How to Transform Energy Before You Release It
Adventures in the Unseen World
Energy cannot be destroyed, it can only be repurposed. So it makes great sense that before you release energy that is blocking you, you must take steps to convert it into a form of energy that will be useful elsewhere. What?! How?
Begin from where you are
I only have one example to share from my own life so far since this is a relatively new idea for me. I was doing a ceremony to release a blockage, which in my case was my reluctance to exercise (I’m 87 and was never a fan of exercise when I was younger). Along with this was a reluctance to take better care of my home. Was that laziness? Or that it’s a bit harder? Or simply that I don’t care? How can I release what I cannot identify as the cause of the problem?
Actually, I don’t have to know. I can use the phrase “I release what no longer serves me.” Or “I relate what is keeping me from moving forward.”
However, that doesn’t address the idea of transforming the energy into something useful before sending it on its way.
Change the energy into a positive form before you release it!
Before we release energy we no longer want, we want to change that energy into a form that can be useful to someone else!!!!!
How do you do that? I went exploring.
How can the energy of anger become useful?
My mind immediately went to the energy of anger – not necessary mine at this time but anger is often at the root of a lot of things one wants to release. Maybe, for me, it was not so much anger as that I was a bit disgusted with myself or disappointed in myself for not being more pro-active in the nurturing of my body suit and my home.
Anger is a very powerful energy. So if I have any part of that directed toward myself for not doing a better job of self-care, that is very, very harmful to me. How can I turn my anger into a positive energy for use elsewhere?
Anger has a lot of power. It causes people to rise up to protect themselves. It makes people stand up for others. I could release my anger after I transformed it into a motivating fuel for someone else to take positive actions in their lives. See it as an energy to encourage people to finally take steps that benefit them.
How can the energy of self-doubt become useful?
But let’s keep going. Although I say I don’t believe that aging means deterioration, I live in a Senior Center and all I see is deterioration – and death. I have a huge job to do to change this energy of the idea that I cannot transform my body into a stronger more flexible vehicle. Can it be done? Do I have the will power to do it? Does it take will power or simply a shift in the focus of my energy?
I need to change my thoughts of self-doubt into my own cheering section of encouragement.
I can look for proof that aging can be a strong, healthy process. I can begin to focus on older people who are living in strong body suits in order to know, believe and trust that it is attainable. I can transform that belief around aging into a more positive outlook and prepare to release it or keep some of that new positive outlook for myself.
What do I want to make room for?
My goal in releasing this energy is to make me more willing to do the self-care I… want? deserve? need? Look at the reason you want to release the energy to see what you desire to change.
Curiosity alone is transformative
Think about that. Curiosity alone is transformative. The very fact that I stopped to even consider how to transform whatever is beneath what I want to change is transformative. Each time I wrote a new draft of this post it was transformative because I had to figure out what the concept meant for me and how to explain it to you. Be curious. Figure out what the transformed energy will look and feel like. Curiosity alone is transformative. You never know what you will learn and where you will end up.
How can the energy of complacency become useful?
If I were a driven, fast-moving, participant in life, I would welcome a little complacency. But what I want to create is a joy in doing exercise that strengthens my body, joy in caring for my home.
I want to let go of whatever is keeping me from those positive experiences. And that leaves me still not even knowing exactly what I want to release. I could only begin.
For my releasing ceremony, I:
- Transform anger at my own complacency into a firmness of intention to make a positive change.
- Transform self-doubt that I can change my body into a belief in the power of one positive step at a time.
- Transform all I have been taught or seem to see around me about aging into the opportunity to begin where I am to at least slow down the aging process and perhaps even be an inspirational example to others.
