How to Activate a Tree Messenger to Send Your Healing Energy Out Into The World

October 25, 2016 By Cara Lumen

Birch tree

The world needs our help. The people, the animals, the plants, the oceans, the land, the environment, the interactions, the diversity, all need to be healed. We can assist in this balancing process by personally sending messages of peace and empathy and highest good wherever and whenever we’re called to do so.

When we gather together, our group energy multiplies our intention. I invite you to join with me to turn trees into messengers of our affirmative intentions. Trees can talk to other trees as the wind moves through their leaves. Trees can communicate with each other through the shared sunlight and their roots that reach deep into the earth. Trees are vital members of the web of life.

When we ask our tree messenger to send out our blessing, our message of peace, balance and harmony, it acts as a transformer to broadcast the intention of our focused energy to trees all over the world, who in turn hold that healing energy out to the people who live with them.

It begins with one tree. Your tree. A tree that you see often, that you’re drawn to.

In this first process, we’ll ask our tree if she/he will become our messenger and send our message to trees all around the globe, who, in turn, heal the people and situations around them. Our tree becomes our antenna for the messages of healing and balance we send every day.

As more and more people activate a tree messenger, our group energy field will expand. Will you join us?

Here’s how to activate your tree messenger.

The Tree Messenger Activation

Purpose: To connect to the web of life, allowing the presence of a tree to become a focused transporter of our group energy from tree to tree all over the world and thus to the people around them.

Choose a tree as your messenger, one you see often. If possible, allow the tree to be north of you in the direction of Spirit, the creative originating mystery.

Select a purpose. Why, where, and to what cause are you sending energy? And what thoughts do you want to send?

This first time, we’re asking our tree to invite trees all over the world to join in our desire to help heal our planet as placeholders and messengers for our collective field. In subsequent transmissions, your purpose can be to heal and balance anything you choose.

Offer your tree a gift or simply a verbal offering of gratitude for its presence and power and for the symbolism it’s about to take on.

Connect physically with the tree. Stand before the tree you’ve chosen and mirror its standing presence.

Connect with the core of the earth. Feel how deeply your tree connects with the center of the earth; feel the roots of the tree draw energy from deep within.

Connect with the cosmos. Feel the sunlight or the starlight pouring through the leaves of the tree and feel your connection with the universe.

Connect with your tree. Put your left hand (receiving) on the trunk of your chosen tree and the right hand (giving) on your heart and feel the life force flowing up and down within the tree. Allow the energy of the tree to enter your body.

Become aware of the group field that surrounds the tree through the soil that sustains it and the elements of the air and sun that encourage growth and offer sustenance. Become one with the power and presence of the tree.

Close your eyes and feel you and the tree surrounded in a light mist. Become one with the tree and the mist. As you merge your energy with the tree, you become surrounded by a membrane of light that holds you blended with the energy of the tree.

Ask the tree if she/he is willing to be your messenger to the world, to connect you with the energy of trees all over the world so they become a messenger and placeholders for your positive intentions.

State your intention. This first time we’re asking our tree to ask all the trees in the world to become place holders for our work, for our messages of hope and healing. We’re seeking agreement from the trees to become our messengers.

On subsequent occasions, you can ask your tree to send your personal message of empathy or peace or awareness of our inner connection in the web of life out into the world.

Listen for the tree’s consent. Notice her/his willingness to help bring balance to nature and the world.

Extend your energy field that’s now combined with the energy of the tree to trees all over the world and to other people using trees as their messengers of light.

Feel the group energy build. Know that others are gradually and organically taking up this call and that the group energy is expanding to countries all over the world. Picture the planet covered with people connecting with their own tree messengers to send healing energy to our planet. See us all surrounded by light.

Feel our reach extend. Feel the energy of our group connecting with tree messengers all over the world. Feel our energy moving into the trees in forests, mountains, cities and countryside. All of these trees are opening to become antennae and transmitters of our message of balance and oneness. Be with that energy and fill yourself with its power.

When you’re ready, gradually return your awareness to where you stand and to the pulsing of the tree under your palm.

Thank the tree. “Thank you for expanding my connection with the web of life. Together we’re planting seeds of awareness for the highest good of all.” Put your palms together, bow to the tree and say Namaste (pronounced Nah-mah-stay, which means “the light within me honors the light within you”).

Ask the tree for a small gift that will serve as your transmitter to the tree. It could be a leaf, a piece of bark, a twig. Take your gift from the tree and return home.

Put your gift transmitter in a special place. The gift from the tree has now become a transmitter from you to the tree who is now your messenger to the world.

Send regular messages of peace and balance. Any time you want to send a message to the whole world, you can hold the tree’s gift, or feel the tree’s presence, or go stand before the tree itself and create your own ceremony of connecting with the tree to send your message of love and light.

Will you activate a tree messenger?

It’s empowering to feel that we can easily send our healing, support and peace-filled energy all over the world simply by focusing on our tree messenger. If you keep the gift the tree gave you in your special sacred pace, it’s easy to pick it up and send your blessing to whatever need you see or feel in the world.

Feeling that you have the ability to send positive energy to any place in the world makes you more aware of the places where you’re needed. Now you have a new way to participate.

My tree messenger is activated. Her name is Grace. We talk many times throughout the day. She can be seen from my window, and she casts moving shadows on my walls as the sun moves along. Her gift was a twig that had fallen on the ground. I hold it in my hand when I consciously focus my energy on the well-being of the planet. The twig is a mini-antenna from me to her.

Sending a message for my tree messenger to deliver is now a daily part of my life. My tree is ready. Will you ask your tree to become part of her global purpose — the peace and well-being of our planet earth?

If you activate a tree, will you please let me know at cara@passionatelyonpurpose.com, and give me descriptions of any experience you had while doing this. Namaste.

Our Opinion Requires No Thought

June 13, 2016 By Cara Lumen

puzzle

Where do our opinions come from? Our opinions come from a hodgepodge of unexamined beliefs and experiences. Opinions require no thought. If opinion is the lowest form of human thought, why do we value it?

We hang on to our opinion because we are afraid

If someone is doing their life differently than we are, we feel uncertain around them. We may feel less than, we may feel more than, we may just feel afraid because their expression of life is outside of our own experience, our own comfort zone.

Opinion requires no accountability or understanding and it leads to violence, discrimination and a narrowing of our own life experience.

We hang on to our opinion because we don’t understand

When I took my final exam in Comparative Religion in college, I wrote at the end – “How do I know my religion is “right?” Up until that point, I had not been aware of the variety of ways that humankind seeks their own spirituality. I hadn’t known about those other religions, therefore I didn’t understand them. I begin to go exploring to find what resonates with me and my particular path and it has been a rich, rewarding and unique journey.

We hang on to our opinion because it’s easier than gaining knowledge

It takes time and energy to get the facts. It’s way too easy to believe what we are told – in the media, by others. If we want to move beyond the shallowness of opinion, we have to be open. We have to be willing to consider our options, to explore several approaches to a solution, to listen with an open heart to the concerns of others.

It’s so much easier to just believe what we fear, what feels uncomfortable, than to examine ourselves to see what we might learn and therefore change about our own feelings and beliefs.

Opinion is scary because it can be harmful

We get attached to our opinions and if they are questioned we hang on even harder. It leads to confrontation. Can you pause for a moment and look closely at your opinions and do some fact-checking, listen to the concerns of other, and be willing to expand your thinking?

The only way to move beyond opinion is to explore

Do some research. Read a variety of viewpoints and recognize that even those “viewpoints” might just be someone’s narrow opinion. Look for the facts and know that even the facts that were selected to share where chosen based on someone’s opinion of what was important. You have to look hard to find what feel like the truth. We fear what we don’t understand. Learn what you need to know in order to broaden your viewpoint.

Question you own values to make certain they are truly what you value today and are not simply the values and beliefs you were taught in your childhood and have never bothered to question. Don’t take on someone else fear. Move yourself into the understanding of the human-ness of what you feel.

The highest form of knowledge is empathy

What if we tried to walk for a bit in the other person’s shoes? What if we truly understood that we are all one – all one energy – all one spirit – all one essence. That you are me and I am you and to harm you is to harm me. What if we embraced that?! The highest form of knowledge is empathy, being able to understand and share the feelings of another.

Can you move beyond yourself?

The first step to compassion and empathy is to feel and see beyond yourself. Each of us is beautifully unique just as we are. We are here to be appreciated and valued and learned from. You are. I am They are. We are. We are one.

Can you empathize enough so that you can feel both the joy and pain of the people you have a negative opinion about? Can you look deeply into the things you hold in common and celebrate their unique value in the world?

A person is a person, whatever their race, nationality, or gender. People love, they share, they teach, they learn, they walk, they rest, they think, they create. We are all the same, whatever we look like or however we express our own individuality.

What is the highest good for all?

A person stepping forth to lead will not “please” everyone. We are too beautifully unique – and unfortunately too opinionated. What if we all found solutions that were for the highest good for all? The highest good, the best for everyone. That would mean compromise, that would mean flexibility, that would mean understanding the feelings and belief and needs of others. Can we do that? Can you?

Appreciate what others offer

A person expressing his or her gifts is simply that, a fellow human following their passion and giving of themselves to the world. You can accept it or not, but feel their heart. Feel their love of what they do. Do not let that be overshadowed by anything superficial that tempts you to bring yourself down to that lowest form of thinking – your opinion. Raise your sites and absorb the gifts others offer.

Think empathy. Think love. Think oneness.

Go beyond yourself and live in the other persons’ world.

Move from the self-serving world of opinion into the world-embracing place of empathy and see how your own world experience changes.

Allow the Right Action to Emerge

March 14, 2016 By Cara Lumen

hammockpeg

When the time is right, the action will emerge. We simply have to have patience and trust the process.

Plans force the issues

When you learn to let life unfold, everything shows up at just the right time. The right ideas appear, the perfect circumstances emerge, the best people show up to participate.

When you allow your life to unfold, things simply fall into place and turn out much better than you thought.

Unfolding doesn’t mean you’re not aware. You are vibrantly aware. Aware of the ideas that show up, the situations that present themselves, the people whose words resonate. And then comes the time that you know it’s time to act – to shape the things before you into something much bigger than you could dream of.

Unfolding allows your ideas to mature

Giving a plan time to unfold also allows you to balance yourself. It may mean you become more experienced at a specific skill. You may have time to take some tutorials that spark new interpretations of your original idea.

Unfolding doesn’t mean a specific amount of time; it simply means a patient waiting to allow your ideas to develop and mature. To allow yourself time to absorb the idea and let your inner wisdom check it out.

With patience comes the right action

It comes so smoothly that it’s effortless. Everything lines up, and it “becomes.” It becomes more than you thought possible. It becomes more impactful, more clear, more relevant.

Learn to listen to your inner guidance. Learn to recognize the right time to move – that magical time when everything comes together to turn into something more amazing than you ever thought possible.

Learn to allow the right action to emerge.

Deeper Song Melodies from 2015

December 31, 2015 By Cara Lumen

french+music+clip+art--graphicsfairy004sm

I want to sing a deeper song.

I want to help others sing a deeper song.

My calling is to delve into the meaning of life and share what I discover. My place of service is with the online Deeper Song Community where I help others interpret, absorb and thoughtfully apply concepts that encourage a deeper, richer, more profound life experience.

To sing a deeper song I explore three major areas: Self-awareness, Spiritual Expansion and Service.

As I allow my life to unfold, I observe what shows up and simply shape things as they come. I share what I discover though posts, podcasts, videos, courses and ebooks. Here are some meaningful ideas I shared this year.

SELF AWARENESS
Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world.
Today I am wise, so I am changing myself. – Rumi

Self-awareness is the key to positive change. The more we understand our wants and wishes, our needs and desires, our talent and calling, the more aligned are our choices. Here are some thoughts on how you can become more self-aware.

SPIRITUAL EXPANSION
“Live in the nowhere you that came from,
even though you have an address here. – Rumi”

Spiritual expansion is a very personal journey that brings you balance and serenity. Here are some ideas on spiritual awareness that I explored this past year.

SERVICE
When you do things from the soul, the river itself moves through you. Freshness and a deep joy are signs of the current. – Rumi

Service is when we walk along side someone and shed our light on their path. Deepening your service increases your self-awareness and contributes to your own spiritual expansion. Here are some thoughts on moving more purposefully into service.

The No-plan Plan

December 29, 2015 By Cara Lumen

paper airplane

I don’t do plans. My lists are only reminders of what is next to be done, not what needs to be done by a certain time. No, I don’t do plans; I unfold. That goes against every planning concept I’ve ever explored. And I’m still learning to trust it.

Listen to the signals

The only elements of my no-plan plan are to be open, receptive and authentic. That means you have to listen – to your urges, your insights, your nudges.

The no-plan plan has allowed me to get out of my head and into my heart. I have no marketing plan. I don’t even have an editorial plan. I just stay open, examine what shows up and do something with it – or not.

Consider what shows up

New opportunities cross your path several times a day. It’s up to you to be aware that it’s an opportunity. Consider it to see if it’s something you want to do and then take action – either act on it or don’t.

I often get motivated by a phrase that resonates. It can be from a novel, a post, a TED talk, a conversation or an email. I resonate strongly to the phrase and immediately go exploring. I often write something to help me figure out what I think that concept means and how I might apply it to my life. Sometimes what I write is worth sharing. Sometimes it’s not. But it always helps me examine the opportunity and make a choice about how to shape it.

Choose what resonates

You will acquire a rather large collection of possible opportunities. When you are aware of your degree of passion and your intended direction, you can begin to choose the opportunities and ideas that are aligned with the direction you have chosen to go.

Look at making a choice as a form of exploring. Take the idea a bit deeper, see what form it could take, decide if it furthers your intentions and either do it or don’t.

I write whenever anything calls to me, but I review, edit and chose about once a week. Some of the pieces were simply me sorting out me. Others have meaning for others. And some were relevant at the time but simply no longer interest me enough to want to share them. Make your choices based on what you need and feel at this moment in your life

Shape what shows up

This is the lovely part. A tempting idea floats in. You look it over, try it on for size, keep the parts that match where you’re going and let the rest move on.

I allow their shape to emerge. Some posts really, really want to also have a podcast version with more stories and a different format. Others move from a post to a section of an ebook. I listen, I feel. I shape them into a new platform.

Shape is such a gentle word. A little nudge, a release of pressure and a new shape emerge. Shaping is a gentle process that has powerful results.

Evaluate according to you calling

One thing you do need in a no-plan plan is an understanding of the message only you can deliver. That becomes the measuring stick by which you choose the ideas to complete.

The more deeply a topic resonates with me, the more I’m compelled to share it. Not everyone wants to think philosophically about their life, but those who do will be drawn to what I share. I choose my most relevant topics based on how strongly I feel about them. I focus on the topics and concepts that are moving my own life along, that are the most relevant at this moment in time.

Tweak

Once it has a shape, tweak it. Check out other platforms it could be used in. Get some distance on what you have created and return to review it with a beginner’s mind.

I do tweaking well. Fine-tuning is not my thing. I am fortunate to have two people with proofing and editing skills to help me with that stage. I work with the flow, the sequence, the effectiveness of the process. They help me prepare it to be shared.

Is this your authentic voice?

Remember I said the primary elements of the no-plan plan were to be open and receptive and authentic? I check over whatever I have created, whatever I’m ready to share to see that it expresses my authentic voice. Is this what I believe? Is this what I want to share with others? Am a sharing a piece of my soul?

Deliver

If you don’t put the ball in play, nothing happens. You have to deliver. You have to put it out there. Someone is going to see it. Someone, somewhere, is going to be affected by it. You just don’t know how many there will be and from where they’ll emerge.

Notice what shows up next

You’ve shipped something. You’ve learned something in the process. You’re a different person than you were even earlier today. What is showing up right now, in this moment, that wants your consideration, that wants your nudge, that wants you to simply shape it and deliver it?

One step at a time. One moment at a time. That’s the no-plan plan.
