When I See Myself As Light

January 30, 2019 By Cara Lumen

When I See Myself As Light
An Inner-world Exploration

On being Light

I sit in stillness
and my body
slowly disappears.

I move to…
A floating feeling,
A boundless feeling,
An all-encompassing feeling.

And I know myself to be light.
Only light.

No body suit limitations.
No human experiences,
Only light.

And I sit here and shine
in contentment.

I am light. Only light.

– Cara Lumen, November 2018

I sit here in my body suit, aware of my individuality, my separateness and I know it is an illusion.  It is not the truth.  It is not who I am.

I am light.

Only I don’t always feel it.

I can disappear myself when I meditate.

I can disappear myself when I play my flute.

I can disappear myself when I sleep.

I can mostly disappear myself when I take a shamanic journey.

There are doorways that invite me to enter the Invisible World.  I just have to step through.

When I see myself as light there’s only one of us. No separation, no other-ness. Just one unified glowing energy.

When I know myself as light, I’m free to be everywhere at once. When we join our lights in focused intention, we have the power to raise the consciousness of the world.  When we know ourselves to be one light, we experience our enormous collaborative power.

When I know myself as light, I balance my body, using energy to restore and heal.  My body is not separate.  It is light.  I am light. I am energy.

When I know myself to be light, I can explore the invisible realms, the other 95% of our world. When I allow it, I visit other galaxies, other concepts I never imagined.  I can become part of the Void, the All That Is, The Emptiness That Holds Everything.

When I leave my body suit sitting in my chair I can allow my inner being to return to Source, to enter into the Great Mystery and enjoy being light.  Light with no problems. Light with no worry.  Light with one responsibility – to be light.  To be strong, bright, clear light.

As I move through my life as Light, others notice.  They see themselves reflected in my shining light.  They see their own light and move to explore it, to own it, to be it.  And their light grows brighter.  As does mine. We merge, our light moving into the collective light, shining a bit brighter in welcome and recognition to those who come to join us. We begin to dissolve our individuality and grateful and joyously become one light. One Light.  One All That Is.

Begin by sitting in your chair and moving inside to your inner self so completely that your body disappears and you know yourself to be light.

Because you are.

You are light.

You don’t have to become it. You are it.

What you do have to do is become aware that you are.

Deeper Song Practice

  • Sit in a quiet place where there will be no interruptions.
  • Follow your breath. Inhale, pause, exhale, pause.  Repeat.
  • Allow your body to disappear.
  • Experience yourself as free-floating nothingness. A molecule – a space between the molecules.
  • Sit and experience yourself as pure vibration.
  • Begin your journey there.

Light and Darkness Cannot Exist Together

September 19, 2018 By Cara Lumen

Light and Darkness Cannot Exist Together
Our Luminous Legacy

When you light a candle, the dark recedes.  Light and darkness cannot exist together.  If you don’t like the darkness showing up in the world, get busy brightening your light.

You cannot think negative thoughts with a smile on your face. It is impossible to think a hostile thought and a friendly thought at the same time. Light and darkness cannot exist together, and that makes it simple to make the changes we need and want to see in the world today.  We simply shift our gaze from the dark to the light – not to ignore the darkness, but to empower the positive to become stronger.

What are you focusing on?

Each time I start to despair over something going on in the world, I can find a real-life example of someone making a profound difference by a positive action they’re taking.  I shift my attention to what is working and I immediately feel encouraged and hopeful, simply because I focused on what’s making a positive impact rather than what’s causing harm.

Your power lies in controlling your focus every moment

Notice what you’re focusing on, what you’re thinking about the most. If you feel less than joyous and serene, shift your gaze.  Shift your focus.  Look for and find the positive, the good, the successes in our world and simply be aware of how you feel when you look at the positive.

Stop now and notice how you feel in this moment.  Are you tense discouraged, upset, angry?   Now close your eyes and take a slow, deep-to-your-core breath and slowly and mindfully release it.

Notice how your body has let go and relaxed.  All you have done it to take a slow, deep breath and stepped inside yourself for a moment.

Take another deep breath and let go even more.

You have the power to shift how you feel in any given moment

You can make this profound inner shift from negative to positive any time you choose.  Simply shift your focus toward the positive, and feel its effect.

Come Out of the Protective Darkness of the Unconscious

September 12, 2018 By Cara Lumen

Come Out of the Protective Darkness of the Unconscious
OUR LUMINOUS LEGACY

It’s much easier to look the other way, to not see the destruction or the evil, or the anger or the hatred.  If we notice, we may feel called upon to do something. It’s much easier to stay in the protective darkness of the unconscious than move into consciousness and feel responsible for all you see around you.  What you don’t know about, you don’t have to do anything about.  Ignorance is bliss.

But it’s not.

We are responsible.  Our thoughts create our reality!

Our world is created by our thoughts and our focus, so everything that’s happening, good and bad, is because we’re looking for it or looking at it or ignoring it.  Our gaze creates our reality.  What we focus on we get.

We must take responsibility for creating our own life, our own experiences, our own consequences. And if we don’t like what we see, we simply shift our gaze to focus on positive, inclusive, highest-good expectations.

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed

We’ve become more internationally aware of all the plastic in the ocean, and it is daunting.  I stand here with my one plastic bottle and cannot imagine my individual impact can be that great.  But the world is me multiplied by billions.  I can, I must and I do take responsibility for my own actions.

Every action you take impacts the whole world

You have great power. Every thought you think enters the collective consciousness and shifts it.  Are you stepping forth to take responsibility and make the changes you need to make, or are you hiding in the shadows hoping it will all go away or miraculously heal itself?

Take personal responsibility for one thing

If you are personally responsible for one fish dying of refuse or open pollution, you have to take action and make sure that nothing you do is impacting our water. You may need to get active in your neighborhood, or your community or your state to help care for the well-being of the water.

Take as big a step as you are called upon to take, but do take a step.

For instance, I, being a vegan, somewhere along the line saved the life of a few cows.  But I’m not the only vegan in the world. There are a lot of us who share this consciousness.  I just have to make certain my link in the vegan chain is as steady and as strong as it needs to be to become the change I want to see in the world.  It may be as simple as taking a great vegan dish to a potluck to introduce others to the possibilities.

Move out of the unseeing state of unconsciousness. Come out into the world of life-changing conscious awareness and get to work.

What Wave Are You Riding?

January 17, 2018 By Cara Lumen

It’s rather obvious that our world and our planet are changing. People all over the world are moving into divisiveness and adamantly opposing points of view.  It’s not as simple as fear of change versus an eagerness to progress, it’s about not seeing ourselves as one, interconnected energy.

So we have these different waves in the cosmic soup.  Some run deep, some skim the surface, some crash into the rocks and onto the shore.  And each wave causes a ripple that affects the whole cosmic ocean.

The wake-up call

Some of us see this overview, we have an awareness of the collective consciousness.  Others have no awareness of a form of unification, they only see and feel their separateness, their opposing views.

The core belief system we luminous workers embrace is that we are one light, one interconnected energy and that our thoughts create our reality.  That means we have great control over our life experience, we change our thoughts, our beliefs, our words and our actions, and our world heals. We can do that.

What wave are you riding?

If you are aware of how interconnected we are and how deeply we affect each other, that’s a major wave to ride – a wave to solidify our collective light energy. Not everyone has achieved that awareness yet.

As a rider of this cosmic wave of light, you know how vital your own actions and thoughts are to the collective consciousness.  You work daily to increase and clarify your inner light.

How can you take that a step further?  How can you find an even different wave of wholeness? What will it look like?

Those of us who see ourselves as light need to bring others into that same vision.  We have to see everything as light, to hold it in light, to see its kindness and inclusiveness and collective love.  When we see it, it strengthens the energy around the increased layer of inclusive light.  Other are drawn in.  All are affected.

By our thoughts.

Consciously radiate light

Each day, even several times a day, sit quietly and feel your spiritual heart, the one that connects everything and everyone.  And simply be with that awareness.  Feel that spiritual light expand and encompass your whole body.  Feel it fill your entire room.  Your neighborhood, your community, the world.

Fill your spiritual heart with a connection of light to all that is.  Everything on the planet.  And simply radiate light out into all you can imagine.

Daily.

Every day.

Radiate light.

The different wave you can ride is to lift up others into the light.  Anchor yourself in your daily practice, spend time sharing your light with our world and be and know the power of our Light Oneness.

Make a choice

How awakened are you?  How can you become more awake? Who do you need to be with?  What do you need to think about?  What do you need to change about yourself in order to increase your own light? How do you become more of a positive change-maker on the planet?

Raise your sights.  Look for the light.  It is everywhere. In everything.  In everyone.

Be the radiant light you are.

Who do You Serve?

October 17, 2017 By Cara Lumen

As far back as Marketing 101, I understood how important it is to know who you serve.  Your target market, the people who’ll hear and understand you, the people who’ll want your product, the people you’ll want to work with. You can’t serve everyone.  You have to pick your tribe and serve it well.

What are they doing in their lives?

When I was becoming a Reiki Master Teacher we went around our group to say who we were going to help.  One person said she was going to help all the poor people.  In that moment I knew who I was going to serve – thought leaders who were already deeply in service so that my work would support them in flying higher and touching more lives.  And that has never changed.  I don’t want to teach “beginner” anything. I want to teach conscious, exploratory thinkers.

It’s important to know who you want to serve.

Why do you want to help them?

I am really self-focused in my choices.  I love to learn.  I have a burning desire and calling to explore the spiritual realms.  So my first reason for doing anything is determined by my own love of exploring the metaphysical.

And I also have a powerful need to explain what I figure out and share that with others.  But I no longer want to teach even the beginning steps of the exploratory work I’m doing.  My need to explore and figure out is first, and that is not a particularly good marketing strategy.  But my passion and excitement is contagious and there are those who are listening and reading and absorbing what I share. And that’s what I want.

Why do you do what you do?

It’s been very revealing to be retired, to no longer be focused on doing a job for the monetary reward. I find it both indulgent and expanding.  And I move rapidly and deeply into whatever I choose to explore. My focus is on learning more about the unseen world.  Not everyone wants to know about that, but those who do read what I write.

Your passion has been with you all your life

Whatever you’re supposed to be doing in your life, you have either been doing it all along or longed to do it all along.  Sometimes a gift shows you the way. I am a writer but the gift that makes the difference is my ability to quickly see the overview and make connections that others may not be able to see.  That helps me guide people toward new insights.

Many people are reaching mid-life and taking a hard look at their level of satisfaction, find it lacking, and go start their own business, or follow a more personal calling.

Don’t be afraid to change your life, wherever you are on your path.

You never know who you’ll reach

I did a podcast interview and the person who did the interview has shared with me some of the positive responses it received.  I know nothing about those people other than their responses.  But that’s enough.  I touched some lives. I made a difference. And I have no idea what I said or what idea touched them.

We often don’t know how we touch lives.  We just have to trust that we do.

Your calling is deep within

Go into meditation.  Ask your inner self for guidance.  Ask to clarify your passion and offer suggestions for its expression.  Then go do that.
