Curiosity Alone is Transformative

January 22, 2020 By Cara Lumen

  Curiosity Alone is Transformative

Adventures in the Unseen World

When I stop to feel the softness of my cat’s fur I experience not only the silkiness of the fur but the warmth of his purring body beneath my hand. When I sit with our combined energy I experience the companionship and trust he adds to my life.  If I become more curious  I may begin to wonder what it feels like to be that small, or see at night, or be about to leap up to a chair, or purr?

Curiosity takes you on one adventure after another

My mind keeps me hopping. I spend days trying to explain what I learn in my shamanic journeys by writing posts. I follow where I am led and my curiosity and need to understand is taking me on a huge adventure.

Curiosity allows you to add new ideas to your life

I had no idea the video talk I was watching would be so transforming. Or lead me on such great adventures. That was where I heard the phrase “Curiosity alone is transformative.” And here we are exploring that idea together.

Curiosity gives you understanding

I didn’t know I was going to become so interested in sound vibration until the right teacher showed up and I began to learn and apply what I discovered. I went exploring and expanded not only my understanding of how vibration works but how to use that understanding in my life.

Curiosity offers you comparison

Being able to compare two choices is invaluable.  Where will this choice take me?  Where will that choice lead?  Explore both opportunities before you decide. Curiosity is power.

Curiosity broadens your choice

When you explore, you discover more paths, more opportunities, more choices.  They are not all for you but knowing about them will help guide you on your own path.

Curiosity gives you new ideas

I had no idea the speaker was going to talk about Koans. I also didn’t know I would resonate so deeply with them. Suddenly I turned and wandered a bit down the path that helps me understand those thought-provoking stories. Be open to new ideas and explore them.

Curiosity opens new doors

As I move more deeply and frequently into the Unseen World there are definitely new doors being opened.  Not thrown open, but hinted at, needing a choice from me before they open and take me on my next adventure.

Curiosity is transformative

How curious will you be today?. Where and what will you explore?

Where will it lead you?

Deeper Song Affirmation

I am aware of my curiosity and follow where it leads me.

A Deeper Song Process

  • Think of something you are curious about.
  • Go exploring.

Leave Openness Open

January 15, 2020 By Cara Lumen

Leave Openness Open

Adventures in the Unseen World

The instructions I was given after the releasing ceremony were to not be in any hurry to fill up the space that had been created.

How eager we are to fill a void.

But what if you had just released a huge fear, or blockage or….? You would be left with an empty space.

Sit in the newly opened space for a while

There is much to be learned by sitting in emptiness.  By sitting in silence. In simply experiencing our Great Nothingness.

The longer you put off adding things to the space you have cleared by using a releasing ceremony, the more opportunity this newly opened inner space has to heal and clear out even more unwanted or stagnant energy.

In Ikebana (Japanese flower arranging) you begin with an empty space and use very few items. They let the space decide what they should choose and they add mindfully to the total arrangement one element at a time.

Honor the empty space you have created by simply embracing and welcoming the empty space.

Can you let the space embrace you?

What does it feel like to sit in an empty space?  If you experience a window in this inner world, can you feel the sun shine in or the soft air enter?  If a leaf comes in the window and drops to the floor, it will capture all your attention for it is the only thing to look at.

That’s how it works when you sit in the empty space of your inner self.   First, you notice the stillness of the space you have created. Then you notice your breath. With a relaxing outgoing breath you settle into the calm stillness of the open space you have created.

Sit there a while and don’t add anything else. Feel surrounded by emptiness. Feel embraced by emptiness. Experience the serenity of the silence. This is  your sacred space.  Don’t be in any hurry to fill it.

Be selective

Your mind is going to try to kick in here because that’s what our minds do.  But not every idea that knocks on the door needs to be let in. Take a centering breath and become aware of how the idea feels.  How does it fit into what you want to create at this point in your life?  You may reject things you used to love because you have explored enough or no longer need them in our life, or have found a new way to express your passion.

Take a moment to see where this new opportunity may take you. Is that where you want to go?  Who you want to travel with?

When you finally select something to bring into your empty space, hold it on your lap for a while and stroke it. Feel its energy. If it is flexible, wrap it around your body, bring it closer to you.  In every moment notice how this idea feels.  Does it support you or is it restrictive? Is it exciting or comforting or…?  Identify the emotion it holds. for you.

Perhaps you have to allow the idea to become more mature before you accept it into your open inner space. My spiritual practice is very full of actions and elements that I love to use.  However, it has gotten so big that I am not doing it with the same perseverance that I used to.  So if a new idea comes in, I get to see how it fits in what I have going on now and if it needs to replace something.

Choose

You have now let three or four things into your space to consider when you know you only have room for one or two in your life.  You always want to ask your inner guides for guidance. They can see the future.  They can see the overview.

You may simply hold each energy form and contemplate it. Feel which ones are for now and which ones are for later or perhaps not yours to do at all.

Accept one thing at a time

When you decide to let something into this cleared space you have created within yourself, sit with it a while.  Be with it. Meld with it.  Look at its potential.  You may decide then and there that you only want to have a middle-sized version of that opportunity in your life.  It’s like choosing the right-sized chair for the space you have available.

Take as long as it takes

Spend time being in your cleared space and enjoy the feeling of tranquil emptiness.  Your inner space that is now awaiting new options – new pathways to new opportunities. Within you.

Choose one and experiment

Take small steps as you absorb and incorporate and explore a new aspect that you have allowed into your sacred inner world.

And don’t be afraid to clear the space any time it gets overwhelming or too crowded or gets filled with all the wrong stuff!!!

Enjoy the emptiness.  Cultivate emptiness.  Be emptiness.

Deeper Song Affirmation

I perform a releasing ceremony and then sit with the cleared space for a long time before making any choices of what to let in.

A Deeper Song Process

  • Create a Releasing Ceremony For Yourself
  • Sit with the cleared space and enjoy its emptiness, its spaciousness. Its stillness.
  • When it feels right, choose one thing to let into the cleared space and take your time determining what size and how many you want to let in.

  • Explore the steps it will take to accommodate this new item in our life and have that be part of your decision about out to proceed.
  • Choose that or look at other options. Take your time.
  • Repeat often.

My Three Words for2020 – Strength, Intention, Explore

January 1, 2020 By Cara Lumen

My Three Words for2020  – Strength, Intention, Explore

Messages from the Unseen World

Choosing three words as guideposts for the year to come is a very powerful way to direct your journey and open your path. This idea comes from my friend Chris Brogan and I’ve been doing it since 2016.

How does choosing focus words impact your life?

Choosing focus words helps you set your direction for the coming year.  It’s like charting a course or at the very least knowing the general direction you want to go.

Choosing focus words helps you make conscious decisions. What is important to you? What do you want to bring next into your life? What steps are you willing to take to make it happen?  Where will those choices lead you?

My first word is “strength”

My first priority for this next decade is to strengthen my 87-yer-old body to help it regain its flexibility so I can keep living a proactive life.  “Strength” is the first world I chose.  It will be the cornerstone of my coming year.

Strength can also be a strength of purpose. Like getting projects out the door in a timely fashion.  Strength can mean determination to understand or learn or… My first cornerstone word for 2020 is “Strength.”

Intention is at the core of manifestation

Intention makes everything happen. It directs energy. It directs your thoughts. I will work to become more aware of the intention of erecting I think, and say, and do. And I will use the power of intention to help me explore the power of vibration and the Unseen World.

Intention is the second word I chose for 2020.

Change comes through exploration

“Explore” is my third word for 2020.  I am already exploring the Unseen World through shamanic journeying, but I recently experienced a powerful new message from my Inner World.  I now understand that the many crystals I have had around me for 40 years are to be my portals to the Unseen World. They are really talking to me in loud clear voices.  I will begin to journey with individual crystals with the intention of receiving their message from the Unseen World.  What an adventure!  I have no idea where I will go and what I will find.

“Explore” is the third word I chose for 2020.

Your words offer new awareness and open the door to new possibilities.

The three words you choose for this year will add power and direction to your chosen path.

What would you like the coming year to be like?  How would you like it to be different?  What doors would you like to open?  What wud you like to learn? What would you like to change?

What are your three words for 2020?

Deeper Song Affirmation

I choose three words to guide me on my path for the coming year.

A Deeper Song Process

  • Look over the past year and notice what you would like to change.
  • What steps, habits, choices do you want and need to make to get you where you want to go in the coming year?
  • Choose three words to guide your journey in 2020
  • Work with them in the coming year and see what adventures they take you on.

The Path Ahead Cannot Be Seen

The Path Ahead Cannot Be Seen

Adventures in the Unseen World

Life changes, we change. We know what we’re changing from, but not what we’re changing to.

We have to trust the process.

Where you are now is the result of what you have been doing

You’re standing where you are based on the choices you made up to now, things you did and things you didn’t do.

How to Transform Energy Before You Release It

December 18, 2019 By Cara Lumen

How to Transform Energy Before You Release It

Adventures in the Unseen World

Energy cannot be destroyed, it can only be repurposed.  So it makes great sense that before you release energy that is blocking you, you must take steps to convert it into a form of energy that will be useful elsewhere. What?! How?

Begin from where you are

I only have one example to share from my own life so far since this is a relatively new idea for me.  I was doing a ceremony to release a blockage, which in my case was my reluctance to exercise (I’m 87 and was never a fan of exercise when I was younger).  Along with this was a reluctance to take better care of my home.  Was that laziness? Or that it’s a bit harder?  Or simply that I don’t care? How can I release what I cannot identify as the cause of the problem?

Actually, I don’t have to know.  I can  use the phrase “I release what no longer serves me.”  Or “I relate what is keeping me from moving forward.”

However, that doesn’t address the idea of transforming the energy into something useful before sending it on its way.

Change the energy into a positive form before you release it!
