The Path Above the Chaos
Creating Conscious Connection
Ashe
(“Ah-Shay”)
The Creative in me honors the Creative in you!
I spent a lot of time listening to speakers on the Shaman Wisdom Summit on The Shift Network recently. I was looking for help. I wanted to find the path above the chaos. I wanted to walk it. And show others the way.
I found several answers. The first from Sandra Ingerman was that this was a period of dismemberment which is a shamanic practice of releasing, letting go and destroying old patterns and beliefs and ways of being. We do that in a dismemberment journey – dissolve who we are so we can emerge as cleared, pristine energy from which to build anew. We let go of our humanness, identify our core soul calling and begin to build from there. Erase and start over. Start with a clean slate. What will you choose to put into your cleared space?
The second idea came from Andrew Harvey and Mirabai Starr and it was to actively connect with nature to experience a direct visceral awareness of the interconnectedness of all life. To experience our role as elements of nature and understand our responsibility as part of the nature community. We must connect with life itself. Honor it. Respect it. Be it.
The Sacred Feminine is about interconnection. We are intertwined. We are interdependent and we must learn to act for the well-being of the whole. We are one whole interconnected, interdependent web of life. Our choices must be for the good of the whole. We must live with that awareness and come from that interconnectedness.
The Sacred Mother is in protection mode. She is destroying what is no longer needed and is revealing a treasure of sacred actionthat if we align with this treasure, we can birth a new way of being. A connected, harmonious being with a deep awareness of our role in nature, a being who honors nature and has the awareness that nature includes each of us. We are in a mutation, an evolutionary critical point of core change, We must stay flexible, aware, and focused on the highest good for all.
This is a time of rebirth. One version of me is over and a new one is being born. When I deepen my awareness of and connection with the central core of nature, my life will transform. My expectations will change. The results will be different. They will be expansive and inclusive. I will identify and fill my role of sacred activism in the unfolding world.
We each have the potential to make a difference. To change lives. What is your role and how has it changed? How is it still changing?
We have the potential to change. We have the potential to grow. We have the potential to learn. Those of us who are aware are moving into a higher energy field for our work in the coming year. The opportunity is broad and deep. The responsibility is great. We can keep expanding our potential as we expand our awareness of our deep interactive connection with All That Is.
It is time to birth a new Self. A Self who is aware of our connection with all living things, a Self who take responsibility for supporting and encouraging and protecting others. A Self whose responsibly is to honor and protect nature and her cycles and a Self who is stepping into our role as Light Bearers, lighting a path of raised awareness and interconnection.
We are to build a relationship with the natural world and live by her unfolding cycles of birth and growth and death and birth and growth and death.
This is about building a deep-seated spiritual connection with nature – the natural ebb and flow of intertwined cycles. We are to listen and learn and live by the cycles and rhythms of nature.
Give up what you know and simply listen. Let the Sacred Feminine teach you about inclusion and love and sacred caring. Our new way of being is evolving. Pay attention and make room for major change.

===INNER WORK===
The Power of Cycles
When we understand that all of nature moves in cycles, we can approach our life choices from a more inclusive viewpoint. We learn to identify the specific cycles we are in. We learn to identify what phase of each cycle we are in. And here we stand – in an intertwined connection of cycles in various stages. It’s an interesting balancing act to keep track of where we are.
Each time a cycle comes around, it brings in a slightly different version of the experience because cycles also move in upward spirals. So you come back to a particular point in the cycles but at a higher level. That means you have new choices to make because you have a new awareness. It means that you can see what worked and what didn’t work. What do you build upon? What did you discard? How has your vision changed?
Cycles encourage growth. They teach us the ebb and flow of giving and taking. Cycles of repetition helps me own a process or an idea as I shape it to fit my own being-ness.
Repetition expands my understanding of the objective of the cycle. Repetition makes certain I understand its purpose, and those with whom I interact also understand it. There are some core ideas that need to be repeated, that are foundational.
When a cycle begins, we get to explore and evaluate and make our choices. When cycles end, we look at how far we have come and closely choose what we need to release and leave behind. We identify what needs to be explored more deeply. And with each turn of the cycle we chose to leave some of the beliefs behind. Be aware of cycles and let them unfold and guide you. Cycles are about letting go. Cycles are about lessons learned and lessons still to learn. Listen and look for the new pathways that are unfolding. Then choose a new path or continue your journey of discovery on the path you are on.
Focus Your Focus
I used to love Final Week in college. There were no classes, only the scheduled exams. I had the opportunity to review all that I had learned during that semester and put it together in a cohesive understanding of all of those details. During final week, we were able to study all over our sorority house. Everyone was quiet. Everyone was studying.
What I loved was the ability to focus on one subject at a time. To understand the overview and really own the detail and the lessons. I love the ownership of the material that overview gives me.
As you move through life, don’t spread yourself too thin. Spend time with one facet at a time until you can make an informed decision about whether to proceed or not or exactly what steps to take next. Otherwise, you’ll feel overwhelmed. And we don’t want that.
Perhaps you pick just one idea to advance each day. That should be doable. That definitely will move you forward. Choose an action. Take that action. Notice the results of that action. Evaluate. Make a new choice.
Be choosy. I love to learn. But there comes a point where I’m full up. I can’t learn anything more at that particular moment. So I have to pass on things. I have to be discerning. I have to give myself permission to not explore some of the interesting topics that show up, simply because I am full up or have other priorities. Give yourself permission to not do something. Give yourself permission to take one step at a time. Give yourself permission to stop and look around and consider your choices. And give yourself permission to abandon the project that no longer takes you in the direction you want to go. Be discerning. Make your choices based on your overall over-arching objective.
Honor What You Can’t Do
The phrase I wanted to write about was to “come from a place of inclusiveness.” But I can’t begin to do that. The division is too great, the choices too dramatic and harmful. People are making choices not remotely understood by me. I am wrestling with separation and I am wrestling with despondency because the divide seems so extreme and the danger so great.
I listened to a lot of the Wisdom Summit talks and found several ideas that help me. One is that this is a healing process and first we have to drain the wound. That means all the ugliness and poison have to be exposed and released so the planet and its inhabitants can heal. And that takes me back to the inclusiveness that I can’t do yet. I am searching for my own way to move through this cleansing and clarification. I can only work on my own awareness and walk my own path with integrity. I can do that.
I go to my Still Point. I let all my actions and responses come from the center of my being. I go deep within. I use all my senses. And I sit in my heart to heal.
A Masked Thought
I can imagine wearing my Covid protection mask and have someone come bully me about it. I could simply turn and say, “I’m wearing my mask to keep you safe.” I wonder what their response would be. What a different place to come from. Let’s take care of each other.
Another Way of Being
If someone showed you another path, would you go exploring? Would you step off the main road that you were on and go adventuring on a side road? Would you take a path less traveled? What would make you do that? What would be the incentive? Or would it just respond to the joy of learning something new? We are being asked to step off this old path and find our way into a new level of being. It is about being the collective consciousness. The cosmic consciousness. It is about living our life from a place of wholeness and inclusiveness. It’s not so much about the detail as it is about the inner work we are to do. The raising of our awareness. The raising of our consciousness. The raising of our expectations. Holding High Watch for the world. But most of all being open to exploring this new unfolding era of the Sacred Feminine. Where is she leading us? What is she offering us? It is time to step off the path onto a new high road?
===OUTER WORK===
Release and Move On
I have a pattern working with my podcasts that has in it a step of releasing and moving on. I write a draft. I wait a few days. I write a second draft. I usually have what I want in three drafts. And then there it sits. And the collection of drafts that are ready to record grows larger. Not finished. Not out the door – but ready to record. For me. recording the podcast is releasing it and moving on. Even though I still have to edit it and publish it, the concept, the words are locked in. I have completed my exploration of that idea and can move on to explore other concepts.
What kind of signal do you give yourself that it’s time to move on? You’ve done enough work on that particular situation or that specific idea? What is the signal you give yourself to let go of an idea for the work or even the whole scope of work and move on? Completion is good. Releasing clears the path for going on a new adventure.
Be Like Water
Water is flexible. It changes with the environment it finds itself in. It is reshaped by its passageways. It moves rapidly or slowly depending on the slope it finds itself on. It moves one grain of sand at a time with persistence. Be like water and let your pathway unfold.
Search deeper into the cycles of your life to reach for new ways to be and do and think in order to open up unexplored space in this unfolding new era. Then move forward with the agility of water.
The Need to Prune
I sensed movement outside my window and looked out to see my wonderful weeping birch tree being severely pruned. We’re talking men with 30-foot poles with clippers on the end reaching up to cut off branches and allowing them to fall to the ground. This happens every year but it’s always a surprise to see how the growth of that tree has begun to cut out sunlight in my apartment. I can suddenly see more of the sky with the Midwestern clouds that I love. The plants in my house will get more sun because the branches have been trimmed. But I did like the lovely waving branches of the longer version. Things grow stronger and taller when you prune away what has grown too much. Pruning actually encourages new growth. What needs pruning in your life? What clutter do you need to clear out of your home? What projects are superfluous? Pruning encourages growth. What do you need to trim out of your life to make room for new growth?
Oh yes, the workman cleaned up the branches and turned them into chips to be turned into compost. The cycle continues.
The Confines of a Calendar
I gaze at little squares with numbers that signify the days that are yet to unfold. How odd to have a square represent an unfolding life experience. Do we live our life in boxes or do we live our days as if we were floating on an ocean being carried hither and yon by the underlying currents? I like that image, floating under a blue sky, fluffy clouds shape-shifting overhead, allowing myself to be carried wherever my day takes me.
Let the currents of life carry you through your days and enjoy the view.
===DEEPEN YOUR SPIRITUAL PRACTICE===
Create Reflective Moments
I have a small reflective journal on my computer. It’s in part of a document called “Action” that I have on my desktop and use to track all sorts of things. But what I have begun to do is journal a bit in it each day. I only keep one week going at a time, but I can look back and see what I learned or accomplished the week before. But the reason I suggest some form of a daily journaling habit is the power of reflection, acknowledgement, and gratitude. Journaling lets us remember what happened, what worked, what changed, what was not particularly successful. It helps us notice the surprises and the gifts. It’s a moment of gratitude and appreciation and self-reflection and self-honoring. It’s a moment of reflective review of my day. It doesn’t take long but it does help me become more aware of the messages and opportunities that day offered and honored the gifts I gave to the world. Journal a bit in reflection each day.
===DISCOVERIES ===
In the August Transmutation News, Sandra Ingerman shares her ideas on the difficulty we have when looking at how human consciousness has evolved.
Sandra writes:
“We are seeing so many changes on the planet and in the collective consciousness. There are a lot of people still stuck in illusions of life that keep us separated from each other and the web of life. But in the spiritual world we are making progress. Some are disappointed in how much progress is being made…
In our culture we want immediate change. And we know in nature change can happen so quickly. And in some ways consciousness in the spiritual community is changing rapidly.
Meanwhile some people are getting more lost in the illusion and the energies of division and fear. Change in nature happens in its own perfect timing – a teaching we must surrender to.”
Sandra goes on to talk about her own journey of letting go and how that helped to bring her into a place of consistently emanating the higher energies of love and light, and feeling peace. Choice is an Opportunity for Adventure
A choice is simply a decision to go exploring. You choose, you take a few steps, you look around, and see where you are. What better opportunity to learn than to make new choices!
=== DEEPER SONG ORACLE MESSAGE===
Dependability
The Oracle card I drew for us is dependability. It shows two women facing and touching hands in mutual support. Support is a major aspect of dependability. You are there when others need you. You do the job you say you will do. You show up on time. You are reliable. Are you dependable in all areas of your life? Or do you sort of slough off a few of them? Perhaps focus on being a more dependable friend in the coming weeks.
===CARA’S CORNER===
Shift Your Gaze
Change unfolds itself to me gradually. I find a phrase that draws me to it. I explore it a bit by writing a paragraph for this newsletter. Sometimes I turn and explore the idea in a podcast to learn what I feel about it and how I might bring it into my journey. I write to learn.
And then one day my new direction becomes clear and I begin to make major changes
Such a change happened in the past few weeks. Here’s my new who-and-do-what statement:
“I help spiritual explorers find powerful and creative ways to connect with and explore their own cosmic consciousness. I help transformational leaders who are now stepping forward to understand their role and their potential participation so that we can build the bridges and pathways that guide us all into the New Consciousness.”
It’s a narrower focus and a deeper scope and it helps me select the topics I am to explore next.
How has your role changed? Where is your focus now? What does that mean you will do differently?
