Cycles Bring New Growth
A Deeper Song Awareness
The Creative in me honors the Creative in you!
Cycles are not just circles, they are also spirals. So every time you return to what feels like the same place you were in the last time you were around that circle, you are actually in a higher place in that cycle. You have learned more, you’ve explored more, and circumstances have changed. So even though you feel like you are in the same place in the cycle, you are not. And we must learn to discern the subtle changes that are inviting us to move forward.
Deng Ming-Dao says, “The idea of a cycle means every point is important. Priorities must be maintained in relation to the center and movement is essential.”
The center. The reason for the cycle. Where are we in relation to the center? We may be closer to it. We may as far away from the center as the cycle goes. That will affect our viewpoint and our choices,
I might have a cycle of health that has many cycles within it – rest, food, gentle movement, rapid movement. I must pay attention to my relationship to the center.
My spiritual cycle has facets. Flutes, tuning forks, meditation, writing to understand, shamanic journeys. All are separate cycles within the cycle of spiritual expansion. I must keep my eye on the center which holds the core purpose of all that activity.
Cycle brings more wisdom, more experience, and deepened understanding. When we return to what feels like the same starting place in the cycle, we are actually at a higher level. Just as when I go to bed at night. The steps are the same but I am in a different place than I was the night before and the night before that. The sleep that lies ahead of me builds on the previous cycles and brings with it a whole new level of possibilities.
Cycles can be large and small and they can be intertwined. Like the cycles of a season, or the cycles of a year, or the cycles of a day.
It is important to understand that as you move through these constant cycles, you will return to what feels like a familiar spot. However, you are also in a higher, more advanced place in the cycle. You have learned new things through your experiences. Your awareness and your needs and your purposes may have changed. Since we are constantly moving in spirals, there is constant change to be aware of and to consider as we make our new choices.
There are cycles of healing. Cycles of creativity. Cycles of understanding. Cycles of change. Cycles of growth. Cycles constantly offer us a new view.
As you move to a new place in your cycle, go within to feel what has changed and what new choices and awareness have appeared that will help you bring forth the desired result.
Each place in the cycle holds a new set of tools and awareness with which to make your next choice. Give thought to what you have learned and what you have accomplished and make a new choice based on your continually deepening awareness.
DEEPER SONG AFFIRMATION
I build on my cycles of growth and understanding and make aligned choices that move me forward.
DEEPER SONG PROCESS
- Choose one cycle you know you are in. It can be a work cycle or a play cycle or a learning cycle. Notice where you are. Perhaps make a few notes.
- Choose a period of time – a day, a week, a month, and periodically return to the notes you took and see what has changed, how you have changed, what you have learned, and how you now do things differently. There are constant lessons in the moment of cycles.

Listen for Your Future
A Deeper Song Adventure
I feel it forming. I am aware of change taking place but it is not yet clear. It is a feeling, a knowing actually. And so I wait. Patiently. Observing, considering, evaluating, imagining. Letting it make itself known to me.
This is a time of evolution and my role is to observe and consider before I act.
Change cannot be hurried. Change gradually makes itself known as it organically unfolds. One must be patient and observant and let change show itself in its own rhythm.
In this episode we explore how to
Listen for Your future
To Sing a Deeper Song Consider:
Leadership, Introspection and Intuition
One of the first animal spirits I saw as I first began to journey was a brown bear. Her face looking out of the bushes at me and that’s the closest she came. She didn’t show up again for a long time. A few years later in my wildlife calendar, there was a picture of a brown bear whose challenging gaze said to me- “Get to it!” I saved that picture. Bear has not shown up for me as a major guide until recently, in an odd way. Over time I seem to have collected three small stone beers. I gathered them together and looked up what bear meant as a spirit guide. The major qualities are introspection, leadership, and intuition. What an awesome trio of qualities to have in you own life.
The largest of my three small stone bears is citrine and I call her “Leadership” because she is capable of leading the way. I lead by example. I lead by learning and sharing what I learn.
The middle-sized jade bear I call “Introspection”. How else do you know where to go? Thoughtful contemplation brings clarity.
The smallest amber bear I call “Intuition”. We need to learn to trust our inner urges, our unexpected knowing.
These three bears sit on my desk to remind me of some of the roles I take.
What a wonderful way to look at your own life expression – a leader who uses introspection to explore the possibilities and accesses intuition to guide the way.
Does Struggle Help You Clarify?
Astro Butterfly said: “If at times you feel at odds with society, keep in mind that any struggle, any conflict is an opportunity to understand yourself, and your place in the world better.”
We get to constantly reexamine our beliefs and our choices. We get to modify them. We get to make new choices depending on where we have grown, what path we have taken and where we find ourselves. What is calling you? What does it mean you are to do next?
The Power of Pruning
In the weeks since the Weeping Birch outside my window was trimmed so severely, I’ve been noticing what has changed because of the pruning. And I wanted to explore how to apply pruning to my life.
Pruning actually makes the plant stronger. So those branches that were trimmed off are now standing taller because they’re not so weighted down. It has to be better for them to stand taller. The grass growing below the tree has more sunlight now so it can grow more easily. That’s a good thing. Pruning actually opens up space for stronger growth.
I have a wonderful full view of the sky now and the clouds and the sunset. There is more light coming into my home and I can see more clearly. What has become overgrown in your life? What is choking off new growth? What will you prune? And when you prune, what will you discover?
Rethink and Re-choose Your Priorities
There are obvious times, like a major change in your life, in which you have to rethink your options and your priorities. Like starting a new job. Or the last child going off to school. Or you take a new job. These are dramatic changes. And they offer a perfect opportunity to rethink and reprioritize and re-choose. My friend whose son has recently moved out gets to rethink what she wants to eat and when. She gets to evolve the kind of schedule she wants to keep now that she is on her own. She has space and time to decide what she wants to do and when she wants to do it. She gets to find her own rhythm. She can even rearrange her home to best suit her needs. This new repositioning of circumstances becomes a time for inner listening. For deciding what really calls to you at this moment in time. What will pull you forward? What will support your next steps? And even sitting there, deciding where you want to go next and what you want this next phase of your life to look like. Each day is a choice. Each day unfolds in its own rhythm with its own gifts and unexpected offerings. Be present in your day. Be present with your thoughts. Be present with your feelings. Listen to the inner guidance of the universe. Notice the unexpected opportunities that show up. Live your day with awareness and conscious choices.
Rethink and re-choose your priorities often and keep the flow going.
Dependability and Structure
I drew the Oracle card “dependability” and didn’t know what to do with it. It actually raised the question “does structure block you in?” Yes, a structure is a foundation to build on, yes structure holds everything together. But the structure can also stop you from expanding. I don’t exactly know what to do with that awareness. As I thought about it I decided I want my structure to be flexible. Did you know that skyscrapers are built so they can move in the wind? The whole building is built so it can move a little bit. So how can I have flexibility in my structure and have that structure be dependable?
The image of water comes up. Water makes change one grain of sand at a time or it can also overflow the banks and make huge changes for many miles. Water is dependable only in that it moves in cycles, but its form and frequency, and intensity are subject to change. I don’t have an answer here. I’m just wondering how structure limits our flexibility.
Does the structure you have built for your life box you in?
===DEEPEN YOUR SPIRITUAL PRACTICE===
Intentional Humming for Healing
It is very healing to sit and direct your intentional vibration by way of a hum focused on parts of your body. It seems to require different pitches but you can definitely direct a vibrational hum to different areas. Try it. Close your eyes. Choose a place in your body to send an intentional healing vibration and began to hum. Change the pitch until you feel that healing wholing vibration resonate where you want it.
I drew the Oracle card “Unity” and didn’t know what to do with it. I see my role as helping others recognize themselves as cosmic consciousness and move into that vibration as an expression of their life. They make a conscious choice to take a different path, a higher path. And that leaves people behind who cannot, will not, or do not want to experience that cosmic inclusiveness. That choice separates us. That does not unify us. And therein is my problem.
Here’s what I figured out. Those of us who can are to wrap the world in a deepening cloud of purifying vibration, lifting the hearts of those who can see it and inviting those who see and feel that vibration to raise their own awareness into a deeper connection with all of nature, all of the world. So we each work on our own consciousness, others see it and recognize it in themselves and make a choice to join us. We are Circle of Light Beings and we play our individual harps to bring awareness to the world of what is possible. We come from this place of natural wholeness and organic universality.
===MY DEEPER SONG ADVENTURES ===
Tuning Forks for Sound Healing
Dr. John Beaulieu, ND, PhD was the first to use tuning forks for sound healing and reading higher states of consciousness. He says all you need to start is a C and G fork to work on your vibrational level and the 128 weighted turning fork to place directly on your body. I have the rubber disk to tap them on. He recommended one minute in the morning and one minute in the afternoon. If you wondered where to begin with tuning forks for sound healing, this is it. Here are the links:
Biosonic Body Tuners – “C256 & G384”$59.95
Tuner – “Otto 128” (Weighted) (in green bag)$59.95
Tuning Fork Activator – “7 Pointed Star”$14.95

===OUR EVOLVING FUTURE===
The Diverging Paths
This is a time of dramatic choices. This is a period of examining your core beliefs to make certain they are inclusive. Then standing up for them. We are on a path that asks us to leave things behind. Including people. Including ideas that no longer serve, or have been replaced by new methods and ways to do things.
Those of us who are aware that we have a powerful choice to make, do so with thoughtful awareness and contemplation.
Step on your new path. Follow it. Go adventuring down some side roads until you find the path that works for you. Look for the new people that are going in the same direction you are. And leave the others behind. Our paths are separating. Take the high road.
=== DEEPER SONG ORACLE MESSAGE===
“Consistency” is the oracle card I drew for us to consider. It means steadiness, evenness, equilibrium. How is your life balanced? How are you managing all the change? How are you establishing a pattern of consistency in your life?
Re-examine and rethink your spiritual practice. Try new things. Put others aside that no longer resonate.
Look at how you spend your time. Are your choices moving you consistently in the direction you want to go
Consistency means fluid movement. How are you doing?
Knowing When You Need Help
There are some things that are getting harder for me to do and it is time to get help. That’s hard for a self-sufficient, independent woman to do. But the reality check says I have to either get stronger or get help. I will do both.
What is changing in your life that you need to adjust to or accommodate? Make creative changes and choices as you move in a slightly new direction.
===SING A DEEPER SONG ===
Barrier or Opportunity
It could be a barrier or an opportunity. My choice.
It could be a barrier or an opportunity. My choice was to see it as both – a barrier to move around and an opportunity to find a new path.
It could be a barrier or an opportunity. My choice was to see it as both a barrier to move around and an opportunity to find a new path. And it led me on a fine adventure….!
