The Cosmic Soup

June 29, 2017 By Cara Lumen

water drops

We are all one energy. There is no difference between us.  We are all the same.  But in human form it’s hard to remember that.

The nowhere that you came from

Rumi says, “Live in the nowhere that you came from even though you have an address here.”  I want to know more about this unseen world, this “nowhere that I came from.”

The Web of Life

One of the metaphors for the invisible world is the “web of life”.  The problem I have with that is that when I see myself as a strand in the web of life it makes me feel separate – a strand, a thread, a single, stand-apart expression. And with that image of a thread, I can see how the web of life could have some holes in it, like a worn piece of fabric. No, that metaphor doesn’t work for me.

The Cosmic Soup

The metaphor that resonates more deeply with me is “cosmic soup”.  If I’m part of the cosmic soup, then I can understand how my flavor (choices) will influence the whole, how our flavor will influence the whole.

One drop

Rumi says, “You are not a drop in the ocean, you are the entire ocean in a drop.”  Everything is within us.  We are within everything

What makes you feel One With All?

I work with phrases like the Great Mystery, All-That-Is, Great Nothingness. I talk about the Invisible Self. But words limit us.  Words are creations of our Body Suit mind held in captivity by our own human limitations.  We need to find a way to know ourselves as being in and of the “nowhere that we came from.”

The Unseen World

We know only 5% with our conscious mind.  That means 95% of what exists requires us to find new ways to explore, and feel, and interpret, and understand.  You imagination does that.  Your intuition does that too. Visioning can take you there, as can meditation and journeying.

Whatever form you choose, become more aware that you are purposefully seeking to understand the unknown, the unseen, the nowhere that you came from.

95%.  That’s a lot of territory to explore. What do you call it?  How will you absorb it?

How Much Bigger Can You Think?

December 17, 2009 By Cara Lumen

by Cara Lumen

I sat down to mind-map the next four years and couldn’t do it – I could get part way through this year but only very slightly into next. And forget any years after that. I had no idea what I wanted or what I could expect.

I wanted to think bigger but I only did a fair job of it. It was easy to write down the things I had already thought of to do this year.

Then I tried to see where some of those would take me next year, what new doors they would open up, what new people they would attract and I realized that I have to let it happen organically.

What I can do is be very aware.  Aware of the new ideas I have.  Aware of people who respond to me and might make a potential collaborative partner.  Aware of what new skill I have learned and how I might use it to make something new. Aware of changes in the world that affect my target audience.  And most of all to be aware of the signs and signals of new possibilities that come my way all the time.

The one trick to thinking bigger is to move your thoughts outside the perceived reality of the physical plane and the limitations we know here.  If you have an idea and think it will cost too much or take too much time, or maybe you don’t have what it takes to do it, that’s physical plane thinking.  That’s trying to figure out how to do it the human way.  To really expand your thinking you have to cut that tie to the physical plane and let your imagination soar in the realm of infinite possibility – where anything and everything is possible.  You can do that with visioning. You can do that with daydreaming. You can do that in your dreams.  Trust what you discover through your inner knowing.  If you can think it up you can do it.  Keep expanding your thinking and push the boundaries of what you think is possible.  That will help you think bigger than you thought you could..
