me said, “I’m going to teach Reiki to all the poor people.” And I knew that was not for me. I said, “I am going to teach those who are already flying high so that they can fly higher and reach more people.” And that has been the guideline that I have followed for the last 30 years. I am an explorer. I need to keep learning. As I move more deeply into creating more Deeper Song Guided Journeys, the ideas are pouring in. There is no going back. There is no teaching at a beginner level. There is only flying onward from where I stand now. Who do you choose to serve? How high do you want to fly?

What Did You Discover From All this Isolation?

As the ban is gradually lifted and we can resume or return to some version of our previous life, what do we want to change? We have been very creative in how we do our work or buy our groceries.  We have had a lot of together time to adjust to or a lot of alone time to figure out.  It’s not going to be the same because we have changed in the past year.  Our values are different. Our expectations are different. And the opportunities that await us are quite different. 

How has this time to adjust and contemplate and rethink affected your choices? People are changing jobs. They’re starting their own business.  They are learning new skills They have learned to be more agile online. They are rethinking their priorities. They’re beginning to experience life on their own terms. How are you doing with that?

What We Look For We Find 

What are you focusing on? Out of all the myriad of opportunities and places you can focus your attention, how do you choose? How do you begin to discern which steps to take and which steps to leave behind?

I’ve had the opportunity to be on several types of free online summits with about 30 speakers in each. And because there are so many summits  and speakers, I really have to choose where I place my time and attention.

What guides your choices? What are you looking for? Be discerning in your choice of focus. As I deepen my ability to listen to my inner voice it offers me very specific nudges and an occasional bop on the head.  It demands my attention. It is very clear about what I should be paying attention to. Know what is for you and what is not. Be discerning. Choose wisely with the time you have to focus on what you want to learn next.

I skipped one whole summit because it didn’t call to me deeply enough at this point in time. I immersed myself in the recent Qi Gone Summit through the Shift Network and in the very first talk, I lend some life-changing moves and found access to a new teacher. I took a one-time flute class from a new person. Know your priorities. And follow them.

I also have to look at how I spend my time. What choices do I make? What question do I choose to answer, what projects do I focus on and undertake and complete? Be discerning in what you choose to study and explore, and complete. Keep an eye on where you were headed. And choose only the steps that keep you moving in that direction.

Around The World

It always intrigues me when someone joins the Deeper Song Community for Australia, or Africa, or other continents. It is fascinating that I can sit her in ma apartment in the middle of the US and connect with people around the globe.  We are light beings connecting with other, light beings who have work to do as a conscious collective.  How exciting.

Our Expanding Consciousness

As I move more deeply into these inner world journeys, I realize that what we are doing, you and I, is to expand our consciousness. Our role in this incredibly changing world is to be a point of light. A steady point of light emanating the most powerful vibration so others see that in themselves and move forward to access it and work with it. We are messengers. We are guides. And our job is to keep moving into a deeper awareness of ourselves as the highest vibration there is so others see it and know that about themselves. We are points of light calling to other points of light. Shine on!

Consistency

We need to keep  consistency in our focus. We need to keep consistency in our direction. We need to keep some consistency in our beliefs of what is possible and what we are to do a service. I drew the Oracle card consistency for the Deeper Song Community.

My visit to the naturopath offered some ideas of mew things I can do on a consistent basis. I found some Qi Gong moves in the Shift Network QI Gong Summit that I want to add consistently to my life. Being consistent doesn’t mean we don’t get to question what shows up, it means we are more consistent in observing and examining the opportunities that show up. Whatever we chose we have to d give time to take root so we can truly see its potential. My favorite use of the concept of consistency is to constantly listen to the guidance of my inner voice. The more I listen, the more I hear…

Continued Change

Change keeps coming so all I know to do is to stay observant. And to consider what is offered. I am moving from exploring the unseen world to exploring cosmic consciousness. Talk about giant steps. As I edit some of the podcasts I recorded earlier, they pale in comparison to the process podcasts that I’m doing now.  I have moved one. I prefer the process podcast. Wherever they take us. I’m staying flexible. I’m staying aware and observant. And I’m feeling my way into this change. How does this idea feel? How does this idea resonate? Where does this idea take me? Is that where I want to go? What am I missing? I’m not attached to a particular idea or direction, but I am continuously curious. And most of all I am very, very open to new ideas, new ways of thinking, and new ways of being.
