The Role of the Element of Earth in Our New Consciousness

May 1, 2020 By Cara Lumen

The Role of the Element of Earth in Our New Consciousness

A New Consciousness Exploration

(Form a Series of Shamanic Journeys to Explore the New Consciousness)

I have been told the Five Elements will guide us to the New Consciousness. I went exploring.

The lessons we are to learn in the New Consciousness come from the elements.  The Element of Earth is to teach us to live more deeply and willingly in the natural cycles we have come to know through nature.

The lesson, the role the Element of Earth will have in the New Consciousness is cycles

Cycles. The constant movement of change. Staying flexible within the flow of energy.  The New Consciousness will not be solid – it will be an ongoing movement. It will not be birth and death, it will be waxing and waning but always existing. There is constant change.

The lesson of the Element of Earth is to let go and flow with the ever-present, ongoing change

Our lessons from the Element of  Earth in the New Consciousness is to be free-flowing ad adaptable with change.

In our body suits we are aware of birth and death. The Earth in the New Consciousness will be about ongoing change and that change will be in ever-increasing crescendos, always building on what was present the last time around that cycle. We are to evaluate what we find, accept what we want and reject what is no longer wanted or needed.

Choice is a huge part of the gift of Earth.  We choose to care for the Earth or we don’t.  We choose not to harm animals or we do. In the New Consciousness, we are more aware of our ability to choose and how we use that gift.

Communication will be aided by shape-shifting

Energy will take shape in metaphors in order to communicate and soon you will become, more attuned to your inner vision and thought.

Earth holds great wisdom

The wisdom of the rocks, the wisdom of the evolution of earth, the wisdom of the cycles are all part of Earth’s gifts. However, the New Consciousness is not limited by Earth, the planet.  It is new – a new reality of non-verbal, thought-communicating virtual beings who are still seeking but who have come far. We will bump into each other and have to pause and see what we need to learn from one another. Some of the circles will join together in bigger circles in order to have more impact.

Are cycles the only lesson from Earth?

In the New Consciousness we will learn to merge as we are more aware of ourselves as One Vibration.

Earth is constantly changing because the elements interact with it, so part of the lesson of then Element of Earth is to learn to interact with the other elements – with Air in particular. One needs to pull away from the cement of Earth as seen through body suit minds and look at her as a Keeper of Treasures and Insight.

Earth means boundlessness

In the New Consciousness, we are to shed the limitations and beliefs of our body suit and become more interdependent. More aware of our one, intertwined, co-mingled, powerful energy. Interdependence.

What do we need in the New Consciousness to survive?

Movement. Adaptability. The energy of the Element of Earth will provide the magnetic field that moves things forward. Then it will all be up to you. Your choice of what to do with it.

In your body suit, Earth provides safety ad scurry and peace.  But in the New Consciousness, we will be a collective. And there needs to be mutual support among us.

The lesson of the Element of Earth is change

Constant change. Ongoing change.  Call it a cycle of progress or decay, it is change. Sometimes violent, more often gradual and in cycles.

Earth is also home for Fire and Air and Water and Space.  It is the container, the holder of the energy.

It is a container but that is not confining like the body suit.

Work with that and move onward.

How to Hold the Space for the New Vision to Emerge

January 31, 2017 By Cara Lumen

word commuinty

Those of us who want the world to be different have serious work to do. We have to hold a vision others cannot see. We have to believe in potentials others cannot even imagine. We’re energy workers. We’re spiritual explorers. We’re called to focus that new vision.

Overcome the limits of your Body Suit

We have to go beyond the limitations of our human minds. We have to do the deep work, the interconnected work, the “we-are-all-one” work. We begin our work individually and then join with other like-minded explorers and visionaries to add more power.

You know you want to change. You have a vague sense of the direction you want to go. The catch is we can only vision what we can think up. So we have to let go of our minds and move with our hearts, our feelings and our urges. We have to quieten our mind, still our expectations and simply hold the space for things to change.

Begin with yourself

Expand your personal spiritual practice. Create an altar, a shelf, a space upon which you place some reminders, some tools to help you deepen your spiritual experience. I have an altar I built in a Shamanism course. It’s includes some of my large collection of crystals and artifacts I found meaningful along my path.

Expand your spiritual practice. This is not a religious practice but a spiritual one. Make it your own. Gather in whatever calls to you regardless of its origin. Increase the time spent in contemplative practice, and consciously and frequently send focused energy to the well-being and healing of our world.

Expand your knowledge

To learn to connect more deeply with nature, I took two courses in Shamanism. And as I also wanted to connect more universally with like-minded people, I took a course in subtle group activism. There are a few like-minded friends with whom I have major conversations that inspire and motivate each of us.

Listen to the inner voice

I have opened myself up to a clearer interpretation of the voice within. I now am comfortable calling it channeling. I’m clear that there’s a deeper wisdom that comes through my writing than I seem to be aware of on the physical plane.

I’m often surprised by what I write. Is that my imagination? My knowing? My guides? Call it what you will, but there’s a knowing within you that will give you guidance and answers and direction. Listen to that inner voice and learn to interpret it. Follow your feeling and your intuition to your most powerful place of service.

Be open

In my inner work I often experience huge releasing yawns. Other times I experience deep sobs of recognition as I go exploring. Your own signals will emerge. Go with what resonates. Go with what calls to you. Be open to a sudden rush of recognition and follow that.

The world is changing and we are an integral element in that change. Do the work on yourself. Be receptive to the light of other consciousness changers and follow your heart. We can change the world. We are the world. We are all that is. Let’s evolve into a whole, inclusive, empathetic state of being.

How do You Put your Spiritual Insights to Work?

January 19, 2017 By Cara Lumen

seed sowing

What are you doing with the spiritual ideas and concepts that you’re attracted to? Do you just know that you agree with them or do you work to figure out how to add the ideas to your life?

What’s the practical application of the spiritual precepts you embrace?

One of my most conscious applications of a spiritual principle was the idea of allowing everything to unfold. I’ve been practicing that for three years and although I’m better at it now, there’s still a lot more work to do.

Mindfulness — what does the look like and feel like? How do you teach yourself to be mindful?

If you are to let your life flow like water, how do you do that? What does it feel like? What changes do you have to make to allow it to happen?

We need to find ways to consciously turn a spiritual precept into a practical application in our life. And that sometimes takes a bit of imagination.

What aspects of your belief system do you want to embrace more fully?

I want to become more attuned to the cycles of nature, to the messages and lessons of the natural world. I’m talking to a birch tree in m yard. I give my cat my full attention when he comes to hang out. I’m sending healing energy to our natural world. I stand outside and really listen to the sounds of nature. And I continue to teach myself to notice and accept the natural flow of the organic cycles that are my life.

Choose a spiritual connect that calls to you, and go exploring.

Understand your gifts

We each have been given special gifts and it’s our responsibility to offer them to the world. I recently met someone whose purpose was clearly to anchor light in the area in which she lived. She was alone. She had nothing much in common with her neighbors, but she knew she had to be there, and anchor the light.

Another friend is a messenger for nature. Her work is focused on plants and the ecological care of our planet.

Another friend spreads light as a healer, an explorer of subtle realms.

I’m an interpreter, a translator of the concepts that call to me. I am a spreader of awareness, a thought provoker, an explorer who skims the surface and leaves you to figure out the path on your own.

By the very nature of our gifts, there are many ways we are called into service.

However you are called to live your life, do it with consciousness

Figure out the practical application of the spiritual principles you follow. Be inventive, creative. Go exploring. If I want to understand the “nowhere that I came from”, where do I even begin?

Pick an aspect of your spiritual insights that appeals to you and consciously bring it into your life. Be creative. Be unique. Become conscious about how you apply your spiritual understanding.

The Emergence of Collective Individual Spirituality

January 3, 2017 By Cara Lumen

indiviual light

Spiritualism is engrained in the indigenous cultures. From their shamans to their tribal leaders to their tribal activities, they expressed their spiritual belief and understanding in everything they did. Over time, our spirituality became separated from our lives. We are not comfortable talking about our spiritual values, our understanding of our inner world, and the intimacy of our own spiritual path. If we are wise, we move into like-minded groups to have those personal conversations about our spirituality.

Some 50 years ago, when I first defined myself as a metaphysician, I could only mention it to people who were receptive, perhaps people who were exploring that path themselves. Receptivity has gradually improved but not everywhere…

What if we moved our spirituality, not our religion, back into the guiding light of our life. What would the world look like then?

We would all work for the highest good of all

That would mean looking for core values, identifying our common goals, being willing to compromise as we sought the highest good for all, showing tolerance of different opinions, and energetic conversation along with increasing mutual understanding and awareness.

We can do that, but it’ll take some thoughtful leaders and wise guidance. And it’ll take a willingness on the part of everyone with a concern to move off their position into a mutually beneficial one.

That’ll certainly take some practice

So what do we do today?

“Be the change you want to see in the world,” says Gandhi. Or as Rumi says, “Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.”

Here are some groups that might call to you as you take your spirituality out into our world.

Get To Know Your Inner Voice

November 3, 2016 By Cara Lumen

meditation cluds

We’re it. We’re all there is. The entire Universe is within us. All the wisdom, all the knowledge. It’s there, it’s at hand, ready to be heard. Everything we need to know is within us. We learn and we’re guided by the voice within.

How do we learn to hear it?

The Universe is Within

It’s an interesting idea that we contain the Universe within ourselves.

Rumi says:
“Everything in the Universe is within you.
Ask all from yourself”

That means we’re pretty much on our own. And yet we get guidance and signals and insights all the time. When we learn to hear them.

The signs we ignore

Our days are full of signs and signals. When we allow our days to unfold, all manner of exciting and unexpected opportunities show up. Learning to interpret our inner voice will help us make choices that are aligned with what we need and want in the moment.

How your inner voice talks to you

Your inner voice is different from your intuition. Your intuition is a hunch, a feeling. Your inner voice KNOWS. Your inner voice holds the values you have embraced, it holds your connection to All-That-IS, Tao, or whatever you call the unknown part of you. It’s always speaking to you. You just have to learn to listen.

Learn to listen to your inner voice in silence

When you sit in silent expectation, when you are willing to embrace your inner knowing, you will understand. You may hear a word, you may see an image, you may get an idea or clarity or see a connection you had missed. You may simply KNOW. But most of all there is a sense of serenity and peace, a feeling of being safe, cared for and loved. It’s your inner home, your place of safety and refuge. It welcomes you with open arms and holds you close to its heart.

Visit your inner voice often.

Learn to interpret what you hear

You’ll emerge from your time of silent contemplation with a new perspective, with new resolution, new determination and a new sense of peace and willingness. Let this new awareness slowly infiltrate your life. Feel your way into the great wonders that have unfolded within you.

Choose what to apply in your life

Your inner voice will show you many options. It’ll deepen your understanding and expectation of what’s possible. Notice it and let it simmer within you like a vapor rising to surround you with its wisdom.

Trust yourself to understand

You’ll interpret the messages from your inner voice in the way that’s most suited to the moment. It helps if you clear out your preconceived ideas and allow this wisp of knowing to simply surround you and hug you and be absorbed into your being.

Act from a place of knowing

Then do what you need to do in the moment. That’s all. Shape things as they show up. Don’t force them, or push them away. Simply take what feels right in the moment and let the rest move on. Shape what you keep into the size and shape that expands your choices, your next step, and move through the doors that have opened for you.

Don’t play small

Your inner voice is the knowledge of the Universe. It knows no bounds. When you are willing to push beyond your own boundaries, consider concepts you’d never thought about before. You can trust that you’ll never be given an opportunity you cannot do. Simply flow into your next choice, your next action, with the ease of rain falling to earth.

Your inner voice wants you to play big

You’ve been given many gifts. You’ve been given a passion and talents to develop that passion. Your inner voice has a BIG vision for you. Listen. Interpret. Act.
