The Cloak of Empowered Service
The Unseen world speaks to us through metaphors that only we are to interpret. It’s as easy as going within and asking what we need to know next.
I am being flooded with ideas for thees podcasts. New ideas keep coming in. I took a shamanic Journey to ask what I should write about next in the way of teaching a process and I got back what turns out to be a whole wardrobe – of cloaks!
Cloaks to me are a mental you accept, a robe you put on that signifies your intention, your role, your purpose.
I keep getting cloaks in my journeys as I accept a deeper roe in my unfolding. What cloak is calling you? And does it take the metaphor of a cloak for you?
Welcome to Reflections of a Deeper Song.
I’m Cara Lumen, spiritual philosopher and founder of the Deeper Song Community I am a cosmic explorer who consciously travels into the unseen world to serve as a bridge to help us expand our relationship with the spiritual world. I share what I learn and guides those who are ready to the next level so we can sing a deeper song.
Thank you for being a part of this journey.
Today I want to talk about The Cloak of Empowered Service
I’ve been taking shamanic journeys for inner guidance for about four years, and somewhere along the line I began periodically feeling a cloak placed over my shoulders in these journeys – they seemed to signify a new step, a new commitment, a new role. It was an honor to receive them, an honor to war them, and a responsibility to carry forward.
In each case, I was ready to accept this new role, this new Cloak of Calling. This cloak of Empowered Service.
But my most profound experience of leptin a Cloak of Empowered Service was in real life. One the years if have connected with younger friends with whom I speak online on a regular basis. At one point I began to write them collective email mostly as it pertained to their entrepreneurial businesses. It ultimately became apparent we should all meet each other. I was the only one who knew each of them. I dubbed us the Rainbow Weavers and arranged a group call.
Now, I sort of saw this as a form of accountability, mutual support for our business group but that’s not what it is at all.
When I hung up from the first call I sat here in stunned silence. This was a spiritual group. We needed each other as inspirational points of light. And I was being called into service to guide us. – I was being asked to put on the Indego Cloak of Wisdom and become a Spiritual Guide. I sat here for a long time feeling the depth of the calling, the unspotted turn it had taken, and my willingness to take on that role.
I like the image of cloak because I can feel it settle on my shoulders, I can feel its weight of responsibly and I can accept its calling. It became a sign of my role and my commitment. My cloak is Indigo Blue with a translucent lining. It is my willingness to serve as an explorer of the Unseen World with the responsibility of interpreting and teaching what I learn there.
You may experience this inner initiation in a different form but the experience of a cloak, a mantel of position being offered, and accepted is a profound experience of stepping into a new place of service, a new commitment.
Three ares to explore immediately come to mind:
1 – Where do you find your cloak? Who gives it to you? Do you have to accept it?
2 – Is there is a specific Action of Acceptance – a commitment to the calling.
3 – How do you bring you cloak into your place of service and into your spiritual practice and let it guide your choices and your work offering.
I don’t remember the color of the first cloak I was offered in a journey. I remember that I was surprised. I knew it was an initiation of some sort, a calling. As I remember there were flowers around the collar and maybe envy a wreath of flowers around my head.
And I can remember the specific Helping Spirit that gave it to me. It was definitely an ignition, a calling, an initiation. And I accepted. Even though I did not know the details.
I have been offered several cloaks in my journey.
A most recent one was at what I see in m journeys as the Indego Portal. It is a portal of wisdom. There is a large library there. A golden library.
I have a guide as see as Indigo Woman. In one journey she offered me an Indego Cloak. I was aware of being initiated, of being promoted, of being called into a new place of responsibly in the Inner World. My cloak was and is about inner wisdom, about exploring and interpreting the Unseen World, And when I accepted it and put it on I was elevated to stand on the right hand of my Indego Woman Guide. When I accepted this cloak of Inner Knowing, this indigo clock of Wisdom I knew I was to teach, write, reach out from there. It was my place of service, the Cloak of Inner Wisdom. The Cloak of Inner Knowing. The Cloak of Empowered Service.
I use this cloak of knowing as move into the unseen world to encourage and allow the messages to come, the metaphors, the ideas, the internal nudges.
Don’t rush this experience. Your experience may not be a lack at all. And remember what we find in our journey are metaphors only we are interpret so your metaphor may be something quite different. But when it is offered, it will guide you into your place of service – to yourself and to the planet and to the Unseen world
It’s an important metaphor. An important initiation.
When you are offered it, when you accept it there is a strong sense of coming home.
Is there is a specific Action of Acceptance – a commitment to the calling? Let this cloak, this metaphor for a sacred calling, guide your focus, your choices, and your awareness.
It’s an odd thing about our calling, sometimes we don’t think we are worthy of it.
Over the years I have used various adjectives to describe what I do – I use words like spiritual philosopher, explorer, guide, map maker. I wove them into my bio descriptions.
But I did not realize until my unexpected calling into the role of a spiritual guide that I realized I had not yet – at least out loud – called myself a Spiritual Philosopher. That seems too high a goal, too lofty a title.
And yet I took a Comparative Religion class in Collage. My journey began very early. I became a metaphysic-an in the ’80s and read a great deal of spiritual philosophy. I became a spiritual counselor in the Center for Spiritual Living in 2000 and I keep exploring – now it is the Unseen World.
We are what we think we are. We are who we see ourselves as. I am, indeed, a spiritual philosopher. I get to own that label.
And that make the cloak settle securely around my shoulders.
Accept what you are called to be, what you are called to do. Accept the calling of the cloak. When we wear our Cloak of Empowered Serve we step into that role.
When I experienced this initiation in my journey, it was and is a sense of coming home, of the families, of stepping into a role I knew was mine. And it was a sense of being elevated above what I had expected from myself or how I had seen myself. It offered a new awareness and commitment.
How do you bring you cloak into your place of service and into your spiritual practice and let it guide your choices and your work offering?
Remember, this cloak is a metaphor. It is a form of initiation, an invitation, a choice, a commitment. Bring your metaphorical cloak into your place of service and into your spiritual practice and let it guide your choices and your place of service.
For me, my cloak of Empowered Service is about broadening and deepening my connection with my inner wisdom and the Unseen World For me it goes to the Indego Portal of Wisdom and it is the Indego Lessons I learn and bring back. I can feel the indigo cloak come around my shoulders. Its weight, its protection, its support.
Whatever metaphor you find, whatever metaphor you accept, it is about putting on the mantle of service that is yours alone The mantel of responsibility The mental of stepping into your place, where you are needed. Your calling. Your place of Empowered Service.
As you feel the weight of the cloak of responsibility, the cloak of service, the cloak of your calling. Identify it, accept its call, put on the cloak, and accept your role. It is a message bout your place of service, your next step, your responsibility, the sharing of your light!
Each time you experience the clock of Empowered Service, this cloak of commitment to your specific calling, your places of service int the New Consigns, you will feel both supported and empowered.
After that Rainbow Weavers call, I simply sat here at my desk and felt the shift. I served as a Spiritual Counselor years ago, sot the role is familiar and actually welcomed again. I felt the shift in my role, the shift into spiritual leadership, spiritual guide. My role in the here and now had become more clear and I accepted it because it was familiar. You see, I have been in service as an explorer of the Inner World. I felt the Cloak of Empowered Service wrap around my shoulders in a perfect fit.
