The 7 -7 Vibrational Healing Drumming Day

March 30, 2019 By Cara Lumen

The 7 -7 Vibrational Healing Drumming Day

On the 7th of every month, wherever you are on the planet, you are invited to create a wholing vibration for seven minutes at any time in your day with the intention of balancing our planet. It can be drumming, toning, chanting, using any form of vibration that calls to you.

We are vibration and vibration can heal and whole.  When we raise our own personal vibration, it radiates out to enhance the vibration of others. The idea came when I learned to drum to heal myself in a class with drummers in over 30 countries.  It felt awesome to think of all of us drumming for wholeness on one particular day.

As participants in the collective power of this world-wide vibrational energy, we can focus our drumming on very specific intentions – a population in crisis, a species of animals in danger, an environmental unbalance. However we frame our own intention for healing will be magnified by the collective vibrations sent out in that 24 hours in which it is possible that someone somewhere in the world is drumming for wholeness. As more people begin to drum, we will certainly create a ripple that will be felt and heard!

Drum for healing

Sound healing is powerful.  Whether it is a drum, a flute, a chime, a bell, two stick struck tougher or your voice, vibration is a powerful balancer.  Feeling and hearing a sound attunes our whole body and radiates out into our world.

The ripple effect

Will you join us? As more and more people choose to drum to the planet for 7 minutes on the 7th day of each month, it is possible that there will be drumming somewhere on the planet for 24 hours on that day.  What a powerful effect that will have on our world consciousness!

Drum with intention

You are to drum with the intention to heal.  The focus will be an individual choice.  You might drum to one of the elements – more water, less water –  your choice will determine the sound and rhythm and perhaps even your drum choice.  Let the focus of your intention to send wholing vibration suggest the rhythm.  The one uniting element in the 7-7 Vibrational Healing Drumming Day is drumming with the intention to raise the collective vibrational consciousness of the planet.

Experiment with sound

As I began to work with my drums for personal healing, I found a rhythm that resonated to me and I began to repeat it.  I played it with my mallet. I played with my hands.  I held the drum so the back faced my heart and let the vibration move deep into my body.  I played it with the sounds of the different elements. I played on the rim. I played in the center.  I used fingers and palms and the edges of my hand.   My body began humming with healing vibration.

All sound creates vibration

This is a vibrational healing. You can use chimes and Tibetan Healing Bowls and tuning forks and rattles –  whatever sound instrument calls to you, including your voice.  You can sing and chant or tone.  The focus is that for seven minutes on the seventh day of the month you will send a vibration of wholeness that will join with the vibration of others with the same intention in order to create a thick layer of an intentional wholing vibration that will raise the vibration of all of us – those participating and those unaware of the vibration.

7 minutes on the 7th Day to raise the collective consciousness of our world

Notice what changes.  In you.  In the world around you  You will feel serene, connected, empowered, and know that you are an important contributor to the  healing our world.

7 minutes on the 7th of the month to raise the vibration of our planet.

Will join us?

Deeper Song Affirmation

I lovingly send a healing vibration out into our planet.

Deeper Song Process

  • Mark your calendar for the 7th of the month.
  • If you have a drum begin to experiment with it to find a healing rhythm that resonates with you.
  • If you don’t have a drum, experiment with sound, a spoon and a pan, a pencil against a desk, your hands clapping on your knees.  Use your voice or other sound instruments that call to you. Find how you want to participate and begin to experiment with rhythms until you find a pattern that resonates with you.
  • Begin to practice with your healing rhythm.  If it is a Buffalo or frame drum, hold it so the back vibrates against your body.  If it is a bell or a chime, move it around your body. However you hold and play your chosen instrument, notice the vibration it offers as well as the sound.
  • Be aware of what changes take place in your body.
  • Become aware of what changes in the world around you.
  • On the 7th day of each month, create a positive vibration for 7 minutes with the intention to raise the vibrational consciousness of our planet.
  • Forward the link to this post to any friends who might want to be a part of this international vibrational healing.

I’d love to hear how this evolves for you on my FaceBook Page.

How I Found Connection – The Visionary Harp

March 6, 2019 By Cara Lumen

How I Found Connection – The Visionary Harp
An Inner World Exploration

It is rather tricky to be an 86-year old woman watching the world collapse around me and feel like I have the power to make a difference.

But I do have that power.

And you have that power.

Together we really have the power.

And, I have recently figured out how to increase our collective impact.

The Metaphor of the Harp

A shamanic journey is a meditation that provides us with metaphors in the form of helping spirits, animals, talking trees, reflecting pools that offer suggestions – all manner of metaphors that we are to interpret. It’s a message from our deepest inner self.  We just have to learn to listen.

In a recent journey, I was handed a golden hand harp to play.  And a golden feather pen which, as a writer, has been on my logo for 25 years.

And I got the message.

First, we learn to play our own instrument

So here I have this lovely golden harp which I really don’t know how to play.  I simply begin.  I pluck a string and see how it resonates.  Then I pluck another string and see how it resonates with the first string. I may look around at other people playing harps and learn from them. I keep practicing and my playing improves.

The harp represents me as an individual in a body suit and the strings are my inner vibration – how I interact with the world. The music I make.

I begin my work there.

What is the sound I am making?

We have a choice of the type of music we play in our lives. Am I creating a soothing sound or a screeching one?  Am I playing a rock tune or a symphony?  What are my preferences? What are my gifts?  What are my skills? What’s my passion? Those are the stings of my Visionary Harp, my “me” harp.

Practice to increase your skill

Our job in life is to develop our gifts.  To hone our skills.  To find our place of illumined service.  Over the years you’ll develop several skills, just as your harp (which represents you) has various strings to be played at various times, in different rhythms and harmonies.

You’ll explore many types of music. Some you’ll play better than others.  Some you’ll enjoy playing more than others.  Find your preferences.  Find your individual voice.  Find the music of your soul.

It’s fine to sing your own song by yourself.

However, playing as part of a group is exceedingly empowering.

Look around for the orchestra you are to join

Now that we’ve figured out how to play our own tune, we want to participate in a larger venue.  We want to help our community or the world.  We look around for the other harpists who are focused on the type of music that calls to us.  We join them.  It can be a small ensemble or a full orchestra. Whatever fits your calling.

Your first step is to allow yourself to feel a part of this group you’ve chosen.  Not to lose your individuality but to feel empowered by the mere act of belonging – the power of combined energies being able to create an experience that you alone cannot do.

The intertwining of your melodies and harmonies enhances each of your individual sounds as well as your final collective impact.  It strengthens and supports you as a musician.  Playing together creates a greater impact as you also support each other.

This was a huge realization for me. I work on the inner planes.  It’s not that it’s lonely there, far from it, but I didn’t feel very powerful working to lift the vibration of our world by myself.  It was then that I realized all I had to do was find the right orchestra and join it.

Now my focus is on keeping my instrument tuned and playing in harmony with others to create a greater whole.

You experience the feeling of inclusion

In my journeys, I have attracted what I call the Circle of Light Beings. They have made themselves known over a series of journeys and they have evolved as I got to know them. I see them as other light beings like myself, who are in deep service to the universe.  In the beginning, they simply came and surrounded me to offer support. I still experienced myself as standing apart from the group. I was being helped and healed by them, but I was still separate from the them.  I did not yet belong.

Holding myself apart has been a life long pattern.  I do not know who was keeping us separate, but I lay odds it was me….!

The gift of the Golden Visionary Harp in my journey changed that, however. Although I hadn’t experienced this before, the Circle of Light Beings turned into an orchestra of Visionary Harp Players and I was now a member!  I belonged!

I felt included.  I felt part of a group working for the same goals.  And I felt my individual impact greatly increase because I was now part of an active group and my voice was enhancing the power and purpose of the group voice.

Learn to play in harmony with other members of your light orchestra

When you join with other players you create a much larger sound.  A much deeper sound.  A much richer sound.  Because each of you is playing his or her individual part with an open and generous heart.

In my journey, I asked if there was a leader, a conductor. And the answer was “No. You play by listening to each other.”  Sometimes we play the melody, sometimes we play the rhythm, sometimes we simply deepen the overall sound.  It depends on the song and the purpose of the composition.  It depends on what is needed. We learn to be adaptable, to listen carefully to what is called for and then choose where we fit in.

Being a part of a light orchestra is exciting, empowering and amazing.

The collective passion is boundless

Every member of an orchestra is necessary.  Each transformational thinker in the world is vital.  As we each play our part with passion and commitment, the sound deepens and enriches and touches the hearts and lives of more people.  Being in a “Light” orchestra is a very powerful way to feel and know and experience how your individual voice makes a major difference.  How your individual participation adds greatly to the whole.

We can play our own instrument in harmony

As individual as is our instrument, as unique as is our sound, we must play our tones in harmony with the other instruments of the orchestra we have chosen to join. We learn to listen, to align with the overall goal and support it with our own voice and actions.

The major gift of playing your Visionary Harp in an orchestra is a feeling of belonging

For me, the greatest gift was to find other Visionary Harps, all playing in unison, all looking to raise the collective consciousness of our planet.

I am bolstered by the other light instruments focused on the same goal.  I feel aligned with vibrational beings working to raise the collective consciousness.  I feel I’ve finally found a place where I belong.

I’m no longer an old lady sitting alone, working on her spiritual practice and feeling isolated.  I have found my orchestra and I have joined in!

Begin your own musical journey

See yourself as a stringed instrument that’s in the process of tuning yourself to play the sweetest music possible.  Like heartstrings, perhaps.

Listen closely to each string and tune it so it is in alignment with the other strings of your life

Is there an out-of-tune string in your Visionary Harp that is you?  Adjust it.  Whether it’s a job or a relationship or your spiritual practice.  You are the musician. And you are the instrument.  Tune your strings so they play in harmony with each other.

What kind of music do you want to play?

I’m deep into shamanic exploration music, and spiritual exploration music.  What kind of music do you want to play on your Visionary Harp that is You?

Find others who are playing your kind of music

I am a perennial student and online learning makes it easy for me to “tune my strings” with a teacher that calls to me.  I play in that orchestra for a while.

I have a Skype friend I talk to weekly who shares a similar path.  We inspire and encourage each other.  We are an orchestra of two.

I explore the unseen world and I write and journey.  That seems to be the major orchestra of Helping Spirits that I’m playing in who support me in bringing my ideas into forms to share with others here on the planet.

There are ideas everywhere. Online is a huge resource. You simply have to decide what orchestra you want to play in and how you want your harp to be tuned. Then tune it. And start playing…!

Join those that resonate with you to create a larger impact

Now that I feel I am an active participating member of the Circle of Light Beings (all within my inner world) I feel empowered by their presence and positive that our collective focus can indeed  help lift the vibration and therefore the future of our planet. I’m no longer alone – I’m in a collective group of higher consciousness that’s focused on the higher good.

That’s how you become a Visionary Harp.

Deeper Song Process

  • Give some thought to the various strings of your “harp”.  Are they in tune with each other?  Do they play well together?  Is your tone balanced? Work to learn to play your individual harp well.
  • What type of music do you want to play?  It will be a calling of your heart, a cause that you care about.
  • In your inner world, feel the vibration of the “orchestra” you want to join.  Feel it empowering your own intentions.  Raising your own vibration.
  • When you find the right orchestra in your inner (or outer) world, join it and make your Visionary Harp a valuable contributor.

Know The Power of Our One Light

December 26, 2018 By Cara Lumen

Know The Power of Our One Light

I am light. You are light.  We are light.  The same light.  One light.  When we live in that awareness there are no barriers, no differences. There is only One Light.

Feeling and experiencing and knowing ourselves as one light is not as easy to do as we might wish it to be.  First, you have to know you are light, then you have to understand how to live as light.  When you learn to live as light you’ll find ways to change both your life experience and the world.

See yourself as light

Instead of looking in the mirror and seeing eyes and hair and what you perceive as you, close your eyes and feel you, feel you from the inside of your body and let yourself, your body suit, disappear until you are a pinpoint of light, floating in the Emptiness That Holds Everything. Stop and do that now.  Go within.  Take a slow, deep breath and go within so deeply that your body suit despairs.

You have begun to see yourself as light.

See others as light

Now, look at another person.  Again, soften your eyes or close them until the body suit of that person disappears and there’s only light where the person was. There’s no person, only light.

Come together in light

Picture yourself and the other light being floating in a void, the Great Everything, as two points of light.  Floating. Moving closer to each other. Allow yourself to merge and become one light.  There’s no longer any separation between you and your friend, you are one bright light. No longer separate body suits, but intertwined, integrated as one light.

Slowly other points of light began to appear and float toward you.  As they approach you and your friend as a combined light, embrace them, include them, absorb them into the one light you are. Feel that one light grow bigger and bigger as more lights release from body suits and join the One Light.

And that’s the way the world works. That’s the way we are.

Experience the world as Light

When we expand our awareness and feel ourselves as light, our world shifts.  We begin to see the light in everyone.  It’s true that not everyone can see the light in themselves, but those that can also see the light in you. It’s those self-aware lights that come together and become one.  One light.

Gradually, everything – from the butterfly to the giant trees to the moon in the sky – becomes light to you.  One light.  One interconnected, wholing light.

Shine your light

How do you get to that feeling of oneness from your body suit?  You practice.  Sit with your eyes closed and breathe, breathe in light, breathe out light. You can breathe in light in from your crown. You can breathe in light through your pores.  Just keep breathing until you feel yourself as all light.

Now walk around all day with the feeling of an internal glow that everyone can see and feel.  Because they can. When they look.  When they open themselves up to feel. When they become aware.

Come together to heal the world

Those of us who know we are light are coming together through our spiritual hearts. As we do, our collective light brightens and deepens and broadens as we cover the earth – with light.  The energy of unconditional love, one light. First in a thin layer. Then in a layer that grows thicker as more and more people turn to the light within them and focus their gaze as a healing force for the planet.  Become light. Join with other lights.  Let us live in a world of light.

Begin to experience yourself as light in your personal spiritual practice. Breathe in light. TUne into light.  Sing light, dance light, drum light, simply see light in nature, in people, in everything.  What you look for, you find.  Look for the light in yourself. Look for the light in others. And connect with it.

Do You See and Hear and Walk in a Sacred Manner?

August 1, 2018 By Cara Lumen

Do You See and Hear and Walk in a Sacred Manner?
An Inner-World Exploration

Picture yourself walking along the edge of a body of water.  If you move your feet slowly, the water will have some ripples, but the life that is teeming below will not be disturbed.

If you jump into the water and splash around, waves will go out and the inhabitants of the water will be affected.

But whatever move you make, consciously or unconsciously, you are affecting the whole. The whole planet.  Everyone on it.  You affect everything by simply being.  That’s a huge responsibility.

We are one interconnected cosmic ocean.  What we do and think and say ripples out into waves that support the collective environment or damage it.

We must learn to see and hear and walk in a sacred manner because what we send out comes right back to us.

How do you walk in the world?  Do you send out gentle waves, or do you splash around?

We affect the world by simply being

Every breath we take affects the world.  Every thought we think sends waves out into the world.  Changing the world, changing our experience of how we live our life, begins with each choice we make.

We are One. We are sacred space. We affect each other.

Picture yourself as part of a cosmic ocean.  What you put into it affects every part of the ocean. Over there. Over here.  And whatever is happening over there affects you over here. One ocean, many waves.  Many currents. All sacred. All part of the whole.

We have to see each other as sacred

My life is sacred.  Your life is sacred.  Do we know that? Do we live as if we understand that? What does it feel like to live a sacred life?  What does it look like?  How do we express ourselves as sacred space in our lives?

What does sacred mean to you?

I see sacred as something close to my heart.  Not set apart to worship or admire, but something vital and dear that resonates with my heart, with my soul.  I see sacred in nature – a waterfall, a cloud, the Moon.  Sacred could be the look of discovery on a child’s face or the knowing smile of an artist who has just expressed herself well.

For me, the sacred is all of nature, and all of humanity.  That means I respect it. I care for it. I honor it.

What feels sacred to you?

It takes mindful practice to remember that everything is sacred. Stop reading and look around you.  Feel and listen to the space you are in. Feel its sacredness. What does it feel like?  How does being in sacredness make you feel? When something is sacred, how do you treat it?

How do you care for the sacred?

“Reverence” is too confining a word, but I would approach something I perceived as sacred with my antennae out, with all sensors tingling so I would not miss a moment.  There might be deep appreciation for its beauty or its power.  There might be a deep inhaling of its scent, or a gentle touch of its texture.

It’s easy to not notice how awesome life is.

My cat is sacred.  He is life.  He is love.  He is companionship.  He is play.  He accepts and needs my care. I’m not sure what a cat’s version of love is but to me it’s snuggling next to me in our big chair or sleeping at my feet while I sit at my desk and write.  He joins me in my morning spiritual practice.  He has become an integral part of my life experience.

Do you have a sacred pet?  How does that relationship nurture you?

There is an intertwined relationship with things that feel sacred to you

Since everything is sacred, we are in an intertwined relationship with everything – we just have to be aware of it.

Intertwined. That means my tug on my strand over here affects your strand over there. I have control over two things – what I put out and what I take in. How I put it out and how I take it in.

Mindfulness is the cornerstone of honoring our interconnectedness

Begin at this very moment to think of yourself as sacred.  You have the responsibility of acting with the loving care of the sacred. You have the opportunity to reach the hearts of others through your sacredness. When you know that, when you live by that, you will affect others in a sacred manner.

How do you hear the sacred?

Put your fingers in your ears and listen.  That is the sound of you! That is a sacred sound.

You hear the sacred when you listen to what is not said with more attention than the words that are said.  You listen for the love beneath the words, or the worry, or…whatever is not said.  You listen to the energy of the exchange.

Remember when you heard someone sing a song with great passion?  Pouring their soul into their performance?  You stopped and listened and felt.  Most of all you felt their passion and love and offering of self in your heart.  One sacred heart speaking to another.

Feel the core energy

As you move to learn to see and hear in a sacred manner, use your feelings.  Let them become an antenna, a barometer, a guide.  Let your intuition and your knowingness help you find the true nature beneath what you see and hear.

How do you reframe what you see?

I may have to look past the surface to see the light.  We are all light.  We are all one. And yet that angry person over there doesn’t feel very sacred, doesn’t look like light.  I have to look past what is manifesting and how I’m feeling about it to know and understand the soul within, the soul who has come to earth to learn and grow and may be having a hard time.

It’s not necessarily my job to help or not help another, but it is my job to see the other person as pure light. That allows them to see and know themselves as pure light. And that will comfort them and inspire them and help them feel connected.

How do you reframe what you hear?

We are all pure love.  That’s not always easy to understand, accept or share with others. But if we hear that angry person’s words as one of a “light being” in pain, or a “light being” in need, or a “light being” trying his or her best, it shifts how we hear what we hear.

Everything we do affects the global community

Our mere existence affects the global community.  Each breath, each action, each thought moves out into this cosmic ocean, this interconnected web of life and affects each part of it. We affect our world both consciously and unconsciously. That’s a huge responsibility – to be certain that your life is positive for the well-being of the collective, that your thoughts, your actions are offered with an awareness that you are sacred space that is affecting other sacred spaces.

How does that change how you live your life?

Look for light and love

If we walked around looking for the light and love in everyone we saw, life would be an entirely new experience.  Here we are, in our assorted body suits, bumping around on earth, some doing it more easily than others.  But we are all light and we are also all love.

Can you see everything as light?

Can you hear everything as love?

I, for one, am still working on it. But it is very much worth the effort.

Are You a Ripple of Hope?

May 8, 2018 By Cara Lumen

Are You a Ripple of Hope?

“Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.” – Robert F. Kennedy

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by all the things in our world that need to be better.  What can one person do?

Change your own thinking.  Focus on the potential, the positive, new ways to make things better.  Take your own personal steps toward making that happen.

Be more inclusive.  Be more compassionate. Be willing to change yourself.  See our world as light, all of us, each of us. One light.

Feel yourself as part of a fluid, interconnected world.  Each strand is connected to the other.  So a pull here affects a strand there.  What are you doing with your strand? How is it affecting the whole?

Think wholeness. There is only one of us. One energy.  See and feel and hear the light in everyone and everything. As more and more people experience our world as one light energy, the shift in consciousness will occur.

Be a ripple.  Send out positive thoughts and intentions.
