You have resources you haven’t tapped yet, because you don’t even see them as assets. There are subtle places to look for all the powerful support you already have going for you.
The gift of who you are
You are unique, just like everyone else. That makes your version of whatever you undertake like no others. Your very persona is an asset.
The power of what you know
You’ve spent your lifetime learning stuff. You have followed your passion. You have explored your gifts. You have assembled a unique viewpoint for everything you do. Start sharing it.
You can harvest what you know at any time. It can take any form – a quiet conversation, a single blog post, a word of encouragement. The more passionately you share the more like-minded people you will attract.
The possibility of what you can learn
There may be a difference between what you can learn and what you want to learn. Just notice that. I have an aptitude for writing, for math, not so much. Be realistic when you set out to learn but preserver until you understand what you set out to learn.
The power of your gifts
Your kindness, your compassion, your laughter, your ability to organize, your way with people, the way you express yourself – are all gifts. One or two gifts will stand out when you look for them. I thought my gift was writing but it actually is my ability to see the overview and explain it to others.
The support of your tribe
When you place yourself with the right tribe, they are a huge asset. They nurture, support and inspire you. You deserve to be in a tribe that is aligned with your values and your passion. Go find them.
The power of your unique qualities
Your determination and perseverance will take you where you want to go. A good ol’ get-the-job-done attitude is an asset. A stick-with-it approach is valuable. The ability to see it from many viewpoints is a gift.
The opportunities that come from the choices you make
What you do with what you’ve got is how you make a difference. When you follow your passion with all your heart, you make a difference. When you use your unique gift to help others you will have great impact. What choices are you making around the gifts and opportunities that surround you?
Take some time to look at the resources and gifts and assets around you. Some will come from you. Some will come from those you keep around you. What do you have going for you?
Making a list of assets is like giving yourself a big hug. Go hug yourself…!
