Honor Your Role
Living Our Deeper Song
The Creative in me honors the Creative in you!
It’s important to not only understand your role but to honor it and be content with it. For instance, I’m studying a lot of Qigong and I watch these teachers teach the fundamentals over and over and over as they reach out to more and more people. I can’t do that, I can’t repeat the fundamentals. I’m an explorer and I will teach you as long as I am learning but once I own it, I move on. That’s very important to know so I don’t beat myself up for not teaching fundamentals. I’m an explorer. And I stay with a topic until I learn what I need to know in order to move forward.
Do not compare yourself with anyone else because you are unique. Your role is unique. Your place of service is unique. And your role changes throughout your life as your foundation expands. I can look back and see how my roles changed because I was learning and building on what I knew. My choices and the experiences they brought me created future choices and designed my ever-changing path. I am very grateful for all those who are willing to teach foundational classes in any topic. They reach out and bring in more people and introduce them to a new path. I’m more like a butterfly moving from topic to topic exploring and savoring and moving on to take my version of the message to the next flower. Honor your role. It is as it should be.
DEEPER SONG AFFIRMATION
I examine my way of serving and honor it as being perfect for me and for those I serve.
DEEPER SONG PROCESS
- See where you are on the scale of teaching and learning. Do you love to teach people the foundational core concepts? Or do you have a strong need to go exploring on your own and share what you find in the moment? Both are valid. Honor what you discover.
Identify Your Consciousness Group
When we have a passion, when we have a special interest, we gravitate toward people with similar interests. Whether we realize it or not, we have consciousness groups that we continually interact with. It may be one person. It may be a group of people. But we are drawn to like-minded individuals walking a similar path and exploring related options.
Pause and notice where you are. Who are you sharing your ideas with? Who are you listening to? Who are you learning from? What are you learning?
Periodically pause to look at the pattern of your path. Make certain you are on a path of your choosing. Make certain you are not lost on some detour. Rise above your life and look for what’s calling to you. What has changed and what new ideas and possibilities resonate now and how will you explore them and examine them and judge them to be or not to be for you? Be open to new ideas. When you take time to examine them, be aware of your conscious overall objective. Perhaps you redefine your direction. Perhaps you deepen your direction. Always take time to see the overview and any changes that are calling to you.
Who is in your consciousness group? Who are you hanging out with? Where are you getting your information? Are you on the right path?
A Zen Approach to Unfolding
The Zen approach to unfolding is to simply allow things to unfold in their own organic time. You observe. You make choices. You explore the results of that choice. But you don’t push it, you don’t rush it. You stay with the process of unfolding.
A friend of mine is building a new house. She said she’s taking a very Zen approach to how it is unfolding, as in when the plans are ready, when the prices of supplies come down, when whatever steps are to be taken can be taken. She’s just allowing it to happen. I’m not sure I can do that but I think it’s going to be a lot easier for her to move forward from that Zen approach to unfolding since there are so many pieces that need to come together.
What are you pushing? What are you shoving into place? What can you simply allow to happen? Take a Zen approach and simply allow your life to unfold.
The Master allows things to happen.
She shapes events as they come.
She steps out of the way and
lets the Tao speak for itself.
-Tao Te Ching, Stephen
First you have to notice that you’ve gotten off course and then you have to stop and press the reset button.
Change can be sneaky. It can be a subtle slide into negativity or a slightly off kilter direction that sends you down the wrong path. First you notice it and then you rethink your overall objective and make new choices. Press the reset button as often as needed during your day.
Notice Small Changes
If you saw me in person you would think nothing has changed for the better. But there is constant change going on in my self-healing process. Notice the small changes. Notice what you are doing that is helping. Do more of that. Notice what you were doing that is not helping. Do less of that. Explore and experiment to find the solutions you need.
My focus is to find things that strengthen my body. I’m always watching for the small nudges the universe gives me that sends me off to explore new directions. I may or may not go very far down the path but at least go take a look. Notice small changes and explore their potential.
Repurpose Your Gifts
What are the major gifts you have cultivated in your lifetime? My top gift is that of being able to see the overview. That is leading me on many adventures. I am not a detail person. Another gift is my wonderful mind that creates conscious change out of an incident or circumstance. And I’m a communicator. I have a strong need to share what I learn. I pretty much build what I do around those three gifts.
This is a good time, in this changing world, to look to see how you can repurpose your gifts. See how you’ve been using them and then go exploring to see how you might expand their use and change their impact.
I follow my personal interests. For instance, right now I’m into self-healing. So I keep sharing what I’m discovering on that journey. I’m also carefully watching what I believe I deserve and what I believe is possible. And I am adjusting those beliefs and expectations to create a more positive outcome.
I might be able to undertake larger projects using my gifts differently. I could focus my gifts in a different direction considering the changing world. That might be a good idea. I could look at some neglected gifts and bring those out to play. I am composing new songs for my spiritual work, but that’s for me. I’m behind in reading several books that I really would like to read. Look closely at the gifts you’ve been given and the gifts you enjoy using and see how you can repurpose them in this rapidly changing world to make an even greater impact and create a greater change.
===DEEPEN YOUR SPIRITUAL PRACTICE===
Make Up Songs
A long time ago I made up songs to sing to the directions to begin my daily spiritual practice. I did that by drumming and singing whatever showed up. Ultimately I had songs that I liked. I have some new altar pieces and I’m in the process of making up songs for them. I have a small Bodhran drum (Irish Drum) and I let it set the tone for whatever song I’ve decided to compose.
Do you have music in your spiritual practice? It’s fun to make up your own songs for your spiritual journey.
===HOW TO BE A STRONG CONTRIBUTING MEMBER OF THE DIVERSE CIRCLE OF LIGHT BEINGS===
Little Helper or Big Helper
I have two kinds of helpers in my life and each are vitally important. And I realized that we play different types of helping roles with different people. For instance, my daughter will help with the big things, like getting to the doctor or helping me clear areas of my home. And then there are the wonderful little helpers. The ones that step in and do one little thing you were having a hard time with that makes such a big difference. I have Shelley every week in some form or another. I pay her, but she puts stuff away that I can’t reach or helps plug in a plug I can’t get to as well as helps me keep my home clean. But I wish I had made a friend here that I could easily ask to step in and help me pick something up off the floor, as an example. Floors are out of reach for me now. I did ask a neighbor to come in and turn on my air conditioning which I have never learned to do. She was very gracious about it. But I have not established a relationship in which I exchange small helping moves with her. But you don’t have to give back to the person you received from. It isn’t really feasible. You get to keep giving forward in some form that you can manage. And trust that giving goes round and round and round and it’s part of what will be returned to you. Keep the circle of giving going. Reach out and support a friend and keep passing it forward.

Adventures in Psychometry
I’ve been talking to rocks for 50 years. It began in New York City when my friend Debbie told me to put a crystal in my left hand and see what shows up. I got feelings in parts of my body and as I learned to interpret then. I learned to talk to crystals. It’s called psychometry.
I talk to my crystals every day. I will pick one up and find it immediately resonates with my eyes while another speaks to my heart. Trust the energy and the images you get. Hold the rock in your left hand and trust what you feel.
Use muscle testing to find out what food you should eat next or what actions you should or should not take. The first time I saw muscle testing was in New York City when a friend held out one arm and said push down and when I did, it was very sturdy. Then he put a packet of sugar in his other hand and told me to push down again and his arm collapsed. It was a sign that sugar was not what he needed.
I started to write that I have not ever talked to fabric, but I am currently keeping a shawl around my shoulders for warmth but also for affection. It hugs me. And I didn’t realize that I was talking to fabric until I wrote this. Go exploring. Talk to a plant. See where it wants to be in your house, or if it wants food or water. Tune in to your pets. Trust the images you get when you ask to speak to them. Psychometry – the messages from what we think of as inanimate objects. Go exploring.
===OUR EVOLVING FUTURE===
We Create Our Future in the Now
My future is created by what I do today, which means in this moment there is a very large responsibility to make positive choices that create and manifest what I want. Some of it is obvious. One of my arms is a bit sore from playing too much spider solitaire. I get to stop doing that and do something else. My hips are better because I’m sitting in a different chair. It’s good to know what’s working so you can do more of that. What’s not working? What needs to change? Do that. We create our future in the now. What are you creating?

Do You Leave Room For Change?
In the natural flow of our own unfolding life, we need to leave room for change in both ourselves and those around us. That means we get to question our expectations of ourselves and others. That means we get to examine our choices to make certain that they’re taking us in the direction that we now want to go.
One of the things that I have learned over the years of being single for most of it is that because I am not in a relationship, I have room to change as I desire. As I watch people who are in relationships, I see a lot of compromise is necessary. There’s a lot of give-and-take that’s necessary in growing yourself and balancing a relationship. It’s about honoring what you need but it’s also about honoring what the other person needs too. When you’re alone you don’t have to compromise. And at the same time, you are alone and totally responsible for yourself. It’s a trade-off.
If you take time to examine your life and pay attention to the nudges and bops on the head from the universe, you will see that you were being asked to change. You have a choice. You can choose to change or not change. You can choose how much to change. You can choose what to change. We are always changing. And hopefully it’s in a direction of positive growth and expanded awareness. Examine your path. Examine your choices. And examine what you ask of your friends and relationships. Adjust for the highest good of all. Leave room for lots of creative change. It will lead you down a positive path.

Room to Change
My Voice Within says “get ready to change”. To where and how I have no idea.
My Voice Within says “get ready to change”. To where and how I have no idea. I sit in silent contemplation and feel and examine the possibilities.
My Voice Within says “get ready to change”. To where and how I have no idea. I sit in silent contemplation and feel and examine the possibilities. From this place of self-awareness I make my choice and choose my path. It takes me in the right direction – for now.
