Adventures in Curiosity

Adventures in Curiosity

Creating Conscious connection

Ashe
(“Ah-Shay”)
The Creative in me honors the Creative in you!

Curiosity is one of our most powerful gifts.  Curiosity is a strong desire to know more about something.  Curiosity leads us on awesome adventures.

How do you develop curiosity?  Wonder.   Wonder at the world around you.  Wonder at what others are doing.  Wonder at how an idea calls to you for more exploration.

Not everyone seeks to be curious.  I’m writing this because we have all been shut in for so long and our curiosity is our key to learning and sociability and spiritual guidance.

What are you curious about?

It is easy to learn anything on the internet. There is a myriad of online classes.  I have taken classes in shamanism, drumming, native flute, Qi Gong, and sound healing.  Each time I took a class I gained a level of competence but I also satisfied or elevated my desire to learn more.  It’s good to be able to interpret how the learning resonates.

You need a filter for what you choose to learn because it is easy to become overwhelmed.  For instance, there are many opportunities to study astrology but I am clear about how deeply I do or do not want to go into that topic. I am clear what I want to use it for – I’m interested in understanding the overarching  flow of planetary energies as a prompt to focus my energy work. That awareness of how I want to use it becomes a filter for me and enables me to choose only those sources that offer me the viewpoint I want to explore.

Podcasts are abundant.  Pick a topic and go find people who call to you.  Videos teach you everything from starting a plant cutting to elaborate computer techniques.

Be prompted in the moment.  I remember years ago when I kept a garden here, that several of us went to a bait shop to get earthworms to put in our garden. When I came home and had safely deposited mine in my raised garden bed, I went online to see how long an earthworm lived. (Eight years, though one to two is more likely.) Simple actions and a lively curiosity can lead to the search for new knowledge.

Know when you are full up on a topic. Know how the topic rates on your level of interest.  Be selective. And go exploring.

I really liked the sound healing courses I took but there came a point when I realized that was not a direction I wanted to explore more deeply.  I was full up.

On the other hand, I have a new shamanic teacher – my fourth.  I know he will add depth to my shamanic work.

Sometimes it the topic that draws you more deeply.  Sometimes it’s the presenter.

There is great wisdom being shared on every topic.  Type in a keyword and go exploring.

Curiosity will take you on amazing adventures.

DEEPER SONG AFFIRMATION

I encourage my curiosity to open new doors for me.

DEEPER SONG PROCESS

  • Pick one topic and do a search.
  • Explore three sources.
  • Notice what format draws you – video, audio, written words, courses.
  • Notice what presenter appeals to you – and why – their vocabulary, their topic, their presentation skills, or just a resonance.
  • Keep exploring.  Leave a top behind when you feel satisfied and turn and go in another direction.
  • Curiosity takes you on great adventures. Enjoy the journey!!!

REFLECTIONS OF A DEEPER SONG PODCAST

Become a Pillar of Light

An Exploration of the Unseen World

There are many ways we can self-heal.  Experiencing yourself as a pillar of light is a powerful way to heal yourself and raise your vibration.

As I journey to the Unseen World I am given suggestions, nudges, ideas to explore.  Then I have to figure out how to apply them.

Experiencing ourselves as light is very powerful because that is who we are.   The Pillar Light is a powerful process of deepened awareness to add to your spiritual practice.

Cara Lumen, spiritual philosopher and Founder of the Deeper Song Community is a cosmic explorer who consciously travels into the unseen world to serve as a bridge to help us expand our relationship with the spiritual world. She shares what she learns and guides us to the next level so we can sing a deeper song.

In this episode, we explore how to sell heal as you Become a Pillar of Light.

***INNER WORK***

What is the Vision You Have For Yourself?

That is a particularly interesting question to ask at age 88!!!!

Your “next” is up to you.  What you choose to let go.  What you choose to bring along.  What you choose to ignore. Each moment, each choice shapes your future.  Be aware and go exploring.

My body is very grouchy so my focus is on finding ways to make her happy. This requires some exploration, experimentation, and some discipline.

My eyesight is diminishing and I am learning to dictate more and at some point, I’m going to need help. That’s a bummer for me so I’m working on my adaptability and exploring what I will substitute for some of the things I depend on my sight for.  Do a reality check and make plans around what you discover.

Look at what you have created and know that your actions and choices have brought you here.  Then decide what you would like to change it and get busy.

Figure out what you need to know next.  Technology is leaping forward and opening fascinating new doors. You can make new friends all over the world.  You can take fascinating classes.  Make choices that add richness to where you are in your life right now and go exploring to see what new path you would like to take.

The Guidance in Overwhelm

It was a great idea. A great new venue for learning things and I felt immense overwhelm.  It was too much.  I could not absorb it all.  I stopped to figure out why – I love to learn – what was turning me off of a great learning opportunity?

Overwhelm is like a flagman signaling for a train to slow down and even stop.  We need to pay attention to overwhelm.

I love to learn but what I realized was that I did not want to learn this – this particular focus was not where I was headed.  And that was a key realization. Know what direction you want to travel in.

I’m no longer going where I was headed, I’m going in a slightly different direction and it is still unfolding.  This feeling of overwhelm is like a huge signal from the Universe saying – this is not for you – it will pull you off track.

If it is particularly hard to do, if you do not want to do it, pay attention and see if you can see where the reluctance comes from.

This reluctance to explore practical ideas is because my work is now focused on energy work – not physical plane work.   I needed to figure that out.

Overwhelm is a signal that something is not right – it is not balanced or it is not taking you in the direction you need to go next.

Explore overwhelm for its messages and insights.

Allow Space and Time for Renewal

I’ve drawn the oracle card Renewal three times this month and each time, I was able to move more deeply into what I thought that meant to me.

Allow space and time for renewal.

I gave away a LOT Of stuff this month and it gave me the opportunity to reconfigure everything in my life from my pantry to my closets.  Create space for renewal by redefining your space and the items you choose to keep close around you.  How does your home need to support you at this point in time?

Restructure is also about leaving time so I can tune in to my inner voice and explore new opportunities, make new choices.  This has been huge for me, cutting back on the number of offerings so I can literally sit here and say, “What do I feel like doing?” And then do that.

And finally, renewal is about restructuring my time and my efforts. It is about allowing time for my ‘“next” to unfold.  Be patient with renewal.  It is an unfolding process.

What kind of action steps will you take to allow space and time for renewal?

***OUTER WORK***

Rethink Your Routine

A routine can easily turn into a rut.  There are so many aspects of our life that we do mindlessly because – well, that’s the way we’ve always done it, or that’s the pattern we have fallen into.

There is HUGE freedom in rethinking your routine.  It makes you more efficient but when you tune in to your own rhythm, you can make mindful shifts in when you do what.

Routine is a series of steps that are followed over time – a fixed process.  You can’t grow with a fixed process. You can’t explore with a routine. There’s no fun in that!

You are the person who decides on your routine and you are the one who can change it.

This past week I put out my podcast on Saturday instead of scheduling it for Sunday.  It was huge for me, my energy, and the sense of completion I got from completing the posting on one day instead of working on different aspects for two days.  We’re talking a few hours here and it made a huge difference. I’m the person that decided on Sunday, which makes me also the person that can make any changes that works best for me.

What rules have you set for yourself that no longer work?  How will you change them?

Find your own rhythm and find the sequence and rhythm for the things you need to do on a regular basis.

Question everything you do – when you exercise, when you take a mindful break, whether you create or maintain.  Rethink your routine so it is spontaneous and aligned with how you feel and what you feel like doing – or not doing!

***DEEPEN YOUR SPIRITUAL PRACTICE***

The Rise of Quan Yin

I have a fair number of Buddha statues around my home.  I like Zen Buddhism but I was also drawn to the figures of Buddha because they remind me to stop and be mindfully present. The Buddha figure is shown with different mudras (hand gestures). I also have several Quan Yin statues.  Quan Yin is one of the major deities in Buddhism. She is known as the Goddess of Mercy and Compassion, The Chinese name Guanyin is short for Guanshiyin, which means “[The One Who] Perceives the Sounds of the World.”

She is often shown pouring from a vase – she is pouring compassion on the world. I have several figures of her in that position.  But I also have a really sassy Quan Yin figure where she is seated with one leg bent and her foot on the seat she is sitting on, and her arm extended rather arrogantly across her knee as if saying, “Bring it on.” It’s called the royal ease position.  I like that one a lot!

I’ve been rearranging my surfaces recently and as I rethought each shelf and tabletop, Quan Yin was elected in position. Moved to the more visible spaces.  And then I had to laugh. I was welcoming in the age of the famine by moving around small states.

I’m keeping up with the changing times…. Yeah for the rise of the feminine….!

*** INSIGHTS  OF A DEEPER SONG ***

A New Insight on Mercury in Retrograde

How often have you heard people say they can’t get anything done because Mercury is in retrograde? Yes, Mercury is about communication – intelligence, the transference of information.  I like that part.

Retrograde is when the planet looks like it is moving backward.  But what I just learned is that when Mercury is in retrograde, the mind turns inward, freed to think in independent, imaginative, innovative terms.

That sure changes how I will experience it, since Mercury goes retrograde three or four times in a calendar year, for about three weeks at a time.

Time for deeper inner exploration. How fun.

Mercury turned retrograde on January 30 for three weeks. It is a time to find new solutions to old problems It is a pause to see what we left behind that we need to move forward. Pause to look over the past year and repair or bring forward or release what still needs to be handled.

In 2020, Mercury will be in apparent retrograde motion during the following ranges of dates: February 17 to March 10. June 18 to July 12. October 14 to November 3.

What kind of introspective work are you planning?

***OUR EVOLVING FUTURE***

Are You Afraid of Change?

Some of the rebellion in the world is about power but another part of the rebellion is fear of change.  The strong desire to keep things as they are. Familiar.  Comfortable. Reassuring in their familiarity. Considering the giant changes in the world, we each need to become more flexible – curious, and flexible.  What is newly possible and how do we want to adjust?

It is comforting to keep things the way they are.  There are no surprises.  However, there is also no adventure, no new discovery.

Change can be scary. It can make you move into unfamiliar circumstances and forces us to make new decisions and even change our direction.

But change is inevitable. It is ongoing.  And we must learn to embrace and cultivate it.

Do you have a fear of change? Do you want to keep things the way there are – familiar, comfortable, reliable, unchanging?

If you are not willing to change, you cannot grow and you will never have any adventures….!

You need to be introspective in order to understand what is being offered to you.  You need to be patient and allow life to unfold.  You need to have moments of contemplative stillness in order for the Universe to guide you to your new place of being or new place of service.

This new era that is unfolding is one adventurous, unexpected, and unusual choice after another.  Begin by letting go of all but your bare bones, and thoughtfully explore and try on new ways to change.  And how that change – enthusiastically embracing that change – will change the unfolding of your future.

Don’t go back Go forward. Keep changing. Keep experimenting.  Keep exploring. Changing is a wonderful adventure and will lead you where you need to be next.

MESSAGE FROM THE SACRED EARTH ORACLE CARDS

Balance

“Balance” is the oracle card I drew for us to consider. It shows two women, one in red, one in blue held together by a band of energy but leaning in opposite directions.  I know that feeling.  How do you find and keep balance in your life?

First, you have to notice how you are balanced.  Is your time focused more heavily on work?  Are you more focused on one activity than another? Are things not getting done that need to be done? It’s great to get lost in enthusiastic exploration, but we must learn to mindfully make choices that return us to balance.

My prime example comes from cutting back on my offerings. It gives me space and time in which I get to check inside to see what I feel like doing or not doing next. Taking that pause to find my balance gives me time and space to let my new ideas mature and be evaluated as to their place in my overall journey. It gives me time to explore.

This care shows two paths, going in different directions.  How can you align your paths so they move side by side in the same direction? How are you being pulled in two different directions? What do you need to change?  Let go of?

Look over your spiritual life, your work life, and your relationships and see what you need to bring into greater balance.   How will you do that?

Sacred Earth Cards

CARA’S CORNER

Our World as the Circle of Light Beings

I am a guide, an explorer who does not choose to travel the worn paths but instead, uses her curiosity and desire to expand to move off into the Unseen World.  I feel and experience two distinct levels of being on our planet.  There is my all-inclusive awareness of the Circle of Light Beings, to which everyone reading this belongs.  And there are others who are not yet aware of their own light.  As far as I can tell, our job as an aware light being is to keep raising our vibration  and singing our light through every choice we make, every thought we think. Those who can, those who are ready, will see that light shining in themselves and choose to work with it, to develop it, to expand it, to let their inner light guide them.  Shaman Sandra Ingerman said not everyone will choose this path and we have to be OK with that.  She also suggested we would eventually live in parallel universes.  Hummm.   I do know that I chose to be with and work with and learn from those who are working and living in their own light, who continue to find new ways to raise the vibration of their light and its reach.

We have choice here.  Keep raising your vibration, extend the reach of your light, and invite others to join us in this raised consciousness and purposeful journey of light.

How to Connect with Those Who are looking in a Different Direction

How to Connect with Those Who are looking in a Different Direction

Creating Conscious Connection

Ashe
(“Ah-Shay”)
The Creative in me honors the Creative in you!

Our discussion was about how or what to do to communicate with some of the radical, discordant thinking that made itself so blatantly known in the US recently.

My first thought is that you cannot reach those people on a mental level because that’s also where their rhetoric and motion is coming from.  And if they are following threads of misinformation, words cannot even begin to connect.

We have all manner of metaphysical things to consider as we respond and/or react to our changing world.

What you focus on persists.

We have this negative energy coming together.  It is the center of the news and the concern.  To focus on it gives it more strength. We don’t want to focus on it but we do want to protect ourselves from it.

We get to do all of that, – be aware of the discord, focus on raising the vibration of the collective whole, and set up protection for ourselves from the negativity.

My major thought is that you cannot connect on the physical level with those who are what – angry, misinformed, building on a negative premise?  We cannot connect mentally or emotionally. But we are all one energy.  And at its heart it is an energy of wholeness – One.  All-That Is.

Those of us who can, have to help others see and recognize in themselves the energy of Oneness, the core of who we are in the Great Nothingness.  We cannot solve this on the physical plane. We are to heal the negativity on the spiritual plane.

How do we do that?

The image I keep coming to is a field of golden spiritual consciousness surrounding the earth.  Those of us who are aware of being part of that consciousness shine our lights as brightly as we can.  And some others, who are caught up in the mundane physical plane, look up and see us and say, “Oh, I remember that part of me. I want to go to that place again.”

And they do. The instant they make that choice their vibration raises. The minute they begin to turn inward and nurture their inner light, their vibration raises. As they walk with more awareness of themselves as Light Beings, others begin to see that Light of Oneness in themselves too and they choose that as their new focus.

What we focus on persists.

I started to say that I’m going to cut back on my news watching and develop a spiritual practice that sends healing energy to the earth. Lobbing Light Balls comes to mind. But that keeps me focused on the negativity that is abundant in the world.  I have to change my focus. I have to focus on the positive, the good, our wholeness.

Expand your spiritual practice of Oneness.

I can work to raise my own vibration so I shine brighter and further and others see the light in themselves and pass it forward. I do that through intention.

Watch where your focus is taking you. Where you allow it to take you. Raise your sights.  Focus on the higher vibration that is shining forth from many of us. Seek out those fellow Light Bearers and support each other in being brighter, more far-reaching lights.

I move now to do my inner world and shift my focus away from the negativity on the physical plane. To change the world I have to change myself so how do I begin?

Monitor your thoughts.

When you find yourself in a place of anger or judgment or fear, stop those thoughts and immerse yourself in the Oneness that holds us all.

Monitor your actions.

Rather than try to argue with someone you disagree with, hold your own vibration high and continue to raise it.  The other person may or may not be aware of the choice you are offering – for them to raise their own vibration.  They may feel it but not understand it.  Hold steady in the Light. They will either recognize it in themselves – or they won’t.

Monitor your chores.

The majority of our work has to be within ourselves.  In my Sacred Garden of Self, I can plant and cultivate and harvest whatever I choose.  If you are looking at a seed catalog to see what to plant in your Inner Garden of Self, notice what you do NOT want to grow as well as what you do want to cultivate.

Spend time comparing varieties of the same plant in order to choose the ones that best adapt to where you have placed your garden.

You don’t plant everything in the sun, some plants need shade.  Some need more water and some need less water.  Each concept you plant in your Garden of Self has its own rhythm, its own unfolding process and its own growing needs.

What if some seeds come over from the neighbors garden that I don’t want in mine?  Be aware of the  unwanted seeds that take root.  Weed your Inner Garden regularly and keep an eye out for the seeds you do not want to grow in your Sacred Garden of Self.

Becoming aware of what seeds you are allowing to grow in your Garden of Self is a very powerful step to take.   You can weed out beliefs, misconceptions, ideas you unconsciously picked up from someone whose beliefs are different from yours. You are the gardener here.  It is your job to cultivate and nurture what you want to grow and weed out what is not wanted.

Change your thinking, change your life.  You get what you believe you deserve and what you believe is possible.

What are you thinking?

What is growing in your Inner Garden of Self?

Our Ongoing Journey into the New Consciousness

An Exploration of the Unseen World

There is tremendous and dramatic change in the world around us.  It is the emergence of the feminine, the rise of a New Consciousness.  Not all of us are called to rise to this higher vibration but those that are finding each other and are being bolstered as we gather together on this journey into the New Consciousness.

I journeyed to ask for insights and guidance around this massive change the world is undergoing.  I was surprised and bolstered by the answer I received.

***INNER WORK***

What Started You on the Path You are On?

Look back over your life and identify the major choices you made that brought you to where you are today. That includes the family you chose to be born into.  Identify the major choices that led you to where you are now. They become guideposts for creating your “next”.

My need to write showed up in High School where I began contributing to the school paper as a sophomore and became editor my senior year.  A comparative religion course I took in college opened up an awareness I had not had before. My choice to not take a news reporting class as part of my Speech and Drama degree left out some valuable information I had to acquire later.  And dropping out of my undergrad play writing class when we were told to write about what we knew – and I did’t think I knew anything. (I made that up in my 40’s when I went back to get my Master’s Degree.)

My first job out of college was as a Radio Continuity editor at KMBC radio in Kansas City.

A few years later I applied for a job as a copywriter in an Advertising Agency. I was told to write a black and white ad and had to ask what that was.  I finally figured out it was a print ad and wrote one.  I got the job.

I became online talent in television when I was a copywriter and a salesman told me to write myself into a commercial for a client of his.  The opening lines were “Your eyes are your most important possession.”  It was the beginning of a modest career in television.

The most life-changing choice I made was to move from the mid-west to New York City where my broad and enthusiastic holistic education took place.  It would not have been available to me at that time anyplace else in the world.

There are choices you have made in your life that opened doors to new adventures and shut the doors to other pathways.   Can you identify some of the major choices you made that brought you to where you are now? How did that work out? What are you choosing in the moment?  Where will that lead you?

What self-aligned choices can you make today?

Stretch

I have drawn the oracle card “Stretch” four times in the month that I have had my Sacred Earth cards.  Each time I journal what it means to me. The picture shows a woman with both deepening roots and spreading branches so I understand that I am to use my Still Point to move more deeply within to explore the Unseen World and turn and translate that to share with others.

It is like drawing up nourishment from Gaia, I am to draw in the awareness, the insights, the consciousness of the Unseen World.  Then turn to raise my vibration, to share what I have discovered. “Stretch” means to expand, to reach for.  It means being able to expand without tearing or breaking. What are you reaching for? And are you reaching far enough?  And high enough?

What Are You Breathing In?

There is both negative and positive energy and in each moment we have a choice which one we breathe in. We do that with our intention.

We are constantly breathing energy in and breathing energy out.  In each moment, we have a choice whether to breathe in positive energy or breathe in negative energy.  We have a choice with each breath.

Set your intention. Do not breathe in negativity.  Do breathe out inclusive, high vibration.  Be aware of your choices.

We are self-healing.  Use your breath to consciously bring in energy that heals you. Go to Gaia and the elements and breathe in their power.

If you don’t breathe in consciously you are not consciously breathing out. We have the power to transform and transmit all energy – with a conscious, intentional breath.

***OUTER WORK***

Be Flexible in Your Thinking  – It Opens New Doors

There are many ways to do things.  Think of cooking – you can bake, fry, steam, eat raw – all of those approaches produce edible food.  Think of the many spices one can add to a meal.  That’s the kind of flexible and innovative choices you want to add to your thinking.

Not just in how you do it but in when you do it and what you choose to do.

It involves some exploring.  With a goal of sharing what I learn, I can consider posts, newsletters, podcasts, videos, and books.  My choice is based on what I want to do and what reaches the most people.

Explore your options and possibilities.  I explore.  I experiment.  I discover that one form really pleases me and I’m rather good at it.  I make a choice only after exploring and experimenting and seeing how that form is received.

Be flexible in your thinking and do a lot of exploring and experimenting before you choose a path.

Let Go – Make Room

My daughter Cathy and her husband Ron came and helped me make a major change – I got rid of a lot of stuff I was no longer using!  It was my idea to give some stuff away and I worked for three days taking things out of closets and bookcases.  There were moments of sadness as I remembered how I used to be when I used those things.  I pulled out a lot of things to give away.

But Cathy was relentless as she took on my pantry where all manner of things were crowded together.   “When was the last time you used this?”  was her mantra.  And in most cases, I had kept it “just in case” and it had not been used in years.

We forget why we hang on to things.

Whether it’s a closet or your cluttered desktop, rethink what you keep around you and be relentless in the choosing.

There comes a time when we cannot reach high places and low places in our home. There comes a time when we can’t reach into the corner to clean. There comes a time when we simply need to give away what we no longer use or need.

If you have an older person in your life, consider offering your strength and flexibility to help them reorganize their space with one intention being to give things away and make the things they use more assessable.

***DEEPEN  YOUR SPIRITUAL PRACTICE***

Let Your Daily Spiritual Practice Evolve

A daily spiritual practice can be short or long. it can be simple or elaborate.  The purpose, the intention, is to move you from your physical plane limitation into the expanded power and overarching guidance of the Unseen World.  The All That Is. The Nowhere That You Came From. You seek to cultivate the vibration of wholeness.  You want to connect with it, experience it and draw it more fully into your life.

A deep breath to your Still Point is an easy place to begin. In several breaths, you can drop away from your humanness and go deep within.

Find a way to connect with nature.  She is our guide.  Her seasons, her cycles, her power are lessons and guides for us.  We are part of nature, we are to express ourselves with the same fluidity.

I sit looking out a window and play my native flutes.  Two squirrels are playing tag there.  I can see the shape-shifting clouds and I have a large weeping birch who is my tree messenger to send positive energy to the world.

Honor the elements.  I have chosen crystals for each element. I have made up songs for each element.  Elements are powerful teachers.  Take time to connect with the elements each day.

Set an intention.  Mine often revolves around a blessing for the words I write or share – that they touch hearts and change lives.

You can have an opening and closing of the day – a moment of contemplation.  I sometimes play down the sun with my flutes.

I bless my work for the day.  I bless the food that I choose.  I offer gratitude for my body’s support.

You know how to do this.  Create small focused moments of gratitude and blessing at several points in your day.

Use the Intention of Your Breath for Healing

We can heal and realign and restore through the power of our breath. When you take in a breath consciously, take in the higher vibration, not the lower vibration that is so prevalent in the world today. We do that through the power of our intention.   Through intention, take in your breath from the higher vibration, the Oneness, the All That Is.  Let it heal your body, your thoughts, your intentions, and when you breathe out, breathe out oneness and serenity into the energy of the planet.

Focus the Tone of each Day with an Intention

I have a sequence of spiritual steps I take each morning but I had not thought about programming my day until Shama Puma Fredy Quispe Singona suggested it. What is the purpose of your day?  What focus do you want it to bring to you?  When lessons do you want to receive? What gifts do you want to offer? The Universe will give you all of that but setting an intention for each day will help you recognize the guidance that comes in.

Use your breath to create a small Ceremony of intention for the focus, outcome, and well-being of your day.

The headline was “Great change only comes with great friction.” I don’t choose to look at change that way. I see myself welcoming change, encouraging change, embracing change.  To make room for change I have to willingly let go – of beliefs that no longer serve, solutions that no longer work.  The more powerful word is unfolding.  Just keep looking closely at what shows up.  Change is all around you. Change is up to you. Focus it.   Embrace it.

***OUR EVOLVING FUTURE***

Choice

We are moving through a period of domestic terrorism in the US.  As I watch these citizens of a country built on democracy work to overthrow the government, I also know they have no clue what to do if they were in charge. There is no plan, only the anger which in this case is fueled by major disinformation and decades of white supremacist beliefs.

They exist.  They are dangerous. And there are many who are undertaking to stop their actions.

And I choose to shift my focus, to look in a more positive direction.  Not ignoring the evil, just gathering hope and purpose from looking in another direction.  It is a consciences choice I make.

As I watch President Joe Biden put extremely skilled and experienced people in charge of all aspects of government, I see a powerful, opening light at the end of the tunnel.  A new beginning.  A new era.  I have hope and confidence in the unfolding of the future.  That’s where I choose to focus my gaze.

Ok, that’s my pep talk for those of us in the US.  Now let’s get to what we, as individuals get to do in every moment of our lives that impacts, influences and directs what happens next.  We get to choose.  Over and over and over.  Our choices create our future.  Our choice of reactions, or mindful choices.  Our choice of action or non-action.  Our choice of where we focus, our choice of who we are and what we support, our choice of the steps we take to move ourselves forward.

Choice is our tool.  Choice is how we change directions.  Choice is how we learn.

Where have your current choices led you? What choices are you making for yourself and where will it take you next?

Chose your next role. It helps me to understand that I’m an energy worker, not a hands-on worker. That awareness focuses my search for how I am to be in service in this unfolding new world we are experiencing.  The choice of your role focuses your path and guides you to your future.

Re-think and re-chose the purpose of  your work.  I seek to raise my own vibration and help others do the same.  I do that by exploring the Unseen World for insights and guidance that I interpret and bring back to share. I have developed several platforms through which to share. Focus on your purpose. It helps you make powerful and aligned choices.

Explore your options. What conscious thoughts are you exploring?  Choose one and walk down the path a bit to see if it takes you in the direction you want to go. How does it feel?  Where will it take you?  Is that where your heart wants you to go next?  Who do you see walking the path beside you, in front of you or right behind you?  Are they the people you want to walk with? To learn from?

Keep exploring until you are walking along the path that will take you in the direction you want to go in this moment. Then get to work.

Professional Evolution – Stay Relevant

The clever people will keep up with the new discoveries and quickly get the training they need to stay relevant.  We can refuel an airplane with elements found in air while it is flying in mid-air. What kind of jobs does that create that never existed before and which jobs does that new technology make obsolete?

As we move to solar and wind-power, entire industries will be elevated. And new professions will be created.

They can print a 3D house in three weeks.  What does that do for carpenters and electricians and painters?  Do real estate agents turn and help the underprivileged?  Each one of these areas will be impacted and each one will have new job descriptions that need filling.

How flexible are you?  How curious are you?  Are you keeping up with the new possibilities, the new rapidly unfolding potential?

I’m a writer.  There is now a way to write with the help of Artificial Intelligence!!!!

And there are audiobooks and videos and podcasts – each venue nurtures a separate audience and each venue requires some different talents in my skill set.

Can you create an online program that teaches bored children and keeps them entertained while their parents work from home?  How does a person who knows about waiting tables repurpose and retrain themselves in order to find employment?  What skills have you overlooked that could be utalized in order to open new forms of employment?

Nothing is the same and we each have to go exploring.  How are you staying relevant?

***MESSAGE FROM THE SACRED EARTH CARDS***

I have been drawing an oracle card for myself every day.  I turn to my computer and journal what ideas come up.  I also put a date on it.  What I am finding is that the same card shows up several times a few days apart and each time I write how I interpret it, I gain new insights.

I drew an oracle card for us this week and got two cards:

CORE

This is an amazing cad.  It shows a woman with an open heart and her hands on her solar plexus pulling up all she has to radiate out through her third eye.   We make a powerful difference when we come from our hearts.  We make aligned decisions when we come for our inner knowing.

Whatever you do, do it with your whole self.  Immerse yourself in the doing, then given yourself over to the flow from inner to outer. Live your life from the center of you.  Nurture yourself at your core and feel the power of your core radiate out in all you think and say and do.

INNOCENCE

“Innocence” is the second card I drew for us this month.  They were “stuck” together and came out as a pair.  It shows a woman holding a dove with great tenderness and care.  Her third eye is open and all-seeing. At the top are the phases of the moon. The natural organic, ongoing cycles of life.  How do we interpret this for us today?

Look beyond the physical manifestation to the soul, the core, the essence – in yourself and in others.  To care for yourself be aware of the opportunities to make choices – to begin again with a fresh clean start.  Treat those fledging ideas with gentleness and listen to your inner voice, your inner eyes for the fresh insight, the new energy, the purest way to begin from where you are. Innocence – Lay down everything and begin with an open heart.

We seem to have a message of “core innocence”.

CARA’S CORNER

The Discomfort of Healing

There was a large physical shift and I knew that the 90 minutes call I had been on in Zoom with my fellow healers had moved something within me.  I really, really, really hurt.  It hurt to stand, it hurt to sit, it hurt to lie down.  Not that we have to hurt to heal but I am going through an organic process of realigning my spine and posture and the muscles are being cranky as we make the shift.

I’m not certain what happened, just that something let go and my body rearranged itself.   I stood differently.

Change does not have to be painful. However, if you suddenly  remove a blockage, all sorts of things are going to get grouchy as they move  back into alignment.  Cranky – my body was really cranky….

You know how one small course correction can take you miles away from your destination?  So a small adjustment on the physical plane can take you on a new adventure.

How do I know it is a healing? Because change is healing. Because I simply know.  And I am listening and changing my intentions and raising my expectations so my body can adjust and move in the direction it needs to go next.

Beware of change. Be flexible in change.  Welcome change.  Adjust to change. Let change open up new vistas for o to explore. Change means you are can choose a new direction and that is a good thing.

How to Lob Light Balls to the World

An Exploration of the Unseen World

Sometimes I feel helpless, sitting here, one person with a great desire to heal our world.  I always feel better when I lob a few light balls to the areas of conflict.

Lob a light ball.  We can all do that.  I don’t see it as putting out a fire, I see it as raising the vibration so those who see it recognize their own powerful personal light and bring their light to the situation they are in.

And when they, do, when they join us, we collectively raise the vibrio of the planet.

Pretty good work for an old lady in the Midwest.  Will you join me?

I’m Cara Lumen, spiritual philosopher and founder of the Deeper Song Community. I am a cosmic explorer who consciously travels into the unseen world to serve as a bridge to help us expand our relationship with the spiritual world. I share what I learn and guide those who are ready to the next level so we can sing a deeper song.

Thank you for being a part of this journey.

In this episode of Reflections of a Deeper Song, we learn How to Lob Light Balls to the World.

I don’t remember when I first started lobbing light balls. But I know why I did.  I’m 88 and my activist choices seem to be centered in intentional energy work. We can all do that.

Sometimes I sit here and watch the many disruptions all over the planet and I feel a bit inadequate to do anything. Until I remember Light Balls.  I can lob Light balls any place I want.  Like Lebron James or Steph Curry, just making one ringer after another.

A Light Ball carries your intention.

A Light Ball raises vibration.

A Light Ball encourages others to raise their own light.

That’s a lot of positive change coming for lobbing a light ball!

Light Balls carry your intention.

A light ball is just that – light – vibrating wholeness. It carries with it a higher vibration that enables us, each and eery one of us, wherever we are, to send a light ball of raised vibrational energy to any situation, any person, any group of people, or any disruption in nature.

Our initial tendency is to work only from within our body existence and allow ourselves to feel limited by our thoughts and our emotions. Bur remember  when we are so much more than that. Our Higher Self works in the Unseen World and it can do anything!!!

Lobbing a Light ball is extremely empowering.

For me, the purpose of a light ball is to do just that, bring some light into the darkness, some compassion and inclusion and – you get the picture – a Light Ball goes and does what light does – it raises the vibration and reminds us that we are all one energy.

That’s pretty powerful stuff.

How do we use these Light balls?  Why do we use these light balls?

A light Ball raises vibration.

Sometimes I lob a lot of light balls in one direction.  Sometimes I toss light balls more often than at other times  but the intention is the same – to remind us all that we are one whole interconnected vibration, that there is no difference and we harm ourselves when we harm others.

That’s a lot of powerful results come from a little light ball.

I have also been known to toss a light ball up in the air and then stand under it till it bops me on the head and I get it!

Now, I could attach a strong intention to the light ball I lob, but light is light and it is whole and that’s what I want to send – the awareness of, the feeling of the knowledge of our oneness, our wholeness, our inclusion in the one energy.

A light ball.  Lob a light ball…

I suppose we could make them colored, but I’ll leave that up to the light ball.  And since I send it with my intention, I don’t even have to be a particularly good shot  – it knows where it is to go.

Light Balls know where they are needed, so you can toss them in the air with a general intention, and like a guided missile, off they go.

And you can also focus light balls on a specific situation or an energy of unrest.

I journeyed to find out how best to use Light Balls.  Here are some of the insights I received:

Light balls carry a high vibration that can raise the consciousness of any situation.

Light balls know where their energy is needed.

Light balls know whose heart is open.

Light balls carry a high vibration that can raise the consciousness of any situation.

When you chose to Lob a Light Ball you begin by raising your vibration, by making your intention be for the highest good of all. You do not choose an outcome, you simply send in a higher vibration though the Light.

Light balls know where the energy is needed

Let the light balls go out into the planet’s atmosphere and like a programed drone, know where they are to go, where they are needed.  There is great power in the light.  We may choose an overall intention to send light balls to a special situation but then we release the light balls so they can go where they are most needed.  There is no way we can know whose heart is open or who is ready to change, but Light does.  Light knows who is ready to raise their vibration and it will move to those who are ready.  Ready to raise their vibrato-in  Ready to raise their light.

Light balls know where their energy is needed.

Light balls know whose heart is open.

A light ball is an intently raised vibration that goes where it is needed. A Light Ball encourages those it lands on to raise their own light.

So here’s what is happening.  This is a transformative period in which those of us who are aware of ourselves as light move more deeply into our light center, raise our vibration, and move into a new level of conscoioiusness . Not everyone is called to this next step, but those of us who are, are to act as a bridge for others who are ready to raise their awareness and move into the new consigns. We do that through our example. We do that by raising our vibration and sending out light.  One of the ways we can do that is by lobbing night balls.

What happens when a person reeve the light ball? They recognize the light within themselves and recognize it as a part of themselves they want to cultivate and expand.  They respond. They look up and there, encircling the planet is an ever-thickening layer of light – our collective, intentional energy, our combined energy holding high watch for the world, inviting other beings to join us.  We are joined in raising the collective consciousness all over the world.

Those who see, respond.  They raise their vibration. They begin sharing their own light in a more conscious way.  The world balances.

Light balls know who’s heart is open.  They are heart-seeking missiles that are drawn to those who are ready to open their hearts further and raise their vibration and move into the New Consciousness.

Just as the roots of the trees connect all trees to each other under the ground, our light, our intention healing light, our light of oneness, will journey where it is needed in the situation or person you direct them to. They know what is needed.  They know the specific place to shed light to change the entire trajectory of the situation.

Light Balls know where to go, who is ready to receive their enlightened energy. Bless the light balls, release  them and let your general intention carry them where they are most needed, to those who are ready to receive them, to bring the light into their heart and create positive change.

It only takes a second to lob a light ball.  One thought, one intention and it’s done.

Lob a light ball to a friend who is struggling.

Lob a light ball to people and places on the planet that are struggling.

Toss a Light ball up in the air and stand under it until it bops you on the head…

It’s not about looking for negative energy, it is more about encouraging you to feel that you are working for a higher good and it is effective.

Next time you are feeling a tad helpless, get out our bag go light balls and like a ball throwing machine, start tossing them out into our world with the intention that those who see them and are ready, will recognize that light within themselves and will join us in the collective consciousness that is forming a layer of fling around our planet.

Transformational Influence

Insights From A Deeper Song

Ashe
(“Ah-Shay”)
The Creative in me honors the Creative in you!

Transformation means to change.  It refers to a dramatic change, a life-altering change.  And the stimulus for change comes from many places – your own inner awareness, the actions of another toward you, the action others offer that inspire you.

How do you become aware of your influence?  Some of it is obvious – the response of others to you, your presence, your contributions.

They reflect back to you the energy you are putting out.  The people you come in contact with are your mirror. They reflect back to you the energy you are offering. How are you doing?

Transformational influence is a huge concept.  Influence that assists in transformation.  That’s a big responsibility.  Parents are a transformational influence on their children.  A boss can be a transformation influence on those they work with – how they encourage them, how they guide them. And of course, those who consciously work to help others along the path also create transformational change.

We might want to begin with ourselves. How can we be a transformational influence on ourselves?

I can expand elements of my spiritual practice. I can deepen my flute mediation. I can set aside more time to do the moving meditation of Qi Gong.  I can make up songs to nature or simply be with the wind in the branches of a tree.  I can cultivate my Still Point. And I can do more transformational breathing.

Transformational influence begins with you working on yourself.  Then you understand how impactful it is, how helpful it is and then you turn and assist others.

What kind of a transformational influence with you be today?

CREATIVE INTENTIONAL STIMULATION

Whether we realize it or not, when we seek and absorb new wisdom, we find that our perception of the world changes and that our minds open to possibilities we might not have considered before.

That’s a lot to gain from a bit of intellectual exploring. I’m talking about spiritual exploration here, the kind that opens the door to vast realms of awareness and a new clarity of consciousness. That’s s a lot to gain from some intellectual exploration.

So where do you begin?  That depends on what calls to you.  I love Stephen Mitchells’ translation of the Tao Te Ching.  I can read the Essential Rumi forever.  I am taking a class from Den Ming-Tao and I have read seven or eight of his books like 365 Tao.  Oh, and Emerson – Self Reliance comes to mind.

Writing this inspires me to reread seem of these.  Each day, 20 minutes or so, and then take time to contemplate what I read.  I usually get inspired to write something.

Study to awaken.  Study to expand your awareness.  Study to open new portals to explore.  Every day create intentional stimulation.

A fe of my favorites:

Stephen Mitchell, Tao Te Ching

Stephen Mitchell, The Second Book of Tao

Ralph Waldo Emerson, Self Reliance

Kalhil Gibran, The Prophet

Essential Rumi, trs Coleman Barks

Outer Work

RETHINK YOUR POSITION

It was a simple change, really and it opens up so many possibilities.  Sometimes the simplest change can open up a vast new world of possibilities.

I have kept my flutes by my desk but I moved them to a chair so I can look out the window when I play them.

That change sent a bit of a ripple effect because that allowed me to do all sorts of rearranging around my desk surface.  Simple really. Where do you actually need something to be?  It can be a physical object or the timing of an action. Where do you play it so it is most useful and effective?

I also moved a plant out of my meditation area and I can now more easily reach the various instruments there. But I also moved my Kalimba Thumb Piano to that corner and that has allowed me to play her mellow and soothing songs more readily.  Moving things around can promote more effective usage.

I keep tweaking my very casual schedule to fit the action with my mood.  I think I’ve spotted a few adjustments I can make that will allow me to accomplish what I need to in a time frame that I am willing to do it. Willingness is important…

Simplify.  I could, but I won’t have seasonal displays – put some things away for a season so I can enjoy and notice what I have out.  I don’t, but I could.
Make a list of what you would like more of in your life. Make a list of what you could do with less of in your life.  Make some adjustments.  Rethink your positioning and make room for more of the good stuff!

***

PRACTICE

Everything you don’t practice regularly is difficult. Anything you’ve not yet had instructions and training in is difficult.

Let’s start with instructions.  There are instructions on how to do everything online, from making podcasts to taking a cutting from a plant to learning to play the native flute. What do you want to learn?  What do you need to know?

The good thing about online learning is that you can explore and then go as deep as you are called. I have taken online classes in shamanism, drumming, Qi Gong, and native flu playing. I learned how to do podcasts online and how to make videos.  Everything you want to learn is online.

Once you have decided what you want to learn and have had some instruction, you need to practice. When I first started editing in GarageBand again after four years away from podcasting, I was pouncing on the keyboard with a fair amount of tension.  As I got better, I am more relaxed and more efficient – because I have practiced.

Whether you want to learn something for fun or learn something for a purpose, first get instruction and then practice – a lot…

THE POWER OF DELETE

Ok, this is a lame example, but I just figured out how to delete the junk file in my email and empty the trash there.  But most of all I figured out how to delete in the present moment, the 10-15 political emails that come in for instance.  It’s as simple as the delete key.  I just hadn’t been doing it.
So I’m looking at what else I could/should delete in my life the minute it shows up.  Negative thoughts, of course, uncertainty too. This new awareness helps me think to press delete on stuff that shows up in my daily life.

But what about the junk file, the trash file.  What am I holding on to that needs to go?

I begin with my belief file  – what I believe I deserve and what I believe can happen.  I must check that out frequently.

Just notice all the “messages” you are getting and selectively use the delete key.  It will keep your “instrument” moving efficiently along.

***

FLEXIBLE SPIRITUALITY

It’s really hard when you hold a particular set of spiritual beliefs, to make it OK for others to have their unique beliefs.  But that would make you right and them wrong. And that’s not how spirituality works.

During my senior year in college, as an elective, I took a Worlds Great Religions class and learned about religions I had never heard of.  My question, as a Christian then was how do I know I’m right? Well, guess what, we are all right and we have to make room in our hearts and our minds for everyone to develop their own spiritual path and beliefs.  There is no one way, but we are all going in the same direction, toward an awareness of our Oneness.

When I moved into the world of energy healing, I began to learn the beliefs and techniques of other countries –  Yoga, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, acupressure, acupuncture, Bach flowers, reiki.  I learned of Dr. Imoto’’s water/sound experiments. I learned to send energy outside of time and space in reiki.  I immersed myself in New Thought as I became a practitioner and teacher in the Center for Spiritual Living.  I delved deeply into Taoism.  I explored and immersed myself in shamanism.

All of these explorations are what make up my spiritual philosophy and they are uniquely mine because of the distinctive combination of philosophies that I have embraced and incorporated into my life.  As I continue to explore I find some ideas hold more appeal than others and I explore and embrace them.

Our personal beliefs have developed thought-out our lifetime and have been shaped by our life experiences – who we learn from, what we experience.  They are uniquely ours.

In order to live comparably, cohesively, and effectively, we have to allow each person to have their own beliefs without trying to foist ours on them.   Live and let live.  Build your faith on what you figure out, not what others tell you that you should believe. That’s a big one.  We never think to question the spiritual path we were put on by our parents and probably their parents before them. Give yourself permission to do that. As a unique, responsible spiritual being, question not just your beliefs but the source of your beliefs.

For instance, I can no longer use the word “God” because it conjures up a judgmental father figure.  That doesn’t work for me.  But I love the idea of “Tao” as in we are all Tao.

Choose your own spiritual path and let others chose theirs. If you feel disagreement, look more deeply at the foundation of the other person’s beliefs and of yours.  We are true, One.

Spirality is a personal path, a personal choice, a personal awareness – for everyone. Give yourself space to spiritual explore and expand.

OVERWHELM AND CONSCIOUS SELECTION

Everyone is offing a free summit now and I have moved into overwhelm.  It is clear I have to be selective.  I can’t do it all. I don’t want to do it all.  So how do I choose?

I basically listen to my inner voice. I  knew I wanted to immerse myself in the Qi Gong summit and the Shamanism Summit and the Sound Healing summit.  And I did.  I managed about 15 speakers in each of them.
Which is probably why I feel full up as more summits appear.

I almost signed up for a monthly call but on a closer look at the content, it is not exactly what I want right now. It does not represent where I am on my journey where I am headed.

We need to be clear about our path.  It doesn’t mean we can’t go on detours, but it does help if we have a sense of our general basic direction so we don’t take so many detours.

Can you tell the difference between something o need/want to learn and a bright shay object?

You can when you become clear about or path, your purpose, your journey.
I look back at what I wrote four years ago and I do not want to revisit those topics.  I own that information and those insights. I have absorbed it and my path has to lead me onward.  Know when you are finished with an aspect of your learning.

Listen to your inner voice.  If a new idea or direction or summit calls to you, have a conversation with your inner voice, and figure out what you are going to do with the information you will take time to learn.

I’m pretty much full up of sound healing – for now.  I am in the process of reestablishing my  Qi Gong practice.  I will always go to the Shamanism summits.  So while I  look over these multiple opportunities to hear more speakers and learn more things I daw my own personal line. I know where I am going and what I need to learn to keep on my path.

Don’t let yourself be tempted by what is not aligned with your path. Be clear about where you are going, choose only those steps that move you forward and you will not feel overwhelmed.

OUR EVOLVING FUTURE

In my weekly class with shamanist Hank Wesselman, we journey.  This week our journey was about moving our anchor from the negative to the positive.  We had our Guides help us.  It was a fascinating journey.

Where are you anchored?  We are surrounded by negativity and chaos.  Is that where you want to live?  To be?  Change is as simple as shifting your gaze.  What you look for you see. Keeping shining and saying and doing positive things.  Monitor your own words and thoughts and when a negative idea comes up, bop it on the head and send it on its way.

In the journey, we metaphorically lifted our anchor out of the negative and symbolically placed our anchor, the thins that holds us steady, into the positive.

You can do that.

CARA’S CORNER

The Too Handy Drawer

You know that drawer that is so handy that you stuff all manner of things in it?  We all have one  It contains things we don’t’ know what else to do with.  It may contain things we need to find in an emergency.

Periodically we have to empty that nearby handy drawer and rethink what we put into it. We’re taking physical drawers as well as the cupboards of our life.

My awareness came when I got a new set of nutritional herbs to take daily. I began to look at my kitchen to see what I was keeping close at hand and what could be put elsewhere.  My counters are pretty much a mess.

The handiest, most relevant drawer is narrow but it held things I will never, ever use.  They had accumulated over time.  You know that that feeling.  So I emptied the drawer and made some decisions – how do I want to use that drawer, what do I use more often, and what was no longer relevant.

That’s a good place to start with the handy drawer of life.  What have you stuck in it and what would you choose to keep in it if there were room?
Let’s look at the metaphor of the handy drawer of a day. If I had an empty day what would I put into it?  What would l use the most, what is too big for the drawer of one day?

In the case of my kitchen drawer, there were utensils I no longer used.  I put them in a box in my pantry.

I rethought the purpose of the drawer.  I was using it for two things, kitchen scissors which I use a lot for my Amazon packages, and those rubber things to help you open jars. The rest got moved out to make room for what was more relevant.

I looked at the drawer I call my life.  I emptied it for a moment and made some decisions about what I wanted close at hand.

And I discovered a great many things I could get rid of put in another place.
For instance, I can no longer read print books because of my eyes.  Yet I still keep around me 50 or so books that are impertinent to me.  What if I gave a few away, bought Kindle versions of what I want to read (I’ve actually already done a bit of that) kept the ones that I still wanted to keep, and send the others on to a new life, a new person to teach? A very open-shelved bookcase would emerge.

A long time ago some wrote about giving stuff away.  The suggestion was to put everything from the kitchen (for instance) in the garage, and bring in only what you use.  After a month, give the tings in the grace away. The point was that you could probably replace the things you have given away for $20.

We hand on to so much that we no longer need.

But what about your life?  Are there friends who no longer resonate with the path you are on that you keep spending time with? Perhaps you adjust that.

Are the things you have chosen to do do-able?  I feel better when I get ahead of myself with competed podcasts.  It makes for a more balanced week when I crate two at a time.  Look at your workload and see where you are stuck or overwhelmed and take time to figure out an approach to balance it.

Rearrange your schedule. Working from home has eliminated a lot of travel time.  How consciously did you fill that time?  Did you move your exercise program to that freed up time in the morning?  Do you get up and do focused work before your family is up and take a nap in the afternoon?
Know what you need.  Know what your body needs and create a flexible schedule that addresses your own rhythm.

Just as you clean our the no longer useful items from that handy drawer, recreate an empty day like a masterpiece, a balanced choice of work and play, and spiritual practice.

Empty that handy drawer in your life that you put everything into and mindfully select what you want to keep close at hand.

What Lead Energy Are You Holding?

What Lead Energy Are You Holding?

Insights From A Deeper Song

Ashe
(“Ah-Shay”)
The Creative in me honors the Creative in you!

One of the most powerful ways we can help change the world around us is to simply hold space. How we hold that space is what will affect the results that manifest. We need to create space for quiet, internal awareness so our Lead Energy is positive and compelling. Did you know that when you send love to your immune system the cells respond? That’s very powerful to know.  What happens when we send love to our planet?

At any given moment ask “What is my Lead Energy?”   If it is not as positive and inclusive as you would like, change it.

I had not thought about my Lead Energy until I heard Daisy Lee talk about it on the Qi Gong Summit.  What energy is expressing itself in me right now? What energy is leading me forward? Anxiety or compassion and love? I have choice in each moment but first I have to identify my Lead Energy and then see how or if or how I want to change it.

That’s a hugely important question to ask as you move through your day. What energy am I leading with right now?  If you don’t like the answer change it.

Pause and experience your energy right now.  What are you focusing on?  What are you concerned about?  Are you angry or sad or serenely balanced?  Are you tense or released?  Centered or unfocused? Develop tools to return yourself to the center like breathing in serene energy and on the exhale, releasing the energy you no longer want to maintain. Breath is a cornerstone of the Qi Gong work.  There are many hand moments in Qi Gong that are gently gathering the support of the earth into your body, then reaching to the stars to bring in that wisdom and guidance. You can do that with just your breath too.

Together, we create a group chi field that has a particular resonance that is a result of our individual intentional choices of our Lead Energy.

Through intent and focus, merge your centered, focused Lead Energy into the Group Chi Energy field.  That Group Chi Field expresses outward into the world. It expands as our conscious intentions become focused in it.

First, understand yourself. Learn to become aware of your Lead Energy in different situations. Change your lead energy with focused intention and you will change the impact you have on the world.  As you increase your personal positive Chi energy, it merges with the global world energy and lifts the collective.

Share your authentic, vital essence.  People look at how you share, what you share, and how you embody your beliefs.  When you come from a place of inclusiveness and integrity, it attracts those you are meant to serve and reminds them of those qualities within themselves. Our centered existence is a powerful form of activism.

Activism thorough Being has great power.  There is stability in maintaining the peace of mind and peace of heart to hold space for others.  It takes courage to be a centered, loving energy among the chaos.  We lead by example. Others see our serene stillness and respond by stilling and centering themselves.

When we maintain centered stillness, we become a stable lead energy to the world around us. Our Lead Energy continues personal alignment and inclusive compassion. It becomes a beacon of light, a role model for how things can be. We truly become a beacon of peaceful coexistence.

We each manage our own energy.  What ripples out, what particular stone we choose to drop into the quiet pond to become the lead energy comes from our choice in every moment. Stay conscious.  Be aware. Chose wisely.

I like the idea of being a stone dropped into a quiet pond to see my energies of centered stillness move gently out into the world.

What lead energy are you maintaining?

DEEPER SONG AFFIRMATION

I am continually aware of the focus of my energy and

How to Cultivate Deep Listening
An Exploration of the Unseen World

You have access to great wisdom when you cultivate deep listening.  It begins with your intuition, your hunches, your nudges, and moves into the deep listening of your inner voice and your imagination.

It’s a journey of learning to trust.  It’s a skill of learning to interpret.  And it is the open portal to the Unseen World.

Inner Work

BREATH AND THE SPIRITUAL WORLD

When you breathe you move into the spiritual world.

There was much emphasis on breathing in the Qi Gong Summit.  It is simple to use and it is very, very powerful.

We use breath for clearing. We use breath for connection.  We use breath for self-healing.  We use breathe to live!

Close tour eyes and energetically connect with the center of the earth,  draw  in that life force, that energy of nature, and bring it up through your body to your heart.  Then reach up to your Soul Star and pull down wisdom and guidance and love into your heart. Sit with that awareness of wisdom and support. Sit there and radiate out your serenity.

Our breath connects us with our spiritual world.  Pause often and reach out.

Outer Work

WHERE IS YOUR NEXT PLACE OF SERVICE?

Those of us who are retired, or about to be, have a whole new world opening up to us.  In business, we look for who we want to serve.  I’m suggesting that in retirement we look for what we want to learn.  And go do that.

Don’t look at it as a hobby.  Look at it as a calling, something you are to learn and share with others.

The choice to follow what you want to learn is invigorating, stimulating, expanding, and frees you to follow whatever path calls to you.  When you turn and share your discoveries with others, it is exciting and rewarding. You are continually deepening your contribution to the world as you are expanding your own gifts.

You have 30 years in which to explore, to learn what calls to you, and share it in many ways.  Put those years to strong productive use creating work you can share that will change the lives of others.

Now THAT’S retirement!

OUR EVOLVING FUTURE

It is time for us to weave a new dream for the earth. Our thoughts create our reality so let’s get busy.

This is not about dreaming things back the way they were.  There are a lot of signs that were not working so well.  Turn away from the past and start weaving our future by noticing what is new, like solar cars, and 3-D houses printed in two weeks, and plastic roads and solar panels in the driveway that provide energy for the whole house, or the fact the solar panels can now be installed in apartment windows to provide energy. Those are major game changers we need to incorporate into our vision of the future.

The old ways are over.  We are to leave them behind and turn toward the future.  In doing so we must have our values firmly in place – compassion, inclusion, the well-being of all, always choosing for the highest good for all. It is a change in our awareness, in our focus, in our thinking.

Monitor your thoughts. Our thoughts create our reality so examine what you think is possible and rid yourself of limitations of what you used to believe.

Get creative in your dreaming for the New Consciousness that is forming. Open yourself to amazing possibilities.  And leave the old world behind. We are dreaming a new one into being!!!

Find Your Flow

My friend was trying to get herself organized and she had blocked off segments of time for specific actions. I told her I pretty much go with the flow.  I honor my natural rhythm. What is your natural rhythm? Have you stopped to find out?

My creative time is my most precious so it always has priority whenever it shows up in m day.

However, I want to add more Qi Gong in my life so I have begun doing a Chi Gong move each time I get up from my desk. Rather than setting aside a specific time in which to do a specific series of moments, I sprinkle Qi Gong throughout my day. I get in a lot of sprinkles.  I do Qi Gong When I leave my desk before I retune to my desk when I change tasks throughout the day.  Qi Gong is a serene, centering,  contemplative rhythm that is changing my experience of my day.

Do specific work when your energy calls for it. I am most creative in the morning so whenever I get to my desk, that becomes about 90 minutes of making stuff up. I love that part. I eat and have tea at 11 while watching the View.  I take a shamanic journey at 12:30. My afternoon work is about complexing something. I am searching for the time I am willing to cook in mid-afternoon.

Each day I only commit to one work task and one home care task. That doesn’t mean that’s all l do, it means that’s all l have on my to-do list.  It could be to record two podcasts and take out the trash.  The rest of my day unfolds organically but that’s all I have on my list to do. That allows me to not feel overwhelmed. I do the tasks I have chosen to do according to my natural energy flows.

It also helps when I focus on one type of action a day – a focus on recording, a focus on editing, a focus on writing.  I work in pairs on my podcast since they are short so I’m always ahead of my schedule.

Be flexible and responsive to your energy and/or inner nudges. Leave space to resend to sudden bursts of inspiration.  When you are responsive to your moods and stay flexible in your schedule it leaves room for you to deep dive into anything that calls to you. I may take a shamanic journey and get some deep idea I want to share and turn right then and write a podcast draft. I often get a phrase that interests me and I go off to explore in writing. I can do that because my time is flexible and I am responsive to my inner voice.

Notice your energy flow. When do you want to be active?  What do you want in your day? When do you need to rev up your energy? What do you want to make more room to do?  Having a short to-do list allows me creative flexibility in what I do and when I do it.

Being organising your time by noticing your energy levels.  Play with that until you find what suits you and your energy flow. Keep your schedule flexible!

A DEEPER SONG

“Work is love made visible. And if you cannot work with love but only with distaste, it is better that you should leave your work and sit at the gate of the temple and take alms of those who work with joy.” – Kahlil Gibran.
