New Consciousness – New State of Being

May 22, 2020 By Cara Lumen

New Consciousness – New State of Being

A New Consciousness Exploration

There is change. There is turmoil in change.  There is discovery in change.  There is re-evaluation n change.  There is choice in change.  There is patience involved with change.

Most of all, change allows us to reach a new state of consciousness, a new state of being.  And that is what many of us want.

“Be the change that you wish to see in the world,” is a quote attributed to Mahatma Gandhi.

In looking it up I found that the closest verifiable remark we have from Gandhi is this:

“If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. … We need not wait to see what others do.”

Change is our personal responsibility

It is our responsibility to change ourselves in order to change our world. In order to manifest a new state of consciousness, we have to manifest change within ourselves, here in our body suit expression. That means we have to examine and question our beliefs, our attitudes, our understanding, and our actions.

We are developing a New State of Consciousness

What does“a new site of consciousness” mean to you? That’s what some of us are building. How do we do that?  Who is doing that?  How do we find and recognize each other?  And most of all, what will the new state of consensus look like?  And feel like?

My personal primary goal is to continue to raise my vibration –  Whatever the looks like and feels like and however I learn to do that. So I study and go where I am led. Then I turn and share with others what I discover.

There are others on this same path. We may call ourselves transformational thinkers, or light-workers or Transcendent Leaders,  but there are many of us and we do find each other.

“If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change.”

As I raise my vibration it is going to resonate with others who are raising their vibration and we may even support each other in our journey.

Raise your vibration and see how your life changes.

We are developing a new State of Being

As I work on raising my vibration, on chaining myself,  I have a different effect on the world around me.  I walk the earth with a more conscious footstep. I interact with others with a deeper awareness of our core connection. I recognize our similarities.

And that changes the response of the world around me.

“As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him.”

We are developing an expanded vibration

Centered, aware, with  an ever-rising vibration –  that’s how I want to walk the earth now.  I want to be more mindful of nature, my place in nature, the gifts of nature, my interactions with nature, my oneness with the vibration of all.

The New Consciousness, the new state of Being is already here.

When I raise my gaze, I see the new path, the new horizon.  I make a choice and move forward.

When I approach someone in a high vibration I move within so we are talking heart to heart.  When I work, I put my whole self into what I am doing.  Gibran says, “Work is love made viable.”  I make my love more visible.

How do we find this new community?

Look at what others are doing and see if it challenges you to raise your vibration.  Learn from others who are also exploring a similar path and choose what calls to you.  Offer to share what you know with others.  Let our raised vibrations bring us together.

Cultivating a New State of Consciousness will create a New State of Being

How are you going to begin? How are you doing to continue?

How Cycles Sneak Up On You

How Cycles Sneak Up On You
An Inner-world Exploration

Look at your life.  Are you happy or would you like things to be different?

You can’t make a change unless you know change is needed

The sneaky thing is that life moves in cycles – small increments that you barely notice.  You gradually find yourself in a different position than you thought you were going and you don’t even know exactly how you got there. That’s why it’s important to take regular well-being checks – on all levels – emotional, spiritual and physical.  Well-being – how well is your “being?“

Have You Raised Your Sails?

April 17, 2018 By Cara Lumen

Have You Raised Your Sails?

“The winds of grace are always blowing, but we must raise our sails.”
– Sri Ramakrishna.

It’s so simple. Just raise your sails. Catch the winds of change.  Accept the opportunities and lessons that cross your path. Walk through the doors that open. Go exploring. Let the new path expand your awareness of the myriad of possibilities that await.

Look around. Feel.  What is calling to you?  What tugs at your heart?  Learn to interpret the messages of your intuition.

Follow them and lift your sails.

When Do You Know You are Ready?

December 27, 2017 By Cara Lumen

The truth is, you’re never “ready”; you just simply have to start.  It doesn’t make any difference how good it is, or how successful it becomes, what you’ll have learned in the doing of it is immeasurable.

My friend thinks she’s not ready.  She doesn’t know enough, she’s not prepared enough.  How/where does she get the self-confidence if she doesn’t try to do it?

You won’t know whether you can or you can’t until you do it and find out how much you know and how much you still have to learn.

Life is like that.

Take the first step.

Try one thing after another.

Get better each time.

Clarify by explaining what you do to others

One of the most clarifying and sometimes difficult ways I begin to “own” something is to find the simplest words that’ll let me explain it to others who have no experience with what I’m talking about.  A true “beginner’s mind.”  Look for ordinary words that create a one-line introduction.

I now explain my own work by saying, “I help you recognize the messages from your inner world. I use shamanic journeying, which is the earliest form of meditation. It’s a powerful form of healing and guidance.”

But it took me a long time to get it all down to those few words.  Find a simple, yet core explanation for what you do for others. You’ll hugely clarify your own purpose in the process.

How do you explain what you do in the simplest of terms, for a beginner’s mind?

What does your work do for others?

The simplest answer is the best one.  And that simple answer explains exactly what your work will do for others.  One step at a time.  One process at a time.  For instance, shamanism lets you explore the 95% of your world that’s invisible and brings back answers that help you in your human experience.

How do you absorb the work you have chosen to do?

We absorb by reviewing the material, applying it to our own lives and then explaining it to others.

I take shamanic journeys for myself.  I journey for family and friends. I journey for the well being of the world (that’s particularly empowering!). I reread the material from the extensive courses I’ve taken and the many books I’ve read on the topic – but most of all I practice.  I just do it. I make it my own.  I will learn to conduct ceremonies, for me alone in the beginning, in order to decide for myself how I want to do it.

Begin by doing.

Know what your role is

As I deepen my practice of shamanism, I look for guidance regarding my role.  I’ve been an explorer and map maker for a long time now, and that’ll continue. I am not to teach shamanism; I may only occasionally journey for others. But I do know that I’m to continue to explore and share what I find with others.  I am the inspirer and motivator for others to go learn this for themselves if it calls to them. But I am not the teacher of the details.

Know what your role is.

It was very empowering for me to realize my specific role.  Just as I absorbed Taoism into my life and my philosophical writing, so will I absorb shamanism.  My core purpose is the exploration of the inner planes and the sharing of what I discover there.

I’ll never be “ready” to share that.  I simply share what I figure out and move on.

You are ahead of someone

If you’ve read one book on a topic, you’re ahead of the person who hasn’t.  If you’ve added one practice to your life, you’re ahead of the person who hasn’t.  So you always have something to share, with someone, in some manner.

What’s your unique gift to our world and how are you sharing it?

You are ready you know.  Just begin.

Choices That Create Your Future

July 20, 2017 By Cara Lumen

planet - future

When you live a simple, unfolding life, you don’t think much about the future.  You let it evolve, show up, become. So all you can really do, when making a choice, is to do what’s best for you right now, in this moment. Don’t make choices based on a future that hasn’t yet emerged.

Trust the Great Mystery

When an unexpected opportunity shows up, take a close look at it. It may be the Universe showing you an option that you’ve not yet considered. You don’t have to take it, but it would be wise to explore it. It may show up again as a similar choice and you will have thought about it and understood your response to it.

It’s our human mind that makes us think there’s a plan that we must follow. But all that exists is this moment, this moment in which we must choose and take the next step. It’s an opportunity to simply let life unfold.

You can’t choose for the future

It often seems there are choices upon choices. They fill our lives. Even if we have a plan, we’ll undoubtedly end up someplace else.

The wise step is to choose consciously in the moment. How does this choice reward you now? What can you learn from it? What new detours can you make?

When you look at each moment, each choice, as an adventure, life gets very exciting.

Where are you headed?

As a person who lets her life unfold, I only have a fundamental understanding of where I’m headed. I know it’s focused on personal spiritual exploration but I don’t know anything more specific about it than that. I’ve been on this exploration all of my life.

Make certain your small choices are aligned

I constantly make choices to learn something new. But even when it’s to learn something technical, the result is to be able to share what I discover on a new platform.

It’s great to go exploring, to see what some new format or tool can do to further your general direction. But do work toward defining your general purpose and keep heading in that direction.

Increasing your skill expands your options.

What’s your overarching purpose?

I’ve been on some sort of spiritual exploration all my life. Sometimes I invested years exploring a certain spiritual approach. That’s how deeply I went exploring. Fourteen years getting a diverse holistic training in New York City, including Reiki Master Teacher Fourth Degree and a yoga teachers training, five focused years becoming a licensed practitioner in the Center for Spiritual Living, a deep five-year (or more) dive into Taoism, and now an ongoing purposeful exploration of Shamanism.

They are all related. The path is all spiritual exploration, the choices were simply in-depth explorations into a philosophy that called to me.

What is your over-arching purpose?

Identify and follow your core calling

My goal was never to become a writer – but I am one. My goal was never to become a teacher – but I am one. My goal has always been my need to know and understand, for myself. But I have a powerful urge to share what I figure out.

Know your underlying calling and align your choices with that.

You can learn from everything

Even if you feel you’ve gone astray, you’re learning. You’re learning what you do not like, what does not suit you, what you are not called to do. That’s a helpful exploration.

You can even learn when you seem to be blocked. You learn patience. You learn inward contemplation to search for what you need to change within you so that you can move forward.

Check in with yourself

Do the inner work necessary to keep yourself on track. Notice where you are. Feel what is aligned and do more of that. Release the rest. Explore and see what feels aligned. Choose what does. Let your inner voice guide you and trust that it helps you make choices that are aligned with your future service
