What If You Got To Start Over?
Living Our Deeper Song
The Creative in me honors the Creative in you!
I first thought about this when I read about tornados leveling homes to the ground in the US. What would I do if I was left with nothing and had to start over?
I would look at it as an opportunity to rethink and re-choose and restart. Where would I begin?
If I could live anywhere, where would it be? If I had the world to choose from, where would I go?
How would I earn my living? Perhaps I would choose to live very simply and contemplate the land like Thoreau did in Walden Pond. Would you go to another country? Another climate? Another state? I made major cross country moves three times but I worked as a temp and could always get work as I continued to build my online business which you can do from anywhere.
Get out your imagination and start your new life with a blank slate and make it just as you would like it to be.
What if you decided to follow your heart? Where would you go and who and what would you bring with you?
DEEPER SONG AFFIRMATION
I am open to change. I go exploring.

The Role We Have Agreed To
Michael Newton, Ph.D. is considered to be a pioneer in uncovering the mysteries about life after death through the use of spiritual hypnotic regression. He holds a doctorate in Counseling Psychology, and is a certified Master Hypnotherapist.
Over many years, he developed his own intensive age regression techniques in order to effectively take hypnosis subjects beyond their past life memories to a more meaningful soul experience between lives. We all want to have our life have meaning but his work suggests we deliberately choose our life. even the most difficult ones.
We get to choose our next incarnation and even where we will go (as in other universes…) As you examine your beliefs about death, do some exploring to see what others have experienced in their life between lives and make up your own mind.
Take Responsibility for Healing Yourself
Do You Believe In Self-Healing?
“Each person carries his own doctor inside him. Give him time to do his work.” – Albert Schweitzer
When you believe in self-healing, you have to figure out how you access and focus it.
Obvious steps are exercise and nutrition and emotional balance. Emotion balance can be tricky to identify and it can sneak up on you. I did not know I was depressed until I moved and got un-depressed.
I continue with physical steps like Qigong and Tai Chi and have researched and added posture strengthening exercises to my daily body practice.
I can check my belief system to see what I think is possible for me at 90 and look to active people older than I am for inspiration.
What else can I do to access and support my inner doctor?
What I believe I deserve and what I believe is possible will have a profound impact. I can check that out.
I see some evidence that my body is self-healing. I’m getting a lot of help with medications on the inside but I have major physical strengthening work to do.
Do you believe in self-healing? And how do you access and cultivate it?
Explore New Potential and Possibilities
How Long Do You Stay On Your Path?
New paths continue to beckon as we move through life but make certain you have explored the path you are on enough to feel satisfied with what you have learned and to identify what you need next in your life.
You can go partway down a path to see if it resonates but feel free to return and explore other paths before you choose which one is important to explore next.
Use Images To Solidify Your Vision
I visualized the Peace Pole and wrote down my vision. Then I did some line drawings to make the design. But the idea I want to share is that I went online and found images that made the concept even stronger. So here’s my idea – when you have an idea, see if online images help solidify it.
You could make a Vision Board with online images. Use online images to shape and solidify your vision.

Self-Healing Spiritual Practice and Deepening Awareness of Our Cosmic Oneness
How Well Do You Meditate?
I want to meditate more often and more deeply. I have my mantra from learning Transcendental Meditation in the 60’s. I had my husband and children take it. We were interviewed separately and given different mantras according to the indications of the interview. I have used my mantra for fifty years. I did some online research on TM and what I found out was fascinating:
“Transcendental Meditation is not new, but is a part of the Vedic tradition of India, stretching back several thousand years. It is the heart of the Yoga system, and an important part of Ayurveda (‘the ‘Science of Life’), the world’s most ancient system of natural healthcare and personal development.
It may not always have had the same name, but the same basic technique has appeared many times in the past. At times when it disappeared from popular awareness, it was always preserved by the monks of the Shankaracharya tradition as Raja Yoga, the ‘royal path to unity’, which described the vast mental resources that lie virtually untapped below the surface of our conscious mind.
Through misunderstanding of the origins of Transcendental Meditation original teachings however, the process prescribed to release this potential and thereby solve life’s problems, ‘Ashtanga Yoga,’ of which TM is described as the ‘heart’, has been interpreted as eight steps of control and correct behaviour, which would eventually lead to the ability to experience a settled mind or ‘samadhi‘. Because of this confusion of cause and effect, it didn’t work for all but a few who were prepared to give up normal activity. Meditation was for a long time relegated to the fringes of everyday life, and for active people became substituted by visualization and other relaxation techniques.”
Then I found this:
Transcendental Meditation Mantras
TM is practiced by silently and effortlessly thinking a mantra or sound, which has been passed on during personal instruction by a fully-trained teacher following careful guidelines laid down by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. It is strongly recommended that you do not try to learn TM from any other source, even if they claim to be using Transcendental Meditation mantras, for reasons which will become apparent below.
How do Transcendental Meditation mantras work?
The mantra does not act as a focus for the mind as in other forms of meditation, but as a ‘vehicle’ upon which the attention gently and innocently rests. This allows the mind to settle into increasingly subtle levels of thinking, and finally the mantra itself is transcended and we settle into silence.
There are two qualities of the Transcendental Meditation mantra which are important for this process to occur:
It is a meaningless sound. Using a word with meaning would keep the mind on the surface, thinking about the word, and not allow it to transcend (go beyond) that level.
Its vibration has a resonance with its source in the primordial hum (Om) close to the silent, blissful level of the mind which gives it a tendency to fade in that direction. This attracts and charms the mind, which itself is always searching for greater happiness, so the mind settles with the mantra towards silence.
Where do Transcendental Meditation mantras come from?
The mantras used in Transcendental Meditation come from the ancient Vedic tradition of India. They are Sanskrit sounds, the language which is the closest possible human imitation of the natural vibrations produced by the dynamism of the unified field; the field identified by objective modern science as the silent source of all creation, and by yogis in their meditation as the Self – the field of Pure Consciousness. Some mantras have healing power for specific parts of the body, but the Transcendental Meditation mantras are for transcending, which has an enormous healing effect for the whole body and mind and much more.
How do you choose the Transcendental Meditation mantra?
There are thousands of Transcendental Meditation mantras, from which a small number with known effects are used. We choose one that is suitable for you from a selection passed on by Maharishi according to a simple procedure that ensures it is correct.
Can I get my mantra from my friend, or some other source?
It is important to receive the mantra from a fully trained Transcendental Meditation teacher because they have been given a selection of mantras which have been passed down through a long line of teachers over thousands of years. The effects are therefore well known both historically and currently to be always positive and life-enhancing.
The mantras and procedures for passing them on are received by the teacher after months of intensive training, and the student is asked not to share the mantra or the way it is taught with anyone. This is for the benefit of the one already meditating (see next question), and to preserve the purity of the teaching ensuring that every person receives full and correct instruction. This is very important.
There are 4 vital aspects of the teaching that ensure that it will work for you:
- Receiving a correct mantra.
- Knowing how to use it properly.
- Being able to correctly interpret the experiences that come as a result.
- Having the support and guidance of a fully trained teacher free for the rest of your life.
Any one of these aspects missing could result in incorrect practice, lack of progress, and giving up on meditation completely, so missing a priceless opportunity to significantly enhance your life.
Why not the primordial humOm?
As explained above, not just any sound will do. Different mantras have different effects. The mantras used in TM are a group of ‘householder’ mantras designed to enable people to experience deep, restful meditation which brings integration between inner silence and outer activity – deep rest along with energy and dynamism. Om has a strong environmental effect which is OK if chanted in a group, but if used as a personal, internal mantra, it is suited only for those wanting to withdraw from active life.
Isn’t it better to chant the mantra?
Chanting the mantra will keep the body (mouth, throat etc.) active, and therefore not allow it to sink into the state of natural, deep rest that TM is famous for. Chanting also controls the mind and prevents it from settling into silence, as it naturally wants to do. And modern science has shown us that these quieter, deeper levels of life are more powerful – the nuclear level is far more powerful than the atomic level. Similarly, mantras are more powerful when they are thought rather than chanted, but the biggest power is discovered when the mantra is transcended as in the process of Transcendental Meditation.
These particular Transcendental Meditation mantras have been passed on in this specific way to millions of people all around the world since Maharishi’s revival of this ancient knowledge in 1958. The success of the technique has been verified by the benefits indicated by testimonials and a vast body of scientific research in universities around the world.”
I include all this because some of it I did not know. I have been suggesting people use OM for a mantra and I will stop doing that. I have not valued my Transcendental Meditation mantra as much as I could and I did not understand its origins. But I do know that it has been a powerful element in my spiritual practice and I’m going to mindfully expand my personal meditation practice using my TM mantra.

Our Chosen Path
“Do not follow where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
How do you find a new path? You listen to your inner voice and go exploring. It may be a whisper or a compelling calling. Heed it and begin your new adventure.

Expand Your Role in the Rapidly Evolving Universe
Your Moral Code Is Yours Alone
You cannot legislate your version of morality beliefs onto other people. There is a group of Republicans in the US who are trying to do just that.
I am very grateful for the gifts of other cultures and belief systems. Taoism, Buddhism, Ayurvedic, Yoga, Tai Chi, Qigong, and Shamanism have broadened and deepened many facets of my life. I am enriched by their presence, their teachings and their diversity. I have learned music and food and spiritual practices from people of other cultures.
Our major moral code should be “Do not harm’” which could translate into “Let other believe what they choose. Do not try to impose your viewpoint on others.”
There is so much to be learned from other cultures that we should take every opportunity to learn and expand our range of potential possibilities by learning from them. Adopt and adapt what calls to you. Don’t stay static – go exploring…!

Justify Our Being
I ran across the phrase “Justify our being” in Michael Newton’s book Journey Of Souls. (Case Studies of Life Between Lives). He was showing that we understand why we have returned to earth – what lessons we are to learn, what gifts we are to give.
Sometimes we come in with notable challenges that make us more aware. A major and dramatic choice I made in my 40’s greatly broadened the number of lives I have touched along the line.
Sometimes we make those major choices and sometimes we don’t.
I have a new purpose now. It is multi-faceted and unfolding. And I am listening intently to its whisper.
What did you come into this life to do and are you doing it?

Learn To Read The Energy
Years ago in New York City I found the website of a young man who was a Buddhist and powerful, positive energy poured off the screen. I just sat there and soaked it in. It was my first experience of energy traveling so pointedly across the internet. It was the 80’s and computers were new.
Another energy experience in New York City was when a client said she had found me in the New York City phonebook from the energy of my name listed in that very large book!
Learn to interpret the energy around you and base your choices on what you feel rather than what your mind suggests.

I have stepped up to the plate to walk again. Enough of this wheelchair stuff. I have access to physical therapy but there is work I must do myself. I have gone online to learn exercises I can and will do and have add three specific conscious movement times to my day.
Self-motivation is an interesting aspect to encourage and develop.
I have some ideas and I found some great ideas online but I have to execute them on a regular basis. I have to do them consistently and I have to push myself each time to do a little more. It’s all up to me.
I will give my body an opportunity to adjust to each level and at the same time try not to go too easy or too hard on myself. The objective is to walk further more easily.
How do you challenge yourself? How do you make goals and meet them? What do you need to strengthen next?
