Step Beyond the Limits of Yourself

February 28, 2021 By Cara Lumen

Step Beyond the Limits of Yourself

An Exploration of the Unseen World

“The Tao is vast and fathomless. you can understand only by stepping bound the limits of yourself.” says Stephen Mitchel in the Second  book of Tao.

What does that mean”  What are the limits of myself?  How do I do that?

The word “Tao” means all-ness, everything that is, everything that exists, seen and unseen.  Tao IS.

And here we sit, all stuffed into our limited bodies, relying on limited resources trying to understand this immense vastest.  Where do we even begin?

Cara Lumen, spiritual philosopher and Founder of the Deeper Song Community is a cosmic explorer who consciously travels into the unseen world to serve as a bridge to help us expand our relationship with the spiritual world. She shares what she learns and guides us to the next level so we can sing a deeper song.

Simply Being – The Art of Wu Wei

Simply Being – The Art of Wu Wei

An Exploration of the Unseen World

There is an emptiness about Wu Wei.  There is a tranquility about wu wei,  theirs a posture of moving with the flow, being gently rocked in the current of life while serenely sharing your inner light

Wu wei is a concept in Taoism that means non-action.   Wu Wei means do what is natural, appropriate and leaves no traces.

The “leave no traces” is an interesting aspect to consider.

Here’s how I think it is:

Stephen Mitchell i his translations of the -Tao Te Ching says:

The Master allows things to happen.
She shapes events as they come.
She steps out of the way and lets the Tao speak for itself.”

Wu Wie means to be present, resounds with inclusive clarity and leaves no traces.

Wu Wei is  about non-interfering, non-obstruction and non-forcing.  It is about letting life unfold.

Cara Lumen, spiritual philosopher and Founder of the Deeper Song Community is a cosmic explorer who consciously travels into the unseen world to serve as a bridge to help us expand our relationship with the spiritual world. Adventures in Curiosity

Adventures in Curiosity

Creating Conscious connection

Ashe
(“Ah-Shay”)
The Creative in me honors the Creative in you!

Curiosity is one of our most powerful gifts.  Curiosity is a strong desire to know more about something.  Curiosity leads us on awesome adventures.

How do you develop curiosity?  Wonder.   Wonder at the world around you.  Wonder at what others are doing.  Wonder at how an idea calls to you for more exploration.

Not everyone seeks to be curious.  I’m writing this because we have all been shut in for so long and our curiosity is our key to learning and sociability and spiritual guidance.

What are you curious about?

It is easy to learn anything on the internet. There is a myriad of online classes.  I have taken classes in shamanism, drumming, native flute, Qi Gong, and sound healing.  Each time I took a class I gained a level of competence but I also satisfied or elevated my desire to learn more.  It’s good to be able to interpret how the learning resonates.

You need a filter for what you choose to learn because it is easy to become overwhelmed.  For instance, there are many opportunities to study astrology but I am clear about how deeply I do or do not want to go into that topic. I am clear what I want to use it for – I’m interested in understanding the overarching  flow of planetary energies as a prompt to focus my energy work. That awareness of how I want to use it becomes a filter for me and enables me to choose only those sources that offer me the viewpoint I want to explore.

Podcasts are abundant.  Pick a topic and go find people who call to you.  Videos teach you everything from starting a plant cutting to elaborate computer techniques.

Be prompted in the moment.  I remember years ago when I kept a garden here, that several of us went to a bait shop to get earthworms to put in our garden. When I came home and had safely deposited mine in my raised garden bed, I went online to see how long an earthworm lived. (Eight years, though one to two is more likely.) Simple actions and a lively curiosity can lead to the search for new knowledge.

Know when you are full up on a topic. Know how the topic rates on your level of interest.  Be selective. And go exploring.

I really liked the sound healing courses I took but there came a point when I realized that was not a direction I wanted to explore more deeply.  I was full up.

On the other hand, I have a new shamanic teacher – my fourth.  I know he will add depth to my shamanic work.

Sometimes it the topic that draws you more deeply.  Sometimes it’s the presenter.

There is great wisdom being shared on every topic.  Type in a keyword and go exploring.

Curiosity will take you on amazing adventures.

DEEPER SONG AFFIRMATION

I encourage my curiosity to open new doors for me.

DEEPER SONG PROCESS

  • Pick one topic and do a search.
  • Explore three sources.
  • Notice what format draws you – video, audio, written words, courses.
  • Notice what presenter appeals to you – and why – their vocabulary, their topic, their presentation skills, or just a resonance.
  • Keep exploring.  Leave a top behind when you feel satisfied and turn and go in another direction.
  • Curiosity takes you on great adventures. Enjoy the journey!!!

Become a Pillar of Light

An Exploration of the Unseen World

There are many ways we can self-heal.  Experiencing yourself as a pillar of light is a powerful way to heal yourself and raise your vibration.

As I journey to the Unseen World I am given suggestions, nudges, ideas to explore.  Then I have to figure out how to apply them.

Experiencing ourselves as light is very powerful because that is who we are.   The Pillar Light is a powerful process of deepened awareness to add to your spiritual practice.

***INNER WORK***

What is the Vision You Have For Yourself?

That is a particularly interesting question to ask at age 88!!!!

Your “next” is up to you.  What you choose to let go.  What you choose to bring along.  What you choose to ignore. Each moment, each choice shapes your future.  Be aware and go exploring.

My body is very grouchy so my focus is on finding ways to make her happy. This requires some exploration, experimentation, and some discipline.

My eyesight is diminishing and I am learning to dictate more and at some point, I’m going to need help. That’s a bummer for me so I’m working on my adaptability and exploring what I will substitute for some of the things I depend on my sight for.  Do a reality check and make plans around what you discover.

Look at what you have created and know that your actions and choices have brought you here.  Then decide what you would like to change it and get busy.

Figure out what you need to know next.  Technology is leaping forward and opening fascinating new doors. You can make new friends all over the world.  You can take fascinating classes.  Make choices that add richness to where you are in your life right now and go exploring to see what new path you would like to take.

The Guidance in Overwhelm

It was a great idea. A great new venue for learning things and I felt immense overwhelm.  It was too much.  I could not absorb it all.  I stopped to figure out why – I love to learn – what was turning me off of a great learning opportunity?

Overwhelm is like a flagman signaling for a train to slow down and even stop.  We need to pay attention to overwhelm.

I love to learn but what I realized was that I did not want to learn this – this particular focus was not where I was headed.  And that was a key realization. Know what direction you want to travel in.

I’m no longer going where I was headed, I’m going in a slightly different direction and it is still unfolding.  This feeling of overwhelm is like a huge signal from the Universe saying – this is not for you – it will pull you off track.

If it is particularly hard to do, if you do not want to do it, pay attention and see if you can see where the reluctance comes from.

This reluctance to explore practical ideas is because my work is now focused on energy work – not physical plane work.   I needed to figure that out.

Overwhelm is a signal that something is not right – it is not balanced or it is not taking you in the direction you need to go next.

Explore overwhelm for its messages and insights.

Allow Space and Time for Renewal

I’ve drawn the oracle card Renewal three times this month and each time, I was able to move more deeply into what I thought that meant to me.

Allow space and time for renewal.

I gave away a LOT Of stuff this month and it gave me the opportunity to reconfigure everything in my life from my pantry to my closets.  Create space for renewal by redefining your space and the items you choose to keep close around you.  How does your home need to support you at this point in time?

Restructure is also about leaving time so I can tune in to my inner voice and explore new opportunities, make new choices.  This has been huge for me, cutting back on the number of offerings so I can literally sit here and say, “What do I feel like doing?” And then do that.

And finally, renewal is about restructuring my time and my efforts. It is about allowing time for my ‘“next” to unfold.  Be patient with renewal.  It is an unfolding process.

What kind of action steps will you take to allow space and time for renewal?

***OUTER WORK***

Rethink Your Routine

A routine can easily turn into a rut.  There are so many aspects of our life that we do mindlessly because – well, that’s the way we’ve always done it, or that’s the pattern we have fallen into.

There is HUGE freedom in rethinking your routine.  It makes you more efficient but when you tune in to your own rhythm, you can make mindful shifts in when you do what.

Routine is a series of steps that are followed over time – a fixed process.  You can’t grow with a fixed process. You can’t explore with a routine. There’s no fun in that!

You are the person who decides on your routine and you are the one who can change it.

This past week I put out my podcast on Saturday instead of scheduling it for Sunday.  It was huge for me, my energy, and the sense of completion I got from completing the posting on one day instead of working on different aspects for two days.  We’re talking a few hours here and it made a huge difference. I’m the person that decided on Sunday, which makes me also the person that can make any changes that works best for me.

What rules have you set for yourself that no longer work?  How will you change them?

Find your own rhythm and find the sequence and rhythm for the things you need to do on a regular basis.

Question everything you do – when you exercise, when you take a mindful break, whether you create or maintain.  Rethink your routine so it is spontaneous and aligned with how you feel and what you feel like doing – or not doing!

***DEEPEN YOUR SPIRITUAL PRACTICE***

The Rise of Quan Yin

I have a fair number of Buddha statues around my home.  I like Zen Buddhism but I was also drawn to the figures of Buddha because they remind me to stop and be mindfully present. The Buddha figure is shown with different mudras (hand gestures). I also have several Quan Yin statues.  Quan Yin is one of the major deities in Buddhism. She is known as the Goddess of Mercy and Compassion, The Chinese name Guanyin is short for Guanshiyin, which means “[The One Who] Perceives the Sounds of the World.”

She is often shown pouring from a vase – she is pouring compassion on the world. I have several figures of her in that position.  But I also have a really sassy Quan Yin figure where she is seated with one leg bent and her foot on the seat she is sitting on, and her arm extended rather arrogantly across her knee as if saying, “Bring it on.” It’s called the royal ease position.  I like that one a lot!

I’ve been rearranging my surfaces recently and as I rethought each shelf and tabletop, Quan Yin was elected in position. Moved to the more visible spaces.  And then I had to laugh. I was welcoming in the age of the famine by moving around small states.

I’m keeping up with the changing times…. Yeah for the rise of the feminine….!

*** INSIGHTS  OF A DEEPER SONG ***

A New Insight on Mercury in Retrograde

How often have you heard people say they can’t get anything done because Mercury is in retrograde? Yes, Mercury is about communication – intelligence, the transference of information.  I like that part.

Retrograde is when the planet looks like it is moving backward.  But what I just learned is that when Mercury is in retrograde, the mind turns inward, freed to think in independent, imaginative, innovative terms.

That sure changes how I will experience it, since Mercury goes retrograde three or four times in a calendar year, for about three weeks at a time.

Time for deeper inner exploration. How fun.

Mercury turned retrograde on January 30 for three weeks. It is a time to find new solutions to old problems It is a pause to see what we left behind that we need to move forward. Pause to look over the past year and repair or bring forward or release what still needs to be handled.

In 2020, Mercury will be in apparent retrograde motion during the following ranges of dates: February 17 to March 10. June 18 to July 12. October 14 to November 3.

What kind of introspective work are you planning?

***OUR EVOLVING FUTURE***

Are You Afraid of Change?

Some of the rebellion in the world is about power but another part of the rebellion is fear of change.  The strong desire to keep things as they are. Familiar.  Comfortable. Reassuring in their familiarity. Considering the giant changes in the world, we each need to become more flexible – curious, and flexible.  What is newly possible and how do we want to adjust?

It is comforting to keep things the way they are.  There are no surprises.  However, there is also no adventure, no new discovery.

Change can be scary. It can make you move into unfamiliar circumstances and forces us to make new decisions and even change our direction.

But change is inevitable. It is ongoing.  And we must learn to embrace and cultivate it.

Do you have a fear of change? Do you want to keep things the way there are – familiar, comfortable, reliable, unchanging?

If you are not willing to change, you cannot grow and you will never have any adventures….!

You need to be introspective in order to understand what is being offered to you.  You need to be patient and allow life to unfold.  You need to have moments of contemplative stillness in order for the Universe to guide you to your new place of being or new place of service.

This new era that is unfolding is one adventurous, unexpected, and unusual choice after another.  Begin by letting go of all but your bare bones, and thoughtfully explore and try on new ways to change.  And how that change – enthusiastically embracing that change – will change the unfolding of your future.

Don’t go back Go forward. Keep changing. Keep experimenting.  Keep exploring. Changing is a wonderful adventure and will lead you where you need to be next.

MESSAGE FROM THE SACRED EARTH ORACLE CARDS

Balance

“Balance” is the oracle card I drew for us to consider. It shows two women, one in red, one in blue held together by a band of energy but leaning in opposite directions.  I know that feeling.  How do you find and keep balance in your life?

First, you have to notice how you are balanced.  Is your time focused more heavily on work?  Are you more focused on one activity than another? Are things not getting done that need to be done? It’s great to get lost in enthusiastic exploration, but we must learn to mindfully make choices that return us to balance.

My prime example comes from cutting back on my offerings. It gives me space and time in which I get to check inside to see what I feel like doing or not doing next. Taking that pause to find my balance gives me time and space to let my new ideas mature and be evaluated as to their place in my overall journey. It gives me time to explore.

This care shows two paths, going in different directions.  How can you align your paths so they move side by side in the same direction? How are you being pulled in two different directions? What do you need to change?  Let go of?

Look over your spiritual life, your work life, and your relationships and see what you need to bring into greater balance.   How will you do that?

Sacred Earth Cards

CARA’S CORNER

Our World as the Circle of Light Beings

I am a guide, an explorer who does not choose to travel the worn paths but instead, uses her curiosity and desire to expand to move off into the Unseen World.  I feel and experience two distinct levels of being on our planet.  There is my all-inclusive awareness of the Circle of Light Beings, to which everyone reading this belongs.  And there are others who are not yet aware of their own light.  As far as I can tell, our job as an aware light being is to keep raising our vibration  and singing our light through every choice we make, every thought we think. Those who can, those who are ready, will see that light shining in themselves and choose to work with it, to develop it, to expand it, to let their inner light guide them.  Shaman Sandra Ingerman said not everyone will choose this path and we have to be OK with that.  She also suggested we would eventually live in parallel universes.  Hummm.   I do know that I chose to be with and work with and learn from those who are working and living in their own light, who continue to find new ways to raise the vibration of their light and its reach.

We have choice here.  Keep raising your vibration, extend the reach of your light, and invite others to join us in this raised consciousness and purposeful journey of light.

My Three Words for 2021 – Deep Listening, Exploration, Unfolding

Creating Conscious Connection

Ashe
(“Ah-Shay”)
The Creative in me honors the Creative in you!

Goals are good and goals can be overwhelming.  I’m a go-with-the-flow person. I rely almost exclusively on my inner voice to guide me in the moment.

However, identifying an over-arching theme might be a good idea.  Chris Brogan suggests we choose three words for the year.   I have done that for a lot of years. Here are the three words I have chosen for this year.

Deep Listening. Since my work is unfolding, the first focus for the coming year that I choose is Deep Listening.  That means moving to my Still Point multiple times throughout my day to let go of my human thoughts and sit in silent serenity.  I am learning that I don’t have to make decisions other than in the moment. I just let my inner nudges show up and I explore where they take me.

Exploration is my second word for the year.  I feel pretty certain that most of what I offer is going to come from my inner work, my journeys, and my unexpected insights. That means I am to stay aware, move into deep listening, and when a nudge shows up, I am to take time to examine and explore – a little or a lot, depending on how I feel about the topic of the moment.  Here I go adventuring…

Unfolding.  I started to chose “change” but this is such a huge period of change. Then I considered “evolution” which seems huge. But in this dramatic and rapidly changing world, I can only sit in thoughtful awareness and listen to my inner voice guide me to my next steps.  I let life unfold and shape things as they come.

Deep Listening, Exploration, Unfolding.

What three words will you chose to open up new portals for you this year?

DEEPER SONG AFFIRMATION

Life Lessons from a Lump of Clay

Sometimes it seems like there is no rhyme nor reason why our lives are the way they are or how we turned out the way we did.  But there is.  There are choices and beliefs and interactions that created our path, our journey. We are exactly where we should be considering what we thought and did.

There are many circumstances that are pushing and shoving and moving and shaping our lives.  It helps to think about some of them and where they might lead.

Cara Lumen, spiritual philosopher and founder of the Deeper Song Community is a cosmic explorer who consciously travels into the unseen world to serve as a bridge to help us expand our relationship with the spiritual world. ***INNER WORK***

Rediscovery

I drew the oracle card “Rediscovery” on the first of this new year and I am thinking about what that might mean.  I will look for gifts I have that I have left by the wayside.  I will look for ideas that organically fell into second place along the road.  And I’m going to look at what I can repurpose in this rapidly changing new world. In this moment, I only have a vague feeling about what that will be. And it may not be a tangible step.  It may be introspective work, an expanded spiritual practice, even a review of something I used to do from my present viewpoint of what is unfolding.

What will you rediscover?  Go exploring and look in all the corners….

Our Inner Strength

“When things fall apart around you, you’re really left with what you’ve developed inside you.”- Rick Hanson, Ph.D.

I stopped to consider what I have developed inside me that keeps me moving inward and upward.

I have a deep and varied pattern of spiritual practices.  I am mindfully moving to my Still Point more often during my day to encourage moments of deep tranquility and introspection.

I have taken what may be an intuitive proactive step as I become clear what my role is in humanity today.  I am not an in-person, interactive contributor to the well-being of our world. My work is to help us raise our vibration.  My work is in the inner world, where I explore and interpret and share what I figure out.  But my main job, my core work is with vibration – learning to raise our vibration with conscious awareness and encouraging those who can hear the message to do the same.  Not everyone will hear this call, but as we each move more deeply into our role as Light Beings, others will recognize it in themselves and make the choice to consciously join us.

There are many things I cannot and am not meant to do on the physical plane.  So I focus on what I have developed inside and share that.

What have you got going for you?  What do you need to add to your life pattern that would expand and elevate your experience and your place of service?  What is not yours to do? Let that go.  Keep building your strength within and rely on your inner voice.

***OUTER WORK***

How are you Nurturing Yourself and What do you Need to Change?

We slip into destructive patterns without realizing it.  I have been watching too much news and it finally caught up with me.  I very much enjoy the fabulous minds and incredible vocabulary of cable news, but the subject matter has been like watching a horror movie.  Even with change in sight, and hope on the horizon, I was being drawn deeper and deeper into despair. It even manifested a feeling of depression over the holidays – and I have never been depressed in my life.

Finally, I made a major change.  There are wonderful music channels on my TV.  I love both classical music and New Age and my life has been woefully short on both.  Until now.

What kind of habits have you fallen into that you need to break?

It easy to identify habits you would like to create. But what habits do you have that are doing you harm? And how will you change that?

Use Music to Heal

Music is a powerful vibration.  It can soothe you and challenge you and lift you up.  Music comes from the soul of the composer and the musician – a gift from them to you. Go exploring into musical venues you have only dabbled in before and see where it leads you.  I will explore jazz more.  I like it very much but it seems to be third on my list.  There is a difference between light classical music and classical music. Composers really give it to you in classical music.  It can be very demanding. And stirring. And motivating.  It makes you feel like you should rise up and go take on something big. Light classical feels a bit more joyous and less demanding.  I get to choose to fit my mood and my need.

Focus on an instrument you love to hear. I’m a cello fan and a saxophone fan – both low, mellow sounds.  I play the native flute and have played the piano in the past.  And I have sung in lots of quartets and choral groups.  Odd that I let music slip out of my life.

I have 8 drums but seem focused on two, a buffalo drum I made in a workshop 30 years ago and a small djembe from Africa.  There is something very freeing and releasing about drumming.

Notice the vibrations you allow into your life. Notice what you listen to and how it affects you.  Silence is good too. It has a healing sound of its own.  Humming as a focused vibration is healing. Making up songs is liberating and creative.

Make a rattle out of popcorn in an empty spice jar.  Make a drum out of the bottom of an empty plastic container and experiment with your own rhythms. There is a way to play two spoons!

How are you spending your downtime and are you aware  of how it affects you?

Make conscious changes that include adding more sound experience to your life and notice the difference it makes.

Make Room for Change and then Wait for It!

There is nothing more powerful than making room for change and then waiting to see what shows up.  I eased up on my publication schedule and in the space that was cleared by that choice I continue to find new ideas and opportunities now that they have room to make themselves known.

How do you invite change in?  Sitting in silence with no expectation is a powerful place to begin.

***DEEPEN YOUR SPIRITUAL PRACTICE***

Deepen Your Spiritual Practice Through Art

We get so caught up in our words that we get tangled up in them and ultimately find we are limited by them.  Sometimes real clarity comes when we use art to explore our feelings, our thoughts, our inner world. What words cannot describe, drawing can.

I do pencil drawings of my journeys. Not all of them, but when I do take time to draw images from what I see, it clarifies and broadens my understanding of my journey.  And when I revisit the drawing, the whole journey pops back into my mind. I keep my drawings in sheet protectors in a binder.

You could use art to describe your feelings or to explore an idea for a project. My drawings have stick figures and signs that point to wavy lined paths.  When in doubt about what the image is meant to be, I add a label…! Drawing your idea provides a new way to look at it and explore its possibilities.

You could doodle or paint, cut out paper figures, use clay or finger painting or crayons.  Every color has a message, just choose colors that call to you and perhaps write words on your paper that pull up the images from your experience of the thought you want to capture.

Find other ways to explore your thoughts besides words. It will open up new depths of understanding.

***DEEPER SONG  INSIGHTS ***

The Question that Heals

“How are you doing?” my friend inquired in an email.  I sat down to answer her and uncovered insights and awareness that helped me heal myself. All because my friend knew I had had a rough time and cared enough to ask how I was doing.

When you listen, when you offer other people the gift of your caring presence, it opens up space for them to go within and find the core of their imbalance.  Through their self-awareness, self-healing occurs.

How are you doing? I’m listening.

Purpose and Intention versus Unfolding

The article said, “Begin the year with purpose and intention.” And it immediately felt forced to me.  I’m an unfolding kind of gal.  Now that doesn’t mean I don’t set objectives for myself, I do, but they are broad, not detailed and I’m just not very attached to them – I let them unfold. I go with the flow.  I’m pretty relaxed about when I do them or if I do them.  I tune in to what I am in the mood to do and then do that.

That’s pretty casual, right?  How do I get things done? I listen to my inner voice and respond in the moment.  And I am aware of the results of my choices and change those choices as seems appropriate.

Choose, act, evaluate.  Repeat. That’s how I let things unfold.

***OUR EVOLVING FUTURE***

What is Your Role?

I’ve been listing to a lot of classical music lately and it makes me think of the long path to becoming a professional musician.

There are very few solos in an orchestra. But the ones I have been hearing are heart-stirringly beautiful.  That means that person has spent hours and hours and hours learning to play that well.

What is your role?  Are you to be a core member of a group?  A soloist in an orchestra?  A performing artist in your own right?  Or do you just love to play music?  What is your role in life – soloist, conductor, member of the ensemble or a joyful player of music for yourself?  Whatever level you are, you bring with it joy, commitment and love of music.

Looking back over my life, I have been in ensemble groups that created an experience I could not have done alone – quartets, choirs, the cast of a play.  And I have worked diligently and consistently to hone my own individual skills.

But my role now is as a member of a much larger group –  the growing ensemble of conscious seekers who are working together to raise the  vibration of our planet.

This is a time of change.  Our role is changing.  The opportunities are changing.

Look back over your life for the signs and signals and the opportunities you did or did not take, and notice the choices that led you to where you are now.  You have the power to change direction by changing your choices.

I have spent a large portion of my life writing – both professionally and perennially.  What gift weaves its message throughout your life?

Know what is driving your life and your life choices. What is your role and how are you going to fulfill it?

Message from the Sacred Earth Cards

Revolution

I drew this card “Revolution” for myself this week and had to go to the oracle book that came with the cards in order to discover it is about cycles.  Revolving cycles. Expanding and waning cycles. We are always in some stage in multiple cycles.  They intertwine, and ebb and flow, and our life changes.  On the card, a woman is holding a lotus in a globe.  A lotus is rooted in mud below the surface, and its awesome flower rises to the surface to share its beauty with the world.  Be aware of the mud that nurtures you.  Be aware of the multiple cycles you are in and see if you can understand and take advantage of where you are in each cycle.

I am in a cycle that is changing my offerings.  It is affecting the frequency, the form, and what I write about.  I am in another cycle with my body – a sort of uncomfortable  straightening of my body as I release something I have not identified.  I am in a cycle of introspection, focused on raising my vibration and understanding my next steps. All three cycles are underway simultaneously.

Let your life unfold, but pay attention to the revolving stages of increase and decline in each cycle.  Allow yourself to evolve into the New Consciousness.

Follow Your Nudges

Amazing answers show up when you stay still and listen.

As suddenly as I got interested in Astrology, I am just as suddenly putting it aside. Or, at least not exploring it more deeply and giving it a lesser role in my own exploration. I have an over-arching intention.  I will follow that and it will show me what I need to do, what I need to consider next.

A shift happened when I was writing the opening article. The Deeper Song Process became a list of podcasts and posts that depend on the experience of the topic of the article, and I understood that is another way to help you explore more deeply, that it enriches what I offer.

I created a slightly different format for this newsletter and it is helping me focus on what I offer. It up-levels the content and helps me make more focused choices about what to include.

We are to go exploring more deeply together.  I have no real idea what that will look like, but I know I can go deeper and explore further afield and we will expand our consciousness together.

What I invite you to do is to follow your inner voice, your nudges, and explore what calls to you.  Be selective, be aware of what is calling you, and when you start exploring, notice how what you are learning and experiencing resonates.  Use your response to guide your steps.

We are taking a turn in the path here. We will end up in a new place, a new space of opportunity.  We just have to pay attention to the guideposts along our path – and choose each step with awareness.

How to Reframe to Get Better Results

Adventures in the Unseen World

This was a huge, life-changing discovery. Change is as simple as reframing how you see it. That means all you have to do is reframe the perceived problem in order to get different results.

What needs to change – could it be me?

My passion lies in philosophical writing. Not in cleaning my home.

My passion lies in the creativity of my mind and its amazing discoveries – not in the strength of my body.

I was beating myself up for not making some basic things happen. Did I not clean my home better because I was lazy, or it is a tad harder than it used to be, or that I really didn’t care? I was trying to change me so I could change my behavior.

It wasn’t working.

Was the reason I was not willing to develop a regular form of exercise because I’m not very interested in exercise or because I’d rather write (yes) or I’m lazy?

I looked very hard to see what needed to change in me so I could change my actions.

Change how you see the problem

It turns out that when I shifted the purpose of what I was doing, I shifted my attitude.

It created major change.

The shift began when I started to look at my choices and motivation differently.  Why was I doing or not doing whatever it was?

I began with my lack of motivation for cleaning my home.

I love all the crystals I keep around me and I bet they would be really happy to be damp wiped more often and handled more frequently.

Crystals, yes I could do that, but the kitchen floor? What did I need to shift in how I viewed caring for my home in order to create a shift in me?

See your home as sacred space

In my daily mediation, I think of various areas of my home as a sacred space. I care for them.  I occupy them with awareness.

What if I saw my entire home as sacred space!!!  Now that would certainly create a change in my willingness and attitude toward caring for it. My home is my sacred chamber for safety and well-being. Of course I want to keep a sacred chamber clean and cared for.

See how this works?

Shift how you perceive the task you with to accomplish.  Reframe it until you feel the shift in your willingness.

My body needed help

The same resistance I have felt toward caring for my home extended to my body. Caring for it, as in keeping it strong, was not very interesting or meaningful to me. It was not a priority.  I knew I needed to move my body more in order to help it be stronger and more flexible, but I kept putting off the things that would help that happen.

Until, like my home, I changed how I viewed it. I reframed how I held my body and it changed my actions.

My body is sacred space

When I began to perceive my body as sacred space, it immediately and dramatically changed my willingness to care for it.  Of course, my body is sacred. It is home for my soul.  I need to care for it as such.

Finding the form of exercise I am to do to strengthen my body is not about me, it’s about what my body temple will appreciate and thrive on. It’s the food and drink I offer it, the activities I choose to do that stimulate and motive and are simply enjoyable.

It’s not about me, it’s about my body and how I see its value in my life.  How I honor its service. How I care for its sacred space.

I change my perception and it changes my choices. And my willingness.

It’s not about chaining you, it’s about changing how you view what you are doing

How do you perceive how you contribute to the world? Do you see it as valuable?  Do you see your work as sacred? Can you see the impact your particular task has on the whole? Are you doing what you need to do to share your gifts with the world?

I write because my mind demands I go exploring.  But I must make certain that I publish my posts and newsletter and podcasts so there is a chance what I have discovered will be of value to someone else.  It’s only partially about how much I cherish and enjoy writing.  It’s also that what I learn and share effects and serves and supports someone else. We must share our gifts for that is why we were given them.

I write for self-discovery, but when I share what I discover I am in service to others in the world. And that is even more important. When I shift my view of my overarching purpose, I change my actions.

All thing are vibration and they vibrate back to you

My hone is vibration.  My body is vibration. My intention is vibration. And vibration affects vibration.  Vibration has impact. It tends to move toward an aligned harmony.  I get to look at the vibration I am putting out into my life.

Your home soaks up the energy you bring into it and reflects it back to you. You are the initiator of the energy you want to have in your life   And if you listen closely, your home will also tell you what it needs to make the space more nurturing for you.

Your body gives you many signals about what it wants and needs. You have only to listen. And respond.

Keep listening. And change your own vibration by changing how you view your participation, your acts of service, and your impact.

Live in a state of aware gratitude

I am truly grateful for my home. It is shelter, it is nurturing. I want to give some of that back.

I am very grateful for my body and because I truly want to stay active, I get to find ways to nurture and provide its desire to stay strong and healthy.

Move through your home with appreciation – for the way it serves and supports you. Honer your body with the care it needs to stay strong.

Both your body ad your home are sacred spaces.

Treat them as such.

What do you need to reframe in order to shift your actions and thus the outcome?

Deeper Song Affirmation
